There's a theory floating around that Rex is Oz's father - and only Oz's father (Jack and Benny are fair, Oz is dark like Rex). He doesn't acknowledge Oz though - probably because of the foot and how it would 'reflect' on him...
Awesome watch review my friends. This series is just getting better and better as each episode airs. Love your channel and content and i absolutely love your Hollywood shirt you always have an awesome shirt from classic 80's movies. Have a great day and stay safe and blessed. Take care and thank you so much.
Wow, Robert - I completely missed the foreshadowing of the 'Army man drowning in the glass jar' and his brother's ROTC connection. You are a very astute viewer!
Don't tell me she's not a psychopath! LOL😂 Except that I hope Sophia will get the little one out of there! She promised that she would never be locked up
Something is up with Victor. There is no reason Sophia should have left him alive. Also it doesn't seem like he warned anyone in the tunnels that there was trouble. They were all just going about their normal jobs and no one knew where he was when Oz asked.
Didn't like the loose ends....the capture of Francis how did it play out with Victor, Oz finding out plus his capture ...would rather have seen all that than the back story on his brothers
Sofia just orphaned her niece and she shot a teenager and just committed an act of terror in crown point a broken down area yet u are team sofia because oz as a kid threw a fit that led to the death of his brothers which even the creators of the show stated was not intentional have mental health checkups please your iq is too low to exist with me
@ the family who sent her to Arkham for crimes her father committed. Whereas Oz has been rotten since he was a kid and would double cross anyone just to be the kingpin. Sofia was made into this, Oz was already that person.
Yeah Oz can eat sht to be honest, to the point where it’s going to be unfulfilling to watch if he comes out on top in his own show. Sofia got her lick back on people who gravely wronged her first. She’s definitely a bad person, but you get *why* she’s a bad person. Oz is just a dead-eyed little psychopath.
I think Oz was too young to truly understand that what he did could be potentially fatal to his brothers. Think about Moon Knight - Marc led his brother underground and the kid drowned. I don't blame Marc for his brother, and I don't blame Oz for his brothers. I still lay it on Francis for being neglectful on one hand and a terrible influence on the other. Also, her anger over Jack and Benny made her drive Oz to be a criminal. Now that he's an adult, though, he's fully responsible for his actions. He's a,monster - but to me, still a somewhat sympathetic one. And Sofia is too, despite what she did to Gia. They're both extremely damaged people living in a violent world. Honestly, I don't know why Batman bothers with Gotham. What a cesspool! LOL I want Oz and Sofia to both make it into Batman 2!
nah he literally looked at the rain filling up a jar and then smiled. He may not have intentionally set them up to die but very clearly realised they were going to die and chose to do nothing about. Marc tried to save his brother and was distraught when he realised he was going to die. When Oz realised his brothers were going to die he sat back and watched a movie with his Ma. Likewise hes the middle child and his older brother was 15 and his younger was 10. Assuming hes around 13 he'd 100 percent be old enough to understand what was going to happen. It wasn't a premediated murder but he did choose not to save them knowing they'd die which is just as bad.
Yeah, I agree -- he was angry with them for taunting him by trying to make him walk down that ladder, but I don't think he thought he was killing them by locking them in. He was a kid, and he was just trying to get back at them. The smiling we saw later was him being happy he was alone with his mother.
@@thegreyinitiate3680 Yeah and another scene I can't remember which episode, Sofia was in her room and a guy opened the door for him to get in. Definitely a real dude.
I thought this ep was just okay, if I’m being honest, after 6 straight eps of pure fire. The scene between Sofia and Frances was easily the standout moment, to me. Both those actors are absolute powerhouses.
It was definitely better than last week imo. The standout scene from last week imo was the conversation between Sofia and Eve because I really didn’t know how it was going to play out. Last episode wasn’t bad by any means it was just a lot of re setting the board after the explosive aftermath of the Falcone family gassing, Death of Nadia and Taj and Oz’s betrayal of Sofia. This show continues to impress because it continually straddles the line between making Oz root-able and despicable in equal measure. The pacing is perfect, so much happens in an episode but it never feels rushed and the twists in the story are earned and never feel contrived.
I definitely don’t feel that way, I feel like ep 6 was the second best ep (after Sofia’s ep) of the show so far. There were a lot of things this week that felt cheap and/or lazy or rushed, or that were weirdly unfulfilling (like how Sal died) that didn’t succeed (in my opinion) the way the showrunners clearly intended them to (as an ironic, intentional subversion).
Also, I don’t think there’s anything there to root for in Oz anymore. Like…I’d kind of been rooting for him the first 6 eps, kind of in the “hurt people hurt people” way. You feel sorry for the guy, his mom maybe made him this way, etc. But this ep shows us…nah, he’s just a dumpster fire of a human and always has been. Sure, there’s nuance and depth, the character is well-written and generally compelling to watch when Collin Farrell is onscreen, but the cold open this week (beyond just not being enjoyable to watch, simply on its surface) irrevocably put him beyond the possibility of rooting for…ever, in any capacity…and I kind of feel like that’s a poor choice for this show to make. It’s the first thing that’s felt overtly “HBO” about this whole show. Now, if Oz somehow comes out on top in the finale of *his* show, it’s going to diminish my enjoyment of the whole series. And I think that’s a disservice to the characters, the actors, crew, filmmakers, etc, after 6 eps before this of just flat out bodying every single thing as thoroughly and completely as possible.
@@jasonmarbach I appreciate that not everything in this episode landed for you as the show intended. I personally agree with your assessment that Episode 4 was the best episode of the season but in a complete reversal of your opinion I think this was a close 2nd or 3rd best of the season. I think It adds heaps of nuance to what we both agree is an already nuanced character. I should clarify that I am absolutely not rooting for Oz after this episode but the show does such a good job of explaining why Penguin is able to justify his actions in his own mind and it’s that which makes him a compelling character not necessarily because his actions are morally ambiguous. I agree this episode firmly establishes Oz as a piece of shit but unlike your experience with the episode I found many of the story developments to be subversive and logical on both a thematic and plot level.
You think with bombs going off & crime families destroyed that the world’s greatest detective.. AKA Batman would have at least made a cameo by now .. 😀
On another reaction me and couple others said the same. There’s no way you don’t have Batman show up in the final episode. That happens and he ain’t there? This universe is centered around Batman growing into the world’s greatest detective. I think he has to show up and capture Oz. Cause in my opinion I think Oz gets all the blame and other stuff happens that causes him to be hated by everyone (rich and poor) and seen as a monster instead of loved like an idol. And he is crazy and that sends him to Arkham.
I know they’ve repeatedly insisted that he isn’t going to show up but…. At least let us know he’s aware of it. Especially since the next movie is supposed to take place right after the show ends.
The fake 'Bruce Wayne' persona is more useful to the city that has a power vacuum - not to mention he's healing from that shotgun to the chest, the electrocution, the fall, the Venom injection etc... and looking after Afred. He's still the Year-Two 'learning' Batman.
We are only a few hundred subs away from 150K! Help us get there and SUBSCRIBE if you haven't!
I love how petty The Penguin is, Maroni is dying and Oz gets right in his face just to gloat he won… that is unintentional hilarious lol
The Penguin's mom wasn't Rex's accountant; she was involved in the "Numbers" racket, as mentioned in a previous episode.
There's a theory floating around that Rex is Oz's father - and only Oz's father (Jack and Benny are fair, Oz is dark like Rex). He doesn't acknowledge Oz though - probably because of the foot and how it would 'reflect' on him...
LOVE Robert's T-Shirt!
Sofia didn't make Gia a Batman, she made her Huntress!
Oswald wrote his on story.
Her name shouldn't have been Gia, it should have been Helena
One of my favorite episodes yet so intense and the flashback was really tragic. Glad they are really making him a villain.
Do you guys ever stop and think about how you could fill 2 sold-out NFL stadiums and a high school gymnasium with your subscribers? 😂
Pretty insane to think about! 😮
@@LatetothePartyDefinitely an interesting visual.
I had the same reaction when I saw Sal beating him with a golf club 😂

