Making a Sea Turtle from Spoons

I got the idea for this sculpture from a previous art project I did, the kingfisher. When I was working on the bird the way the handle twisted and connected to the spoon reminded me of a sea turtle, so of course I had to make a sea turtle. :)

This art piece was made pretty much all spoons with a gear and a wire for the base. I used tig welding to weld every thing together and used an oxy acetylene torch for some heating and bending. It was fun to work on some aquatic life, definitely gonna be doing more in the future.
