Dude, I’ve been looking at try to get me a poncho, but my folks say I need something that’ll actually last. You got any tips or recommendations on buying a used poncho?
@@mannyboidotexe low mileage, for sure, also when buying a used pontiac i would recommend to see if the HUD is working on the drivers side, i got my mimis pontiac which had about 130k-140k miles on it and its still chugging along without any problems, but one thing about the grand prix is that it scarfs down oil quick, so frequently check the oil once a week
My favorite sleeper is the Volvo C30 T5. It only has 230hp but what most people don't know: Ford used the same 2.5l inline 5 engine for their first gen Focus RS with 305hp. So you can easily get more power out of that Volvo than anyone would expect.

The 0-60 on a Mazdaspeed 6 is 5.4 seconds. Mazda underrated the figure greatly which they're known for. Car and driver got 5.4 secs as well as many others. Just a 411.
Why get an Aero when you can have a drop top Viggen? But if you want a real SAAB sleeper I can't believe you left out the Saabaru, the 9-2X. All the upscale look and feel of SAAB but it's really just a Subaru WRK underneath. It's already a sleeper and extremely tuneable.
Straight up the Mazdaspeed 6 is HEAVY but fun. Handles fairly well. Plenty of upgrade paths with a bit of research. I've had 3 so far. My pick. However, the Marauder is tempting. ---Just my two cents.
Thank you for finally showing the Swedish sleepers some attention. And if no one wants a wagon the S60R is the sedan version with all the goodies, less weight and a 0-60 of 5.4seconds after 2005

I drive a Taurus SEL 2016 , the suspencion is track ready and very stable when turning corners ,pretty balanced for the weight , perhaps if the SHO wasnt as heavy as it is would have much more potential, I would consider getting one if the Yamaha tuning on them wasnt a nightmare to get right once it breaks.
Fav sleeper. 2004 dodge ram 2 door short bed, with tow package and 3.91 posi. 345 hp, add a ram air for 300, move the air temp sensor, remove speed limiter, a good programmer for about 350, you're looking at 400 hp, for a 5000 lb truck with half tank of gas (weighed it on a DOT scale). Add 100 shot of Nos (which the engine can easily use without blowing up). There's 500 hp for a 5000 lb truck, not only that but it has a factory transmission cooler, factory posi (as an option), 3.91 gears, no MDS (multiple displacement system), and can tow 9500 lbs. They go..unnoticable as long as you take the 2 hemi badges off sides of the front fenders.
Back in the early 2000s after I came back from Afghanistan, I built an 84 "sleeper" turbo 300zx (the ugly duckling version of the Z) out of a Non-turbo motor with a single Garrett 66mm turbo that pushed my stock 160hp to over 550hp at the wheels, and would smoke tires at 65 on the freeway. Exterior had the stock (ugly) gold paint, stock wheels, upgraded headlights, that's it! Only thing that gave it away....the 3 inch exhaust and VERY loud Tial blow off valve. Mind you, this is back when there was NO aftermarket for these cars. So suspension, everything done to the motor, and even my T5 swapped tranny (out of a Mustang), ALL custom. You couldn't tell I spent over 12k in upgrades from the outside, but that's the point right? No gaudy stuff, stock looking with a full interior that ran mid to high 12s in the quarter. Love the videos! Keep em coming!
Honestly, a Porsche 911 Turbo S is the most underrated tuner car with unlimited tuning potential. To the average car person that doesn’t know Porsches well, it looks like a Carrera with a bunch of big vents. But little do they know, their past 3 generations of the Turbo S had 0-60’s at 2.2 second, 2.8 seconds, and 2.7 seconds 😏. Destroy supercars on Sunday, drive to your law firm on Monday.
