My favorite part is when Alakazam and the A team go missing while trying to fight Groudon. Like 60 in-game days go by, with everyone in town getting progressively more worried, a B team gets sent in, they come back without even seeing Alakazem, and THEN you go in to save the day with literally no one thinking you can do it. It's a really cool way to build up the tension in a way only a game like this can.

HYBRID THEORY: There's a theory that Pokemon Mystery dungeon(red rescue team) actually takes place centuries after the events of Detective Pikachu(but only if the villain succeeded in merging humanity with pokemon-kind). It explains the human-like society, the knowledge of human beings despite their absence, and ninetales and gardevoir's experiences with real humans (ninetales is just extremely ancient, and gardevoir is a ghost). Imagine if you're a pokemon, and your great great grandpa tells stories about these strange otherworldly creatures . But the only evidence left are crumbling ruins that could EASILY have been made by pokemon(which are now endowed with human intelligence, but you don't know that). And no one you've known has EVER SEEN a human, so how real could they be? Eventually you'd chalk it up to legend and folklore believed only by the most superstitious of pokemon. This may also be why a human from a different timeline has to be chosen. These human-like pokemon are neither entirely human nor pokemon. They're a blend of the two, and for some reason they may lack something that only humans originally had. Since the MC is "freshly" blended, they may have stronger qualities of both human and pokemon aspects, which the spirits decided was neccessary to save the world. Playing the game with this in mind is a mindfuck.

man you just hit home at a personal sweet spot, so many people randomly share fundness for mystery dungeon, we never realize how we years later might randomly encounter these other humans that share fundness for the same thing just the same way as we hold it dear to ourselves. It is always a pleasent experience, maybe somewhen i will in the future watch a youtuber making youtube videos about your youtube videos and then there will be a shared community fundness of random individuals who at this very current time for example watched this video.

Explorers of Time is one of the games I remember most fondly. I was 7 at the time when I got it shortly after release with my DSi and I used to play together with a friend and we'd always talk about how to beat the game because our stupid 7 year old minds couldn't wrap our heads around it. I think I've never beat it in the end as far as I know, I don't think he did either, but it remains one of my most favourite games ever. That soundtrack is just phenomenal and it made Kecleon a mainstay in most of my teams in regular pokemon games. Sad to see that it isn't on Switch/most older games aren't. Would really like to replay them.
There’s a site (emulatorgames DOT net) where you can download an emulator and even PMD Time so you can replay it. You can even get Sky, which is objectively superior due to additional content and Pokémon. Considering that Nintendo hasn’t taken down the site after all this time, I think that it’s either okay, or Nintendo just doesn’t care enough to do anything about it. Also, depending on where the hacking community is right now, you might be able to load a custom emulator on the switch or something. I also struggled, with my 7 year old brain, to beat the game. My younger self always did missions in beach cave to rush the story, rather than tackle harder dungeons. However, I did eventually beat the game thanks to persistence and a ton of stun seeds and reviver seeds.
This game was a good time when i was a kid. I was surprised by the maturity of the narrative and the difficulty made me keep playing as a kid. I wonder how well it holds up.

Honestly, I preferred the Gates to Infinity game's storyline. Still wacky as hell, and emotional in the end.
If Gates To Infinity's gameplay wasn't dumbed down as hard as it was it would probably be the best game in the series.