My theory: Gia is future Poison Ivy. Born in a green house.
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤

I’m still thinking Oz is Rex’s son. His brothers looked noticeably like each other and not like him. (He and Rex both had black hair.)
I think it was confirmed last episode, when Oz was having dinner with his Ma and Vic.. She mentioned Rex and he says dad or something
Didn't like the loose ends....the capture of Francis how did it play out with Victor, Oz finding out plus his capture ...would rather have seen all that than the back story on his brothers
Good morning from Casa Grande "V" & Robert. "V" your hair is on point, 💚 it. Looking good too, Robert 😉. Always enjoy your reactions. Thank you.
So Batman 2 might be the gang war in Gotham and the penguins going to be the main villain with Sophia
So… Gia’s gonna turn into Huntress, right?!
i doubt the batman universe will go on long enough for her to get to that age.
I'm just gonna assume Bruce is away on official Wayne Enterprise business
@@ericb9252 Or filming a Twilight reboot 🤣
That beginning flashback. Oz was never a good person. He really did that to his own brothers. Team Sofia!
Like Sofia is a good person? She murdered her entire family and orphaned her niece. Team Oz!

Sophia's Dr. Isn't real. No one else ever speaks to him w/exception of Sofia. They are pulling a fight club.
Didn't the main doctor introduce him when she was admitted in Arkham??
Dr Ventris also talked to him while they were shocking her
Nah I mean I’ve seen this theory too, but this ep very concretely put that to bed
I thought that until this episode. Now I think he’s real. Sofia’s henchman opened the door for him.
