- I got a door panel made but another will replace it , as I’m not happy with the results. All else is going well and I plan to start body work on the passenger side door Friday #40ford #classiccar #fail on interior #upholstery
Glad your doing the interior door panels, your doing a better job than I would.
Your just being kind! 😂
We know you don't give up . Thanks Jeremy.
Not giving up yet! Thanks for watching
That door panel looks looks pretty good to me, but I'm sure you will keep at it until you get it like you want. I think that exiting from the passenger side stems from the fact that most cities and towns had a lot of parallel parking. It was dangerous stepping out into moving traffic. Some of the very early Model T cars didn't even have a driver side door. Keep up the good work, you're doing great! Take care Jeremy.
Yeah that’s what I read. It was dangerous to step out the driver’s side. I had no idea about that. My earliest memories are the seventies ya know. It was odd to me having only the one key lock on the passenger door. Thanks for following along!
I'm with you. Have never liked messing with door panels. But, with your persistence I'm sure you will get them done OK.
I’ll get them looking good eventually I think, but man it’s frustrating! I’m not good at it. Thanks for following along!
I think what ur looking for is sew foam on your door card. No worries on messing up You can always fix it. 👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yeah you’re right, I needed foam. Probably in a week or two I’ll do passenger side and I hope that I can take what I learned from this one and get it better
don,t sell your self short you are going to save yourself 3 or 4 thousand dollars, I think it looks good! Keep on going.
Thanks Mike. I’ll get it better, I think. Just not very good at it😂. Thanks for watching
Use 1/4" Foam Padding w/Scrim Backing for your door cards. 1/2" Foam Padding w/Scrim Backing for your seats. One way to keep your clips from showing through would be instead of mounting the clips through the panel, cut a smaller piece of plastic for each clip where it will line up with where you want the clip, mount the clip through it and glue it to the back side of the panel.
Thankyou, yes you are correct. Next time I will have 1/4” foam . And thanks for watching!
If it was easy everyone would be doing it . Looks good to me 👍👍
Thanks John! One more time, think I can get it
My 58 Apache pickup has only key lock on pass side, and people will ask if driver side is broke.Ill tell them no thats the way they built them.
I have a 59 Apache, and I can’t remember how it is. I’m gonna look tomorrow! Thanks for following along
Looks good 👍
I appreciate your vote of confidence lol 😂 thanks for following along!
Jeremy, I'm with you. This could cause a person to take up drinking. Terry 😊
Maybe that’s what I’ll do 😂 thanks for following along!
Looks good
Thanks for the vote of confidence, and following along!
That door panel looks pretty darn good to me!
Good advice for when I do mine - thanks! That escuteon (1/2" IPS?) is that a plumbing part? Love the keyring!
What ever you do don’t watch my upholstery videos for any kind of advice unless you do the exact opposite of me. Then u may be 👌. 1/2 ips iron- pipe- size as opposed to Cts copper-tube-size Ips is pretty much an exact fit. The collar could be a bit deeper but probably enough. Thanks for watching!
Don't sell yourself short.
Thanks for watching Jim. I think I can get it better, frustrating after several hours of work to end up with something not looking good
