I'm a Northerner, and people like these two are the 'salt of the earth' types. They'll help you as a matter of course, and not expect a reward. Good lads. Wowzers, well this got a lot of likes! Thanks people. I would like to clarify a few things about the above post as the comment section seems to have gotten a little confused as to my meaning: It is obvious fact that all places in all locations harbour some unsavoury types (I shan't go into detail), as much as it is fact that all places breed some very decent, well mannered people. My use of words was to place them in that decent bracket of people, which is commonly referred to up North as 'Salt of the Earth'. It was not to say that the North is the ONLY location to create salt of the earth individuals. I was merely stating that they epitomised the northern version of said demographic. I hope that helps people and thanks again 🙏
Jokes aside it's sad that they all witnessed a man die right in front of them, then had to go on the news the next day where the hosts are all breezy and laughing. Just a weird vibe to start with, even without the cruel memes that followed

No, it's the face he makes that became a Meme. (Now dead RIP). (REPLYING TO A COMMENT THAT WAS COMMENTED 4 YEARS AGO!). It occurred at 1:57 (The guy with the Ginger hair, making a facial expression, but happened quick). However, he didn't say it. People got annoyed since he didn't say it. Even though he actually didn't say it, but gave a facial expression about it.
Ok let's look at the story here. These boys witnessed a man die and stepped into action to help out. In such a situation, your emotional response is being repressed to perform critical functions. After traumatic events, people often find they have an automatic response to shut down and dissociate as a means to stay safe at a perceived threat. So now these boys are in a strange situation, with cameras, a nervous situation with people talking about a serious incident in a cavalier way. A very surreal situation. My guess would be he's experiencing an adrenaline rush from the situation and zoning out because it's just too much to handle. From the description of what they did it is clear he's able to make astute decisions under pressure. It's funny how people with no life experience can look at this and laugh and make fun, but it just shows that you've not been through difficult situations, or have very low empathy levels.
Dude. People laugh at litteral death. My classmate was like "yo check this out" and it was someone blowing their head off with a shotgun. Sometimes its easeir to shut those emotions off than deal with them
Watch Brian closely. His mind works a bit differently. He’s eyes are always wandering around the room. This is why he knew what to do to get the doors open. He’s constantly distracted by his environment, but on this day, that became his strength.
He's probably just a trained killer, trained killers are always surveying their environment for exits, enemies and the means in which they can dispatch you, be it a chair leg or a rolled-up newspaper.
Martin is a champion for how well he helped out Brian with that difficult situation. He made Brian the hero he is and buffered him and his obvious struggle with the social interaction. Great EQ young fella.
At some point he asks the host "u wot m8" - so in reality "you what mate ?" being "what are you talking about ?" Its all about making fun of accent here.
These lads are northerners so champion has a different meaning, in the north of England a champion isn't someone who prevails in a given skill, it's in fact a word that is used to describe enjoyment of something such as a football win, decent sex, or a good meal. *"That were champion that!"*
It takes a level of courage and strength to do what these young lads did. Most grown men would have trouble doing what they did. Glad they were there to help out .
Their parents were definitely proud. I’m impressed by how quickly they took charge of the situation but most of all that they helped everyone else instead of just getting to safety themselves. That is heroic.
@@eazy-cheez-e8033 it doesn't even make sense though. The "u wot m8" thing is meant to be emulating a cockney accent (i.e. London) but these boys are from around Manchester or nearby, an entirely different part of the country. And the way in which they organised the passengers, helped those in greatest need first, and even had the foresight and aptitude to press the door release at precisely the right time really goes to show they truly are salt pf the earth lads. Not to mention the clarity of thought they possessed in such a "hot mess" situation. The fact the bus started rolling backwards just as everyone thought the danger had ended, must have put severe strain on the nerves and cool thinking that these great lads demonstrated - yet they once again sprung into action. Even attempting to slow the rolling bus using brute strength alone. Cracking job lads. Your parents must be so proud. Definitely need an award.

