You can't anything to eat that has nutritional value in the states for $6.00. That diet coke and a bag of potato chips would cost you $6.00 here. I'm heading to Thailand next year. I still work full time now but im planning on retireing next year. I'll be 63 years old and I could live off my social security payments that are projected to be about $2000 a month. You give me hope of finally getting out of this rat race for survival in the states. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Safe travels my friend.

I hope the exchange rate stays strong for you. You need an income of 65,000 baht per month to justify your retirement visa in Thailand unless you have the ability to deposit 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account and leave it there for 3 months prior to your renewal each year and 2 months after.

I’ve just turned 29 and realised I could rent out my own home and live somewhere like Thailand! I wanna get £150k saved as well and have dividends pay around £500 per month (4% rule) would be around £1500 between the dividends and rent :)

Diet Coke next to the black hair dye...HILARIOUS! Love it!
Another great video. Very informative. Thanks for asking for feedback. Here's mine:
+ When and how do you decide where to travel to next
+ What source do you use to confirm Visa requirements?
+ Airfare - Airline, cost, what search engine do you use, do you book directly with airline, and how far in advance do you book.
+ When you visit a NEW location, when and how do you book the first few nights stay?
+ How do you search for, find, and book the longer 3-4 week stay
    + Funds
    > How do you access cash and avoid International Fees and get ATM fees refunded
    > Do you use rewards credit cards - if so which ones
    > What percent of restaurants you show allow credit card payments
Thank you for consistently uploading videos every week and covering aspects of full time travel that other vloggers don't cover, or just skim the surface.
    Aloha!

Hi Chris, another great 30 days costs video, yet without the total it costs you to live for 30 days in Hua Hin? If you could provide a total cost, it would be really useful my friend. Also, did you miss out costs for drinks and entertainment, plus any groceries you buy for snacks and the room etc..? Cheers :)

I also only have carry-on, when I do one of my round the world trips. For laundry, similar like you do yours, I have a small zip-lock with laundry detergent sheets, unscented, and they just dissolve in the water. No stink, no mess, and easy to carry.

What physiotherapy are you doing for the sciatic nerve pain? I had the onset of severe sciatic pain in my left hip/leg/foot 4 months ago. Had no idea what the deal was because never had anything like that before. The problem turned out to be a dessicated disc between L4 and L5 vertebrae. So I watched some UTube videos on physiotherapy for sciatica/lumbago. Started doing the moves daily, about 20 minutes per session, felt better immediately. After about 1.5 months, all the pain and tingling and weakness was completely gone. I also took some strong anti-inflammatory medicine for the first week, because according to what I was told, the cause of the pain is sciatic nerve inflammation. Now I am in the know about spinal alignment and vertebae spacing. I really like the energy and enthusiasm of your videos!

    Interesting
I have spent at least 5 years in Thailand and was going to Hua Hin ona regular basis.
this is a place I love and in my opinion one of the ebst place to retire in thailand.
For the last 5 years I was not able to go to Thailand since I choose to set me up in south america.
But thailand is my heart country and will go back there for sure in the next couple of years as soon as all my paperworks for permanent residency in SA is done
One point that you could add is yearly cost of air travels, health insurance and so on

Consider carrying about a ten- or 15- foot length of paracord, and 4 or 5 clothes pins for your laundry kit. Stuff dries faster when it's up in the air. I use a rubber sink stopper and wash clothes in the bathroom sink. Usually the shower hose will reach so hot water is available. I also use to travel with a mosquito net and some bankline for set-up over the bed. But that s for India, Sri Lanka and SE Asia in the old days.

62, end of mos .. "Soc Sec" and Savings / Interest .. I'm "heading back" to SE Asia, to live in "cheap hotels" and travel, for a cpl yrs .. I'm waiting for spring, for that "Poison Air" quality to improve .. Living off of Street & Restaurant Food will catch up to you, esp if your Older .. You need to find or buy and easily microwave a mix of fresh Veggies (steam in a bowl with a little water & a loose lid) .. If there is a "wonder food" it's Sweet Potato (eat it every day) and eat lots of healthy nuts .. Can't go wrong with a Jar of Peanut Butter (pound for pound its the healthiest protein) .. I work out a lot and Whey Protein Powder is a great source of (cheap) Protein (easy to carry) I'm sure you could find a heathy piece of fish or chicken in a restaurant .. No offense but Your Diet looks Very Unhealthy / Bad from the Vids I've watched .. I'm not a "fanatic but" diet is Huge ..

Interesting insights into living in Hua HIn. One strange thing to note here are the comments around "running an investment business" buying and selling dividend stocks that requires a $100/month phone internet plan. Using a online broker to buy/sell equities is a simple browser based transaction. Dividends are paid periodically, usually annually or biannually and investing in dividend stocks is not a day trading activity. More common is selecting dividend paying companies as part of a buy and hold strategy. Those running a business trading equities are day traders or swing traders with large trading volumes. If your focus is collecting dividends for income, then earnings growth and dividend stability are important factors, not necessarily the stock price. In my case, my retirement earnings are primarily from corporate bond and private credit holdings that pay attractive rates of interest with a low risk profile. Trading equities is a higher risk option that creates undesirable stress for a retiree.