I have a 1991 Nissan Bluebird. It has a sr20dett engine, 5 speed manual transmission and 4wd. The engine has been blueprinted and balanced. It has twin turbos and intercooled. I do have a lot of fun leaving a lot of more expensive cars for dead. If I leave them at the lights, it's more fun as I am a female. I also did all of the work myself too. Over the quarter mile it runs around 11 seconds
Almost bought a tuned Saab Aero once, ended up with a Mercedes C32 AMG instead. I nominate for inclusion on this list the Jaguar XF Supercharged. Same basic 5.0 Supercharged V8 as my XFR but you can find 2010-2012 for under $10k. The XFR came with 510 hp, and the major difference from the Supercharged is tuning (pulley/tune gets close to 600 hp). Not too much different from what you get with a newer F-type R - except you can't find those for under $10k.
The Talon is also known as a Mitsubishi Eclipse and Plymouth Laser '91-94 (all manufactured under DSM/Diamond Star Motors banner) with 4G63 motors (like a Lancer EVO). Careful going above 400 who with the AWD variants with stock axles... They'll break after a couple too many (i.e. like a half-dozen lol) 5k clutch-drops.
I have been very impressed with my 2013 focus st. It's got got it all, bang for your buck, clean factory lines, and muscle car heritage running through its veins. Surprised it didn't make the list...
I owned a 1st gen gsx with over 300hp and a bolt on v70r. Both cars surprised alot of people. I actually placed second in street class autocrossing with a v70r
My favourite sleeper was my buddy’s ‘88 Toyota Cressida. A basic looking sedan version of a Supra. With a 2.8 inline 6 naturally aspirated and RWD, man we had some fun. Sounded awesome and indestructible.
I HAD a 92 eagle talon tsi awd 5 speed white/ white wheels with blowjob tint. A few simple mods went from 11.4 psi boost to 15 psi. That car broke a many hearts on the quarter mile runs. And 1/8 of mile I was never outrun in that car. ( Most cars just weren't that test back then) I bought it in 97. Cherry car. Anyway, I saw the speedo of 145+ in 5th at 7k rpm. Wish 3rd gear was just a little taller or 4th gear a little shorter for the quarter. Best time in qtr. 14.21 @ 98 mph, not bossa nova by today's standard, but like I said, sleeper. They don't spin out of the hole and would go anywhere, mud, ice, snow. I miss it everyday. 5.slow mustangs never stood a chance. DSM 4 LIFE!
My brother bought a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Supercharged. Street Legal and trailer hitch has Parachute for 1/4 mile Drag Racing. 192 mph.. Bad ass car. New it's 100,000. Grand.
viscous all wheel drive not vicious. Good video all and all made me aware of some sleepers I wasn't familiar with. Start to lose me with all the ads slipped in on top of sponsorship plugs 😣
We were running the Fbodies at the drag strip and someone had a Marauder that ran 12.18-12.25 consistently, he drove it every day in season. It stayed cool too.
2 sleepers I had them both first is the 1993 to 1997 Nissan Altima it was a fast car for the time and came with the same engine that was in the first gen 240sx Ka24de. Out of the box it had 150hp but could be naturally tuned or even turbo . Mine was stock back then except for suspension upgrades and o was taking one 3 series and c class all day long in the late 90s. 2nd car is kind of rare and that’s the Saab 9-3 turbo x for 2008 or Saab 9-3 aero xwd. Car came with 280hp out of the box but can be tuned to handle way more for its 2.8 v6.
I keep seeing (and often buying) Lincoln Mark 8's for ridiculously low prices. 290 HP all aluminum quad cam 4.6 V8, rear wheel drive, all independent suspension. Lots of weight reduction from the factory compared to it's sister Ford Thunderbird which weighs almost the identical amount despite all the extra luxury involved. And since that generation Thunderbird was available with both the Windsor V8 and the Modular V8, swap potential is built in. Last year I bought a 95 Mark 8 for $500 and it was in very nice condition. Look for the 97-98 versions as they have updated intakes and a few other improvements, and LSC models have a bit more power and steeper gears. Best scenario is to remove the aluminum crossmembers, suspension, and differential and swap them into a base model Thunderbird and that will likely drop about 350 lbs (guestimate) down to around 3300 lbs still with full interior and accessories. Not exactly a lightweight but well on the way.
