    This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that's the way I like it!

    A pay-to-view bar: a nice innovation. :)
    I've been a happy customer of Tui (and, by extension, Riu) for over a decade. It's rarely disappointed but the food in the Riu hotels has never overwhelmed me.
    I'm liking your varying of the backing music; some competitors latch on to a piece that can be as annoying as an insurance company's 'listen to this while we deal with other customers' music. (Your title music has been well chosen. No need to change that!)
    Air France next, I see, with possibly the most elegant stewardesses in the European skies. And their safety videos are works of art. Looking forward to it.

      Thanks very much. Honestly I feel like Tui is in a giant blind spot for Americans (my self fully included)- had to google how to pronounce it before I recorded haha. Package holidays are so just not a thing in my part of the US (other parts rely on them more so) so a couple years ago I knew what Tui was, but if I thought about it probably would have assumed it was a dwindling model. Happy to be proven wrong and explore it more!

    Definitely enjoyed the video, not sure how l feel about this property, the $20 p/n upgrade soured the experience. Always appreciate how honest you are 👍

      Yeah, I’ll admit that room was worth $20 more over a standard room (with a view of the actual outdoors)- but being backed into a corner if I wanted to see daylight just wasn’t the best. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

    Yes, very true. Asia is wide ahead in almost everything, especially the quality of hotels and resorts is just really wonderful. Europe seems so poor compared to that. I am German, and I really feels sad when I see how low our standards have become from once being worldclass.

    I booked this hotel a couple of hours ago having sifted through a stack of alternatives, some of which would have given me upgrades or other perks due to the loyalty programmes to which I belong.
    And thanks to your insights, I'm pretty pleased I did. We've booked the Superior room with sofa so hopefully the view will be better than your first room - I think the difference in price was £37 for a two night stay.
    Food-wise we wouldn't be eating in the hotel other than for breakfast - I mean who does?
    The location, close to many of the sights and a metro station is a winner and the 360 views from the top just add the icing on top. The glass floor walkways are instantly instagram-able, but perhaps not after hundreds of feet have trudged across, so one for the morning after cleaners have finished...
    Gaining access to floors via the room key isn't anything strange, although my understanding was that it was a way of reducing visits from 'professional ladies' in some establishments.
    A quick pause told me that the prices of cocktails is fairly close to those in London, Leeds and other major UK city rooftop bars, so again all good news.
    Thanks for putting in the time to put this together.

    snarky is perfect word to describe some of your comments. Made me think of a more cerebral eddie haskel from leave it it to beaver. Yet, I truly like all the videos and channel.

    Now that you're out of your Vietnam resort niche, could you add what in your opinion is the hotel's unique selling point? I enjoy your videos and the variety but sometimes it feels a little random

    • @tfft
      @tfft  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure I get that ☺️. For this hotel it’s the views and the value if you need to be in that area. The reason for the “randomness” is simply because there’s no way to know for sure how a certain type of content will perform or what audience it will attract until you post it for yourself and see. I still have a LOT of content coming this year that I know won’t feel as random as this video, but a big chunk of my content this year fell into the “let’s see how this performs” category. Next year you’ll see the content will be much more focused on the niches that do well as I take what I learned this year and run with it. Appreciate you sticking around for the ride 🙏🏻

    I am curious as I live in Spain as to what is a “big box Spanish style”?

    • @tfft
      @tfft  ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience, like any other standard mass produced hotel concept, but specifically with many accent colors in the ocean blue/green category, cooler wood tones in the grey/taupe direction- with a focus on efficiency and practicality over comfort and design statement. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

    I spent about 4 months in Madrid back in 2005. Vaguely remember walking by that building a few times. It may've been a office complex or empty, I don't remember. Madrid is a fun city, but I prefer Lisbon.

      Hotel has an awesome breakfast buffet with chocolate and churros, and jamon iberico so you don’t have to buy it outside the hotel. The rooftop features amazing views and it’s great to drink a slightly overpriced drink to chill and take in the 360 views.
