I booked this hotel (room with terrace) last night for end of March holiday. I’m really looking forward to it!

hi julia i will go next week... what transportation you advise in order to visit Madrid.

There is a metro station on the same block of the Riu if you're comfortable navigating! There are over 300 stops and I walked passed many stations. Many of the sites are walkable depending on how much you enjoy walking. We did a combination of taxis and walking and I was happy with that. If I return to Madrid, I'd walk and take taxis again. Have a great trip!

Not nearly as expensive as in Barcelona. From the Riu to El Rastro (near the Royal Palace) was around 10 Euros. I don't think we spent more than 30 Euros in a day on taxis, but we planned an itinerary in advance so attractions were near one another. In Barcelona, we were spending about 70 Euros daily on transportation. Madrid is amazing. Have a great trip!

What are some excursions you would recommend for Madrid and Barcelona? We will be there in two months :)

You can cover a lot of ground on a tuk-tuk or rickshaw tour. I'd definitely recommend either. I have videos about the tours and also the Flamenco show in Madrid. The rickshaws and tuk-tuks are all over Barcelona. We booked in advance and had them pick us up at the hotel, but you could easily find a rickshaw in the tourist areas of Barcelona.
In Madrid, I'd get tickets to the Royal Palace online, take in some shopping, a flamenco show and do the Tuk-Tuk. In Barcelona, my favorite stop was Ciutadella Park. We also went to Barceloneta and Las Ramblas. I wish we would have spent some time on Passeig de Gracia shopping. We bought tickets to Sagrada Familia online, which was great because we walked right in. Have the BEST trip!

What room type did you rent?

This was a deluxe king bed room with terrace. It included breakfast. I was so surprised and delighted by the view! Would be a great room in the summer.
