~ Greatest Moment Of My Life Was Meeting Gary Rossington * It was an experience i will Never Forget .. I was backstage at a SKYNYRD Show in 2017 here in Southern California, and i was wearing an old SHOWCO shirt, Gary walked up, shook hands with me, placed his left hand on my chest, right on the SHOWCO logo, looked at me and said: That’s Sum Good Stuff Right Thar ~ I Was Blown Away ..! God Bless LYNYRD SKYNYRD 🎸🎸🎸🙏
I was there in October, a man bought the lot where Hell House was along with the area in front of the dock. He won’t develop it or let anyone build on it. Yay!! There was a house being built on the lot right next door to it☹️ It should be a national landmark so no one every builds on it. Love Lynyrd Skynyrd forever!❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Gone but never forgotten. As long as those who remember the true Lynyrd Skynyrd band, they will never die. But when the last of those who remember are put to rest, then this great band will fall quite. Those of us who have yet to cross over, dam its going to be a party when we do. As for my brother's and sisters that have gone ahead of me, you lucky dogs!!!! You be jamming with the best now!!!!
A travesty of justice...it should be a national monument to the most awesome southern rock sound in history. If you love Skynyrd, you know every note and every lick. None like RVZ...Skynyrd is timeless...its forever.
Very cool guys.. my wife and I I just walked in from viewing the solar eclipse an I picked up my laptop and started watching Hell House which was incredibly heart felt❤Thank you😊
I'm from New Orleans but have been living in Jacksonville for the past 8 years. It tickles me pink knowing this is where Ronnie Van Zant grew up I have been to all these places. Ronnie I feel you in my soul.
I'm a 66 year young Yankee from Mass and I've been a fan of the one and only original Skynyrd since day 1 and it makes me sad that this hallowed ground will be gone soon but if all the millions of us real fans donated a buck we could prolly buy the place but as long as I have my albums the memory of them will exist in. my mind!
When we go down to Jacksonville to visit relatives, I always make it a point to drive south into Middleberg, and drive slowly down Brickyard Road (where Ronnie Van Zant lived), and then wrap up the day at Whitey's Fish Camp (one of Ronnie's favorite hangouts). After all these years, I still get an eerie feeling that I'm retracing some of the same steps LS took.
I went to St John River Community College in Palatka in the early to mid 70s. In the morning the students from Clay County around Green Cove would come in the student center and sometimes have stories about what was going on down at the Hell House. I don't remember it being called that back then but I knew they were rehearsing in a shack.
Thank you so much for posting this - for a Canadian who can't get enough of Lynyrd Skynyrd - I saw Billy and Leon and Johnny in July 2001 when they were here in Toronto Canada - everyone stood up when they started Sweet Home Alabama -again thank you so much
You're very welcome! I'm a musician (Guitar) and actually played with Leon, he sat in with my band on 3 separate occasions. I really need to upload that audio soon.
Ronnie wrote the words to Freebird on that creek. Well he memorized the words because Ronnie wrote songs in his head and never wrote anything down. I met Billy Powell and he was the nicest guy. Very humble. He told me how Freebird got him from a roadie to a band member. He also told me Ronnie had no injuries from his neck down. He died from trauma to the head.

I've lived in FL all of my life and I'm so sickened by what this state has become. Why does every piece of vacant land have to be built on and destroyed? The photo at 3:39 from left to right, Ed King, Leon Wilkson, Billy Powell, Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins and Artimus Pyle. Sadly only Gary and Artimus are still alive.
