Wouldn't it be easier to just clone the 1.TB HDD to 1.TB SSD?

I would say, no. For drive cloning on Windows, you need a third party program. Also, most of the times, while cloning you need both drives plugged in the system at the same time, which in some cases could be more difficult to manage for a beginner. Also, there could be issues when cloning to a bigger drive than 1TB. If I am not mistaken, you don't even have to format the new drive, the xbox offline update through troubleshooting should take care of it. I included the step because I wasn't 100% sure, if it works with no issues every time.

@@will_neithan I understand, but for non average users it's not a problem to use Easus Partition Manager to clone a drive. You only need a "office PC" for that process. Most PC's usually have 2-3 unused S-ATA cables, making it easy to connect the 1.TB Xbox HDD and a 1.TB SSD at the same time.
My 5 year warranty recently ran out on Xbox, so i finally bought a SSD for it today. Gonna clone it to SSD tomorrow and i hope it's 1:1 for real.
I already had 8.TB in the console USB ports for years. 2 x 4.TB Seagate Xbox branded drives.
HDD's in USB port on Xbox One X is faster than the slow internal HDD...

Definitely, as you can see on yourself, if you are a non-average user, you can take initiative on your own and upgrade the process if you feel like my guide has unnecessary steps. If there is someone who does not have experience with stuff like this, even opening up a PC and connecting the drives, if you don't have two external interfaces, could be a stressful activity. That is why I offered one solution, that, I believe, requires the least amount of more advanced steps. That was my philosophy. Good luck with your upgrade! 8TB.. that is a lot:D

@@will_neithan Thanks. :) There is nothing wrong with your guide as it's for casuals. :) Funny thing is that you post a guide 7-8 years after the console launched and i'm upgrading the HDD to SSD around the same time. It's never too late. lol
My Series X/PS5 console is my gaming PC and Lenovo Legion Go handheld PC.
      Fun fact.
Xbox One X runs some games better than Series S and looks better than Series S versions.

@@V3ntilator "Xbox One X runs some games better than Series S.." THIS!!! I wanted to upgrade from my Xbox 360 just so I can play all the games from the Gears of War saga and at 60 fps. So I didn't want to invest into Series X, because after Gears it's going to be sitting on my shelf. And when I looked at in-game comparisons between One X and Series S, many times the One X looked better. So I bought a secondhand, upgraded the SSD and the Xbox still does the job very well after all these years:)
