It's funny that instant shift to sympathy you get when you see that young couple was eating noodles for dinner and had the sick baby. They go from being villains to desperate parents in a second. Beautifully done.
Bob Odenkirk said the training he had to do leading up to this movie saved his life when he had a heart attack after the movie. He did a lot of physical training and a better diet for this role. He said he felt years younger so he kept it up. The gains didn't stop him from having it but it did make his body healthy enough to live past it.

8:35 - First time I saw Connie Nielsen was in The Devil's Advocate (1997) with Keanu Reeves, followed by Gladiator (2000). Funny thing is later in this movie, Hutch pitches the idea of a family trip to Rome, to where Nielsen's character tells the kids some Rome trivia, indirectly alluding to her involvement in Gladiator. 9:50 - Statistically, the 7 of Spades and 2 of Diamonds is the worst possible starting hand you can be dealt in Texas Hold 'Em. So his tattoo means you should fold (walk away) because otherwise, it's not going to end well for you.
This action while still not realistic is more realistic than John Wick. That bus fight had the two guys who took over for Van Damme in the Kickboxer series of movies.
I hadn't heard of this movie when I saw the "bus scene" in a TH-cam video, followed by the "where's the God-damned kitty-cat bracelet?" and knew I had to find this movie.
@29:12 The first guy he kills is the movie's director. The woman who blackmails the government employee to look up Nobody's file is played by the director's wife.
The end credit scene that you did now show definitely hinted at the sequel. The writer's strike set everything back, but Nobody 2 is scheduled for production in 2024. Great review of a great movie!
When Pops raises the remote control to turn down the TV volume after killing the two hitters in his room, you can see on his wrist the same off-suit 2 & 7 tattoo that Hutch has. Also the Barber is wearing gold off-suit 3 & 8 cuff links, implying a higher rank in the same unit. In the deleted scenes he is shown intimidating witnesses for Hutch (the DoD mole and Hutch's father-in-law & brother-in-law).
Good movie. I read a negative review that pointed out how Affleck's portrayal of an autistic person was not accurate. It's a sign of the times, I think, that a movie this good gets poor reviews. Living in a very emotionally weak society today.
This movie makes me think of a blend of something like 'John Wick' and 'A History of Violence'. I love that Bob Odenkirk plays a bad ass who isn't invincible. He can take a hit and keeps getting up. It's sort of like 'John Wick' who is all about drive and determination. But there's also the 'A History of Violence' aspect of having a family and trying to live the normal life only to realize that maybe it isn't for you. In this case you can tell he loves his family, but he was also tired of being someone he wasn't. This movie is just so damn entertaining and had a great blend of action and comedy.
A History of Violence is an amazing film, but neither of the films you mentioned has the tone and humor of "Nobody". Not criticising either John Wick (which I LOVE) or the other, just saying - entirely different movies to me.
@@i_love_rescue_animals I meant in terms of action and family life. Obviously 'Nobody' adds more humor and that's why I think it manages to stand out so much. How to do a genre film right. The anguish and frustration on Bob's face when he sees the baby on oxygen in the thieves' apartment is probably my favorite shot...and how the bus comes as 'divine intervention' right after that is so, so satisfying.
ìt's not just Bob Odenkirk getting this role, it's his idea, 'cause a couple years prior his home got invaded and he got the idea of what if... I was a special dude or something, so he got the writer of John Wick to write a story about that and this is what it became, Bob also produced the movie

I worry for Bob Odenkirk, he was filming and producing this movie simultaneously with Better Call Saul Season 6. (and he had a heart attack on set on BCS).
Goodnews, they are supposedly filming a sequel this year. Connie Neilson, in interviews is very onboard, hoping to explore her deeper knowledge of Hutch's past life.
The people that made this film also made the John Wick films. It might be a shared franchise because the stamps on the gold bars look very much like the ones in the Wick films.
This was a surprisingly great movie. Odenkirk is just brilliant at every character he plays. You both said it perfectly. It was short, it was unexpected, it was different, it was fun and action-packed. Great reaction as usual.

