The Sloth Sculpture

This metal art piece was definitely challenging. A sloth's face is very hard to create out of scrap metal. It took a few tries to get that smile, but I finally got it. :)

For this metal sculpture, I used a lot of bike gears, springs, random bits, and fork prongs for the head and claws of the sloth. Tig welded everything together excepted for the base, which I mig welded. I used the oxy acetylene torch to shape a lot of the gears. All around a good art project that challenged my abilities, which is always fun.