1975 mustang 11 with the Lima block (2.3 ) stock bottom end, milled head 10 to 1, ,ported, stainless steel valves, crane cam,(stage two) solid lifters, adjustable cam gear, Offy split port four barrel manifold, with a 390 Holly, Hooker header, points, Blaster coil, and split fire plugs,7 qt oil pan .bone stock was around 85 hp, im sure my engine made around120-140, this was 30 years ago and I had to put an octane booster in the gas tank
I have a 2013 buick lacrosse that claims 303hp. Fairly cheap but the interior is surprisingly nice. Actually has leather stitching. And I definitely don't have a problem merging into traffic. Lol.
Nope... dangerously inaccurate. This isn’t the first time he’s exaggerated or said very wrong information like in one video he said “the 3rd generation MazdaSpeed Miata” never happened.... I worked for Mazda in Hiroshima as well as stateside, the MSM was in 04-05 in the second generation. He doesn’t fact check anything. Like saying Eagle Talon was an American car created from a “parts bin”. Nope, rebadged Mitsubishi with a different taillights. TSi = GS-T sigh.
When it comes to SAAB I really like the late 90s early 2000s 9-3 VIGGEN, it's a sleeper. underrated, and mostly unknown, everyone thinks it's an architect's or college professor's car with some nice wheels on it. No, it's a humble little beast. Most people I talk to have no idea what a SAAB VIGGEN is.
My favorite sleeper was my 89 mx6 gt turbo they use to be Ct state trooper car back in the days man I'll hawk anything down and my had no governor so you already know.
My stepdad had a 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero and I hated the thing just because I hated my stepdad and I didn't realize at a time what a beast the thing is. He still has it but it's broken down and hasn't been driven for years. I think the head gasket is blown or something.
87 nissan maxima was another sleeper. Used to have one. Same engine as the 300z of those years. But fwd, also came in a 5spd manual. Said to be one of the best gen Maxima's ever built. Hella fun to drive even stock.
I had a 2015 SHO w/Livernois tune (450hp) and was one of the quickest cars I have ever owned! Only sold it to buy an E55 AMG. Still miss the SHO, especially when it rains…
My dad owns a Marauder, I love the car and while it may not be my dream car (spot reserved for highly modified DMC 12), I would love to own one myself. I doubt I will find one in factory blue like my dad's though, there were only around 300 ever made
Back in the day when the CRX Si and similarly smaller JDM performance cars were showing, Mazda had a 323(?) turbo hatchback with dual rear wings (kinda like the British Ford Escort performance version) or with a single wing....I thought that was incredibly cool and without the spoilers a real surprise.
A rare sleeper nobody mentions is the 91-94 Subaru Legacy ss. Colin McCray put Subaru on the WRC map with this car. Only 688 were sold in North America.
A few weeks ago I passed by a parking lot full of cars that belonged to members of a car club.....A Volvo Car Club. Needless to say I thought to myself "WTF?" and I had to stop and check it out. Talk about some Street Sleepers! It was awesome!
As a proud owner of a Pontiac grand prix that im saving up to modify, i give this video a seal of approval

Just had a dream about my GXP the other night... I miss that car
My brother bought a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Supercharged. Street Legal and trailer hitch has Parachute for 1/4 mile Drag Racing. 192 mph.. Bad ass car. New it's 100,000. Grand.
I had a 2011 Ford Taurus SHO and it’s probably the funnest car I’ve ever owned
I drive a 2000 Buick Regal GS 600 hp just from a few mods and a sick dyno tune. You should talk about those cars
My 1991 Dodge Spirit R/T was my favorite
viscous all wheel drive not vicious. Good video all and all made me aware of some sleepers I wasn't familiar with. Start to lose me with all the ads slipped in on top of sponsorship plugs 😣
My Choice, the VR4. I would love to Toss that around the Track.
