Worked with many South Africans, smart people. Glad to see this couple enjoying themselves and making a success outside of the issues for their group in SA.
As Thai owned very small restaurants with hired one European chef my cost is 100k per month with work permit and company but sadly more foreigners do a lot of illegal business and make price cheaper than legal company I’m totally supporting anyone who make it legal and yeah real truely understand Thai.
I really enjoyed this Ryan! It’s always nice hearing how others are living in Thailand! 🇹🇭 Have a great weekend! I hope Otis is feeling better! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I 100% agree with the message from them and you. That is. Not to just lounge around on the beach or in the bars. Find an interest, hobby or even open a small business that you are passionate about. Success comes easier if you are passionate 🙏
Totally agree. You can always do something on a volunteering basis, and just give to the community as just a few thousand bahts can go a long way, $5-10k even better! 😊
Good to see how the younger generation is making a possibility of making a life in Thailand, making a living whilst still having a great standard of living. Fair play to them. Thomas has done alright. Fair comment about how Thailand could make life simpler without such rigorous bureaucracy.
Great interviews and though I'm at the opposite end of the financial 'scale' to what Tomas is, I really enjoyed the interview with him, more so than the young couple. Maybe because Tomas and I are very close in age.
Great interviews and hope to see more, especially as diverse. Stuck between a 6wks final scouting trip end of this month or next (might delay?), or just waiting and start selling and packing up for good. I did live in patong for 9mos in 09, and 6 wks in 17(between Chiang Mai, phutket, Bangkok too), so I'm not going blind. But the world and traveling is becoming so different and unsure) lockdowns, wars?, etc) right ? 🤙 Aloha from Maui 😎
the second speaker talked about the prices in Villa Market and Tops for 'European' food; I have also wondered how I'd manage with finding/affording organic or free range meat (as i choose in Germany) - the differentiation or availability doesn't seem to be a big thing from my browsing of Thai supermarkets/street markets, compared to Europe (if you are interested in either higher nutrition or caring about animal welfare)
Respect for Thomas ! I will visit him when we moved to Koh Samui we will travel to eat at his beautiful Restaurant And good luck for young couple too. I can tell they going to make it !!! if they stick to each other. Good luck and thank you for another good video!!
Thailand still a great option compared to here in America and the cost of living. But wow gyms are expensive compared to America. Planet Fitness is $10 a month in Oregon.
I am part German but I am a little bit of everything he seems like a great man and a great business man I love his German accent ! Looks like a beautiful restaurant do they.have Thai food any other food! I love the decor in the restaurant! Lovely! Thank you Ryan I loved these videos great people and interviews! I am older so even I can dream! Wow stem cell treatments fantastic! Amazing! This man is amazing yes retiring you have to do something it's better off like he said you need a purpose! That restaurant the outside is amazingly beautiful! Oh I follow a lot of wonderful Russian influencers I love Russia amazing people! I know your wife is an amazing women! Wishing you all the best!
Great vlog Ryan. Interesting young couple...and cat! Bikes always meant pedal bikes when I grew up. Living with traffic in a tract house 10 minutes by petrol bike to the beach and working at home is not why I moved here, but realize many do live that way even in Pattaya on the Dark side as it is called. Incredibly cheap rental they got! Respect to the Eden Grill guy, quite the entrepreneur for the wealthy. What business people he and his wife are! Retirement and alcoholism is easier with way less carbon footprint! 555 No car, motorbike, house, pool, stress, headaches, deadlines, number crunching, money handling etc...
I love their house its really nice and such a nice couple and Ryan your such a people person! as wondering around what age they are maybe around their late 20s ! Somewhere?
Hi Ryan, I loved so much these to interviews. Many informations, experiences and advices. As we are expecting to retire soon in Thaïland it gives us many point of views even if we come every year since 30 years now! Thanks!
This is the great vid. (2.20) I like this be cuz it's true that sometimes I don't like Thai women try to made a joke. This is that's I think made your colleague frausted.
5000 baht on food for the 2 of them. What do they live on air. Water must be bought to drink unless you have a filter. A poor frugal Thai would struggle on 2500 a month on food.
Great video, the thing Germans are famous and stereo typed for is being very organised and being on time so living in Thailand will take a lot of adjustment and patience, but Thomas seems to have made it work. It would be very intresting to here more about his clinic for stem cell treatment.
Definitely like the country end of Thailand better, the more touristy spots seem low end and focused on boozing, cheap western food and sex. Just wondering if there is local upscale dining , locally sourced, even if it involves insects and the likes which actually could be very interesting and worth the trip! Thailand 🇹🇭 obviously has huge potential, I hope they can make their transition to a world economy without trashing their roots and maintain their originality, preserve the good, adopt the best!
You have very weird view of Thailand. Go to Bangkok its a huge metropole and you can have AS HIGH END life as you can in Manhattan or HIGHER forexample. For a fraction of the price. The high end condos are so high end you would have to be a billionaire to afford lifestyle you can live for so much less in Bangkok...
A realistic budget is 100k per head if you include all the costs for visa, work permit, accounting, traveling, insurance etc. Without rental fees of course
Props to you Ryan. While these are lovely people, none of them are doing the native "Thai" lifestyle that you and your family are. I don't get the appeal of wanting to move to a place like Thailand in live in Phuket or Bangkok...
Everyone needs to keep in mind that this is only possible because oil is traded in US dollars. If/when the dollar collapses and you’re living abroad you’ll be sitting ducks.
You’re mainly getting old American Boomers who are by far the worst generation in history. Very greedy, entitled, and narcissistic. You can have em all
You’re mainly getting old American Boomers who are by far the worst generation in history. Very greedy, entitled, and narcissistic. You can have em all
But it'll be Everywhere !! And you can definitely survive easier there, IF, you still have $ at least coming in, or better, got a little farm , No major bills, and a little stash For sure !!
I like how Phuket is so international. Sorta like a miniature Singapore or Hong Kong. It's just sad that there's not a lot of industries on the island besides hospitality and leisure. There should be a tech or start up scene there for international young people to work for.
Thanks for coming along on this journey guys.

