I always enjoy making insects for some reason. This one is a luna moth, they're one of the cooler looking moths in my area. It was a fun sculpture to build. :)

I used bike chain, nails, wire, expanded metal, cutting blades, drill bits, and other pieces of scrap metal to make this art piece. I used tig welding to put everything together. Did a little forging/blacksmithing for the tail of the moth. And used muriatic acid to give it the rusty look. Also, I put some small pieces of green stain glass to give a nod to the green color of the luna moth. All in all it was a very fun art project to make.

It was fun watching you make it too :-) There's that sweet moment when it changes from a bunch of metal parts into the thing you're making. Well done!
