The Chair (2002 ABC game show)

The Chair, a game show brainchild of Julie Christie, Darryl McEwen, and Brian Bigg for Touchdown Television (now known as Eyeworks Touchdown), started in New Zealand. For its debut in the United States, the show featured the legendary tennis icon John McEnroe as host. The Chair aired on ABC, captivating audiences for nine episodes from January 15 to March 18, 2002, before its premature cancellation left four episodes of its initial 13-episode lineup unaired.
This episode was rescued from a VHS cassette purchased on eBay from the Detroit area. It is presented with commercials for maximum nostalgia.

Man I barley remember the Chair airing back in early 2002! A big thanks VHS Escape for uploading this first episode! Sucks it only lasted 9 episodes due to low ratings, competing with the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics at the time, and high production costs!! Again thanks, John McEnroe was not a bad host at all! I often wonder if he remembers this stint?

Had no idea that the Digiorno stuffed crust pizzas were around in 2002. Guess I missed out on a lot by not watching that much TV. I also did not get ABC because I lived with my grandmother who did not get it as she lived in the boonies in Alabama. And if I was somewhere where the chair was on I completely forgot it was on

I never got to watch this show when it was originally on becausemy grandmother did not get ABC and when I was somewhere that got ABC I forgot it was on. But my grandmother got Fox and I missed The Chamber when it was originally on. Just as well though.
