    My valve was not stopping water flow. I removed top assembly and saw small piece of sand on rubber gasket which cause the gasket not to seat and seal properly, I removed sand bit and it stops now. Thank you for this video as I was about to replace entire fill valve. I would have never figured out how to access gasket without this video. Thank you so much!

    Thank you for the straight forward video! Our toilet has been 'singing' for a couple weeks. I've never worked on one before that had this type of valve. I was trying to gently pry off the cover. I thought I'd better stop to see what I could find on the interweb. Haven't done it yet, but I'm sure you saved me time, stress & probably money. Thanks! Ps-Xtra thanks for not rambling on before getting to the point like so many of these videos.

    This was the only video I found that helped solve my issue. The tank would fill but then would start making a hammering sound and would not shut off. I had to shut off the water supply. All of the other videos suggested replacement of the entire assembly. Replacing the seal fixed it. Thank you !

    I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the informative video you provided. Prior to watching, I believed I was capable of handling the task at hand, only to encounter disastrous results and water spilling everywhere. After scouring through numerous videos, none seemed to offer the solution I needed until I came across yours. Your video not only saved the day, but also prevented a costly mishap and with my wife, who jokingly placed me on house probation. Without delay I've liked & subscribed to your page.
    Wishing you continued blessings.

    Before I drove to HD and dropped $20, i popped the valve open, inspected and cleaned the diagphram and plastic mating surfaces. Presto, FIXED ! (in 1 min, for FREE). I know i might need a new diagphram soon, but for now it might have built up calcium-scale or debris, causing a tad of water to leak. Thanks for the easy fix ! Cheers 🍻

    Thank you this was incredibly helpful and fixed our problem. In our case, there was nothing wrong with the washer inside the valve, but something had gotten in there to clog it up. The valve on the floor at the base of the toilet deteriorated, and pieces of rubber from it floated up into the fill valve area described in this video, causing it to not seal correctly and continue to run.

    Thank you, this is really helpful! Question: my leak is coming down the arm of the fill valve. If I reset the cap the toilet fills correctly, but once I flush the leak returns and everything fills slowly. Not sure if my question makes sense…but does this sound like a seal problem?

    • @morganinspectionservices3840
      @morganinspectionservices3840  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think I understand your question. From what I understand, I think the seal could be the problem. I think it’s worth $3 to buy a new seal and try to fix it. If that doesn’t work, then worst case you’ll spend about $15 on the new fill valve, and that will certainly fix it.

  • @karenwestbrook5831

    good job explaining this proceedure, I have replaced the stem less than a year ago, and started having over flow problems (from the flush handle, the tank is overflowing )about a week ago. I have adjusted the float to the correct place, and replaced the seal inside the stem. it's still leaking, any other suggestions?

    • @morganinspectionservices3840
      @morganinspectionservices3840  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can’t say exactly what the problem is, but there’s obviously a problem with the fill valve other than the seal. I think you need to replace the entire fill valve and see if that doesn’t correct the problem.

    • @gregt9576
      @gregt9576 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You don't have to replace the entire valve, just the upper half of the stem. Some videos show how to do it. For me replacing just the seal never worked.

  • @ke-murakreations9721
    @ke-murakreations9721 ปีที่แล้ว

    This video is very helpful thank you very VERY much. One question, I just did the replacement and it’s no longer spraying water, however I am noticing a little trickle of water is still flowing. Is this normal?or should I be concerned? doesn’t look like it’s overflowing 🙏🤞

    • @morganinspectionservices3840
      @morganinspectionservices3840  ปีที่แล้ว

      A properly operating valve should shut the water flow off completely. If you still have a trickle of water, then there is still a problem. Did you flush out the valve when you were changing the seal as I showed in the video?

  • @matthewexline6589
    @matthewexline6589 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What I don't understand is how that little metal pin's position inside of that valve seal controls whether water comes out of the overflow tube or not.

    • @morganinspectionservices3840
      @morganinspectionservices3840  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a very good question. Unfortunately, I cannot explain it either. I think that would be a great topic for some research and a new video. Stay tuned!

  • @josephina4792
    @josephina4792 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I just changed the valve seal, and it still leaks. Any other suggestions? In fact, when I saw it wasn't working, I took the cap off again, and noticed the seal was no longer seated. After several tries to get it right, it still leaks. The new seal looks exactly like the old one, yet it won't seat properly.

    • @morganinspectionservices3840
      @morganinspectionservices3840  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As long as you put the seal in correctly, and it is still leaking then there is a problem not related to the seal. It’s probably time to change out the entire valve. This is not too complicated. Unfortunately, it is not nearly as easy as replacing the seal that you already did. Here’s a video to help you.

    The old seal looks fine on mine, I've cleaned it but its still leaking, a lot while its filling and then when its stopped it changes to noisily dribbling out.
    Is there something I've missed? I've just ordered a new seal but obviously if its not that then I've wasted a few bucks.

    • @morganinspectionservices3840
      @morganinspectionservices3840  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’ve changed a couple of seals that looked ok, and it still fixed the problem. I’ve learned that bad seals do not always look bad. There is no guarantee that changing the seal will fix your problem. Other than flushing the valve out by putting the cup over it, and changing the seal, there’s not much more you can do. If one of those two things do not fix the problem, then you’ll probably just have to change out the whole valve, and I have another video on that.
