  • I make guitar videos on my channel that have been mostly centred around British Indie Pop band 'The 1975'. I currently do the most accurate and up to date versions of their songs and decided to give a go at teaching it to those who are interested after numerous requests. The videos go in depth in what gear you will need, what guitars to use to capture the sound and then a note for note break down for each section of the song. The videos are lengthy as I go into deep detail on how to correctly perform each song. I would love to be able to pump these videos for all of you to learn. The videos just take a long while to edit and record so all support and donations would very, very much be appreciated. Thank You.

    Thanks for the tutorial. Are you using any specific pedals or amp settings for the sound?

    • @MichaelLennon
      @MichaelLennon  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey mate, thank you. I’m using a boss compressor and then just spring reverb from my amp. The settings are going to vary for everyone as each amp has their own characteristics but I’d play around with your settings to see what you prefer!

    Great video, mate! I'm triying to nail it out, but I still don't get how you make that awesome sound meanwhile you play the pentatonic in the main riff. Are you muting the main string after hit it or something like a slight palm mute when you just feel it? that makes your cover sounds just like the 1975 do

    • @MichaelLennon
      @MichaelLennon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks man! For the main riff I do slightly palm mute but I’m essentially playing a funk like style and killing the sustain of the string just after hitting it (muting it essentially just like you said). So it’s a hit note/mute/hit note/mute kinda rhythm if that makes any sense? 😅

      @@MichaelLennon Totally makes sense man! thanks a lot for the explanation, now I get it better. Keep doing these amazing videos.

    can u share your preset for this particular tone? thankyou

    • @MichaelLennon
      @MichaelLennon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, there’s no preset. I’m just recording my Tone King Imperial amplifier and it’s Mic’d up using an SM57. Strat in the 4th position and no pedals. Some EQ and Reverb in post and that’s it :)
