Whatever Happened To My Left Foot?

Remember the personal running challenge I set out to do a few months ago in Florida? Unfortunately it was derailed due to a foot injury I sustained on my second day of running. I was hobbling around in pain over a nine day trip in Orlando/Kissimmee and Miami. I was despondent because I had never hurt myself to such an extent, going out for a simple run.
What ever happened to my foot? Did I break it? Was it just a sprain? Do I need a walking boot? Will I need surgery?
