This is the U.S. Premiere Intro of the heart-pounding quiz show "The Chair" hosted by tennis legend John McEnroe. It premiered on ABC in the United States on January 15, 2002, and though it ran for 9 episodes and 4 were still not yet been airing. It also still features the contestants underwent medical supervision. This was the first and only version that started it all before the original New Zealand version aired. It has a potential top prize of US$250,000.

The show was removed from the schedule after 9 of its thirteen episodes aired because of declining viewership. What really caused the show to be canceled, however, was the show’s high production costs. It was the most expensive game show at the time of its premiere.