I love my msp6 , great car all around great in summer , winter , straight line racing and hitting the twisty bits plus it fits the kids
Aa
Aaaaaaa
Aaa
My favourite sleeper on this list is the Ford Taurus sho as I just love the aggressive styling of the front
Mark VIII is 🤤.
Poor Mustang fanboys got second treatment after a classy, sassy luxurymobile that looks like grandpa and grandma's weekend cruiser.
When I saw that Marauder "hell yeah brother" chanted in my brain lol
When’s the video about a Chevy ss coming out ??
my dad had the v70r ......the TURBO IS SOOOOO SICKKKK....1st car i learnt to drive on when I 14
1975 mustang 11 with the Lima block (2.3 ) stock bottom end, milled head 10 to 1, ,ported, stainless steel valves, crane cam,(stage two) solid lifters, adjustable cam gear, Offy split port four barrel manifold, with a 390 Holly, Hooker header, points, Blaster coil, and split fire plugs,7 qt oil pan .bone stock was around 85 hp, im sure my engine made around120-140, this was 30 years ago and I had to put an octane booster in the gas tank
I have a 2013 buick lacrosse that claims 303hp. Fairly cheap but the interior is surprisingly nice. Actually has leather stitching. And I definitely don't have a problem merging into traffic. Lol.
Gallant is my favorite from this list
I love how enthusiastic Brad is. No wonder his name is Brad Danger, its cuz his videos are dangerously addicting
Almost as addictive as raid shadow legends.
@@ashiqkhan4718 Yeah but a bit more than that
Nope... dangerously inaccurate.
@@hollywood4n6 I said addictive not accurate and you can't expect him to be 100% accurate
Ha that’s my nefews Volvo walking that red corvette in the beginning. 800+ hp. Bandimere Speedway Colorado
Damn cool Volvo
I just bought a Mazda speed 6 and I did not know about this thanks
There's a video here in TH-cam of a heavily modded MS6 nailing a MCLAREN on the quarter mile drag. Overwhelming!
Right on! The Mazdaspeed 6! Finally some recognition.
toyota cressida with rear wheel drive is also a very good one
When it comes to SAAB I really like the late 90s early 2000s 9-3 VIGGEN, it's a sleeper. underrated, and mostly unknown, everyone thinks it's an architect's or college professor's car with some nice wheels on it. No, it's a humble little beast. Most people I talk to have no idea what a SAAB VIGGEN is.
The Gallant is my favorite, by far
V6 accords are crazy sleepers idc what anyone say
10:25 AAAYYYYEEEEE I freaking love my GXP
I love the saab 9-5s especially the wagons. Great style for a sleeper and a blast to drive.
Wow. "Viscious Real Time 4-Wheel Drive" 😁 Straight we Todd did.
My favorite sleeper was my 89 mx6 gt turbo they use to be Ct state trooper car back in the days man I'll hawk anything down and my had no governor so you already know.
0 -60 in 7.6 sec not bad .
6:30 XD thats a crown vic!
I’ve got that Taurus sho. Super heavy car but the handling is great.
My stepdad had a 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero and I hated the thing just because I hated my stepdad and I didn't realize at a time what a beast the thing is. He still has it but it's broken down and hasn't been driven for years. I think the head gasket is blown or something.
Got a VR4 downstairs in the garage. Nice bit of boost put in it and I love it!
That Vr4 Galante use to put shit to rest on the streets back in the day. I still stand by that car.
For the new ms6 owners fbo and hpfp you'll be beating stock v8s depending on the model. It's a fund vehicle. Wish I still had mine
Wasn't Eagle Talon made by Mitsubishi?
I think it was.
2005-2009 legacy gt. Had 3 of them, amazing sleeper cars
Brad is definitely better than the other guy
yes, their heavy but good old Crown Vic is a good starting platform. boost me up scotty.
My favourite sleeper on this list would be the Pontiac Grand Prix gxp
My favorite sleeper was my 85 Toyota Cressida 5 speed. A Supra with 4 doors.
Watching this during school 👌🏾
What about the old sho? I like those too
Only 220hp and their manual transmission is crap.