Are you serious? I live in Britain and I can say, he does NOT say "U wot m8" it doesn't even SOUND like that, he says "U want tell em?" -_-
That’s because he doesn’t say it. The meme comes from a snapshot of this video, solely because his face happens to match the tone of U WOT M8 on that image (& he’s the typical sort of british ginger teen that would say something like that)
The internet is weird.
@This is the best name I could come up with this is a definite r/rareinsults
I'm American, and I got that too. And even if he did, it wasn't even memeable. It was so silent I missed it, and he clearly said "you want...". Why did this lameness get so much hype in the title? I must be missing context or something, because I don't get it. It's just a sad, but heroic story from what I can see.
I'm deaf and English isn't my native language, but there wasn't "u wot m8"
Poor boys just witnessed someone die and the presenters were having a laugh
Its a fun story. Lighten up

Fair play to the lads. Being on tv at that age must be very nerve racking. I can remember when I was at school public speaking was tough never mind being on tv.
Two decent young lads. Well done. Actions speak MUCH louder than words.
'U fockin wot m8?' doesn't relate to this but those boys are heroes!

By looking at the comments, did you Americans really never know that we British people wear uniforms
Hope these lads are living life to the fullest.
The bus went out of control and the ginger lad shouted, "u wot m8?!" and the bus suddenly stopped (by the power of "u wot m8?!").

Can clearly see Brian is traumatized by everything that has happened. Suffering from PTSD, he shouldn't be on a news show, well done to them lads.
Brian is stoned
@@tommaguire8363 he's also a young lad who watched somebody die not too long before this interview.
@@administrato1234 mate trust me he's not like this on the interview because of trauma, he either doesn't do well whilst on camera and being on the spot or he is genuinely just a bit stoned lol
Nah he’s traumatised by his own reflection
That red head kid was born a 67 year old northerner.
Bless him really helping his mate who’s lost his voice Awh heartwarming
They still look like they're thinking about what they're going to have with their tea
When I used to drink heavily in my early 20s possibly my top three drunkest I had two lads like this carry me around half a mile to my house, laid me on my couch and wouldn't take £20 off me and locked me in and posted my keys through the door. Really good lads, I'm a pretty big guy but in that state I couldn't do anything and they could have had everything I owned.
We need an update from these two dudes. Over a decade has passed so let’s meet the two 25 year olds and see how things have worked out.
Ive never seen a teenager called Brian until now 😭😭😭😭

Bless their hearts , true heroes, great ones two
sad that they are made fun of only because of their appearances
The internet is a bitch
I know right, fancy only picking on their appearances!!
Shit humans feel brave behind a screen, that’s how it is… thankfully, they come to show their true colors. I bet those people, if they were put in *their situation,* wouldn’t have been *nearly as heroic if at all.* Bless them!
@@tomwebb7091Exactly. Not fair at all, some people… ugh. They’ll always be heroes and those trolls can’t take that from them, not ever! I hope these boys are happy with their lives and they’re where they want to be. :)
Redsock sitting there thinking it probably wasnt a good idea to spark up a bifta just before the interview
I think he's on something stronger... like a frontal lobotomy.
Then he went on to form a very successful band King Krule, top lad.
Came for the meme and was actually blown away by their story instead.
He says "You want to" as in he's asking his mate if he wants to answer
Both lads clearly decent for their actions but the red guy is a legend. If I were ever on TV I'd like to be like him. Honest, calm, no nonsense, despite the supposed professionals asking banal, silly and basic questions. I'd have binned the clowns in the suits off straightaway after.
I don't think Brian is awkward or nervous, I think he's sad from seeing the bus driver die :(
I think he's trying to spell "breakfast" in his head.
That look the lad on the right gives after she says "like superman" 2:36 is so funny.😂🤣 He is just not bothered by all the attention at all!
Well done to the two lads for rising to the occasion. They weren’t expecting to become famous from it that’s for sure 👍