In terms of big spenders in Thailand, you've gotta go interview some of the Russians in Phuket.
Worked with many South Africans, smart people. Glad to see this couple enjoying themselves and making a success outside of the issues for their group in SA.
Agreed
Interesting interview! I’m Thai myself and learning so much from different walks of life! Love this!
I find Thomas more relatable since I have lived here full-time since 1977. I don't work and don't have kids but I can still relate to his lifestyle.
As Thai owned very small restaurants with hired one European chef my cost is 100k per month with work permit and company but sadly more foreigners do a lot of illegal business and make price cheaper than legal company I’m totally supporting anyone who make it legal and yeah real truely understand Thai.
Merci pour cette belle vidéo avec deux intervenants différents qui ont apporté chacun leurs visions de dépenses.
I really enjoyed this Ryan! It’s always nice hearing how others are living in Thailand! 🇹🇭
Have a great weekend!
I hope Otis is feeling better! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Excellent video mate..hope to see more soon..
Thank you for sharing this. Especially appreciate the insights into online business in Thailand from Thomas
Very interesting to hear the two different lifestyles and experiences of these Thai Expats. Well done Ryan.

Thomas seems to be a great guy and a born entrepreneur.
Such a great vlog Ryan. You have a lovely way with people.
Excellent video Ryan super insightful!
How does the big man cope with the heat!
Great episode!
Great interviews and though I'm at the opposite end of the financial 'scale' to what Tomas is, I really enjoyed the interview with him, more so than the young couple. Maybe because Tomas and I are very close in age.
Great vlog. Love seeing a glimpse and budget of people's lives in Thailand.
Fantastic video Ryan thank you both for the interview

fantastic insight into budgets, and what a variety of businesses to run in thailand just in one video. cheers ryan
Glad you enjoyed it my friend 🙏😊
Very nice video. Good to see the contrasts, also at different ages and stages in life👍.
Great vlog thanks

I am amazed by your hat wearing. With the young couple, no hat.
Rich German bald guy, you wore a hat.
You are very much in to psychology.

You must eat out at , and, golf clubbing it ! But that's great for you supporting the country.
Sitting here in More about the stem cell stuff. That you guys were talking about?

First couple seems like yet another content creator trying to justify spending their time in Thailand.
Each to their own!
And what if they are?