I like how this manages to be John Wick-inspired, but still very distinct. It has the same emphasis on clear, well-choreographed action and "less is more" storytelling, but has a more grounded tone, more of a dark sense of humor (though John Wick has plenty of funny moments too) and more realistic injuries
WOW!!!! GREAT!!! Yes lots of action!!! BOB was absolutely amazing!!! So cool!! Glad nothing happened to Christopher Lloyds character, he was great too, the look on his face he was having a ball!! Yes everyone was great!!! Yes!! Every bit of this movie was perfect!! Thanks for doing this movie, I had never heard of it, so glad I got to see it!!!!👍
I watch a bunch of reaction of this movie and NOBODY get the joke on the Walther PPK ever. 😄 By the way... the glass of door or safety panels in Turning and CNC Machines are "bulletproof" in some way. They need to be for the the safety of the operator.
I think it's not so much comparing the movie to John Wick... it's more the fact that people see links to John Wick. There are theories that both movies take place in the same Universe.
You probably know Connie Nielsen best as Commodus's sister in GLADIATOR. But she also had a very memorable role as hot-shot lawyer, Keanu Reeve's, femme fatale half-sister in THE DEVIL'S ADVOCATE. As to this movie it seems to have been made to directly criticise the unbelievable aspects of JOHN WICK. And to show that they are making this movie as a repsonse to JOHN WICK it employs a stolen kitty cat bracelet rather than a murdered dog as the impetus that lit the fuse for all the later bloodshed. And in case you still missed it, the protagonist is also seen taking in a stray cat at the end as oppsed to breatking into an animal shelter to adopt a doomed pit bull.
I think you all revied Gladiator recreantly and Connie Nielsen was in that, as well as Devils Advocate, Hunted, Basic, and 3 Days to Kill. And yes a sequel is in development!
8:40 - Connie Nielsen portrayed 'Queen Hippolyta' in 'Wonder Woman' movies and in 'Gladiator' she portrayed Lucilla, a role she'll reprise in the upcoming sequel, Gladiator 2: Rome Wasn't Built In A Day. Just kidding about the sub-title.
I love this movie. Love that he actually isn't perfect and gets hurt. I've been wondering another movie of the same genre payed respect to this one with that one character sharing the same name?
Of all the action movies of the last ten years, this one felt like it had the most heart. The whole movie felt like a love letter to old action movie fans.
Probably my favorite shot in the film is after flipping the car during the amazing Heartbreaker scene, he sits up and makes this intense silent snarl. It’s one of the first times in the movie you truly see him emoting, as if violence is the only time he feels himself

There's an internal release in the boot (trunk) of new cars specifically because Americans kept locking themselves in there.
I’m sure you noticed that Daniel Bernhardt who plays one of the thugs is literally in everything nowadays. He’s a fantastic martial artist and choreographer.
Daniel Bernhardt in the Ronny/Lilly episode of Barry season 2 is just... so fing good.
@@TahiriVeila13ABY never would I have thought that his performance would be the best in the episode and he hardly talks. And one of the best episodes of Barry.
Bob odenkirk did the bus scene himself the fighting on the bus himself and l think the other action scenes in it as well
Supposedly, Nobody 2 will happen. True Lies was tailor-made for a sequel as well, so fingers crossed that it actually happens.
I worry for Bob Odenkirk, he was filming and producing this movie simultaneously with Better Call Saul Season 6. (and he had a heart attack on set on BCS).
Sounds similar to the old Equalizer on UK TV with Edward Woodward that's why he walked slowly just had a massive heart attack
He said the training for this film helped him get healthier and saved his life
That "WHAT A TWIST!" about the knife in the wrist had me rolling 😂 👽
I was a bus driver for 6 1/2 years…Awesome.
You guys have to watch Better Call Saul, IMO it's as good if not better than Breaking Bad
I'm so happy you've watched this. I LOVED the movie, especially that iconic bus scene. I'm going to save this video to watch later, as a treat for working on a Sunday :)
Awesome Reaction don’t forget about the end credits and I love y’all dark theater background that’s the way movies should be watched especially scary movies y’all for me have the best theater atmosphere out of all the reaction commentary’s thanks very much! Y’all are top notch.
Yes... back n the day movies have me always waiting when I see the credits to see if there is a final scene or not.
So glad to see this reaction. This movie is underrated.
There were some mid-credit scenes, I hope you saw them.
Agreed. The mid-credits scene is so fun. And sets things up for a sequel.
FINALLY!! Great movie great reaction ❤🤍💜👍
Thanks for doing this movie, I had never heard of it, so glad I got to see it!!!!👍
I think the delay with Nobody 2 was Bob Odenkirk had a heart attack and then the writiers/actors strikes. It is rumored to be back in the works now.
I watch a bunch of reaction of this movie and NOBODY get the joke on the Walther PPK ever. 😄
By the way... the glass of door or safety panels in Turning and CNC Machines are "bulletproof" in some way. They need to be for the the safety of the operator.
faces must be hurting after smiling the entire movie.
Well, I am Somebody. Somebody who loves this friggin channel.
Badum tssss
"Nobody" was more realistic than "John Wick"... I mean how many times can you get hit by a car in a franchise🤣🤣🤣
I think Odenkirk wanted this movie made bc his own home was broken into.....except I'm pretty sure it wasn't Russians who did it in real life lol
Principal photography for Nobody 2 was scheduled for this year. Not sure if it happened on schedule or not, though.
I think it's not so much comparing the movie to John Wick... it's more the fact that people see links to John Wick.
There are theories that both movies take place in the same Universe.
I love y'alls reactions and I totally agree! It's perfect.
Family kicked ass ✊🏽💪🏽🙌🏾
This movie is in my top 3, and I have seen thousands of movies, it hits all the marks.... perfect.
