it's really cool how you're incorporating a lot of their motifs from other songs like Settle Down and the City, and even a bit of the vocal melody from If You're Too Shy. I can't wait to start playing with looping this style of pop rock guitar just to have fun with noodling around in this bright poppy style I've loved for so long
Not necessarily just the 1975 but just lessons on more hip stuff. Even if it does tend to be backwards looking in a way, it’s great to not play like a step dad.
Was looking for exactly this, didn't expect you to do a topic on the 1975 but I couldn't be happier! Can you make a tutorial to get that tone on the HX Stomp? Cheers!
Yes please more The 1975. have always struggled with the lead tone in "Sex" (sounds so much like a synth to me even though it isnt) if you had any ideas what would make a good patch for that song.
Another fantastic video and this on one of my absolute favorite bands. You cover a ton of ground here for their style, but if you were gonna do more videos on them (yes, please): Looking for somebody to love It's not living (if it's not with you) If you're too shy (let me know) Would be great! Thank you for this!
Great lesson. By the way, I just used your truefire code. Great discount on Ariel Posen lesson. I was looking for you on truefire though. I thought you had a lesson on there. Hopefully soon.

Okay, everybody with me now: One-a-and-a-And-a-and-a-Two-a-and-a-And-a-and-a-Three-a-and-a...
She's American would be a cool lesson.
love that guitar its the perfect shade of yellow...and sounds like the spankiest of bells
Oh my God this was so helpful. Can you cover more of the 1975 guitar playing style?

Great opening John Cordy, one of the best UK modern players.
Yes, absolutely more The 1975
Love the tone you are using John. Sounds like you got some slight chorus in there with compression. Great song by this group.
0:56 creamy tone 🍦
Been looking for something like this for a while. Keen for more.
Please more 1975 videos!

He has already done a video few years back. Just search 'John cordy 1975 hx stomp'.

Guitars are insane in this song. So groovy
Awesome video! Love their guitar work

Next time can you cover "Robbers" by The 1975....?? I'll be expecting soon😊
THANK YOU
Great lesson! Hope you do more.
the first riff reminds me a lot to Dirty Boulevard from Lou Reed
More 1975 please!

is the tone coming from hx stomp?? can you do a vdo on this patch??
Congrats on getting some support from TrueFire. I've purchased lots of their lessons-great guitar instructional resources there. -Tom
Is there a tab or something to follow on a little better? love the video btw
Do a “She’s American” tutorial! 🙏
JOHN ARE YOU SERIOUS? 🖤
love the like to dislike ratio for this video
Anyone know why he refers to “root, 9th, 3rd”?
Rather than “root, 2nd, 3rd”?
what is the guitar you are using
Where did the synth tones on the intro track come from? SY-200 or a ‘real’ synth?
Straight forward synths in the DAW I think!
@@johnnathancordy ah, I thought so but was hoping I was wrong haha. Have you found the SY-200 very useful after the first look?
Pretty sure chords go G A D for IILWY
1976 would be better.... Just sayin
