Husband of Yesenia Aguilar, killed by repeat DUI driver, speaks at suspect's sentencing

- Courtney Pandolfi had three previous DUI convictions when she got behind the wheel of her white Jeep SUV on Aug. 11, 2020 and jumped the curb onto an Anaheim sidewalk, killing Yesenia Aguilar, who was eight months pregnant at the time. The couple's infant daughter miraculously survived the crash after being delivered through an emergency C-section following Aguilar's death. Now three years old, she joined her father in the Santa Ana courtroom Friday.

Fifteen years is absolutely deplorable. Life without the possibility of parole is the only justice for this young woman's murder. Shame on the US court system. Shame.

My 17 year old cousin on her 17th birthday got hit by a drunk driver and killed. This idiot was allowed to leave the bar in this small town and drive. She hit my cousin and fled the scene. She got bail and attempted to flee the state. She got 4 years and won't serve the whole thing. This doesn't surprise me. My opinion is it should be premeditated murder as they chose to drink and chose to drive intoxicated

We hold bartenders who serve the alcohol liable, and sometimes the establishment but never the judge who gives one chance too many and that doesn't feel right.

3 prior DUI’s she got away with… and now a 15 yr sentence… so that’s 4x she has gotten off easy by the system if you ask me. There are people who get the whole book thrown at them for doing crimes that don’t involve taking another persons life. Absolutely disgusting! My heart breaks for this man and his daughter.
There is one state in the US (Texas) that has a law which punishes DUI criminals. If the person who is killed in a DUI crash has any children, the driver responsible must pay to support the victims children until they turn 18 or graduates from high school. The bill is Bipartisan House Bill 393.
Arizona does the same thing with making them pay child support for taking away a parent.

Just 3 minutes in and I am sobbing. For this beautiful little one to grow up without a mother because of a stupid decision of this woman to drive while drunk deserves to rot in jail for the rest of her life. To only get 15 years is deplorable. This little girl will never have her mother for birthdays, holidays, her wedding. I hope that while in jail that other's show her how much of a bad person she really is.

This resonates with me so much as my Mom was also killed by a drunken driver, but I was 4 years old. I loathe alcohol, and the selfish people that make the deadly decision to put others in danger on the road. This is murder.

Heartbreaking my cousin was killed by a drunk driver at 19 , the driver was a Doctor and he drove off but their where witnesses, he had his day in court but continued to be a doctor after he did a couple of years Horrifically sad 😢
