"If you don't know the VanZant Brothers, they're from Lynyrd Skynyrd". Wrong. Ronnie VanZant founded Lynyrd Skynyrd. Donnie VanZant founded 38 Special. Johnnie VanZant took over Lynyrd Skynyrd several years after Ronnie was killed in a plane crash in 1977. I now consider the current incarnation of Lynyrd Skynyrd a tribute band, especially since Gary Rossingtin passed away. That house has been added on to extensively. Gene Odom has a video of the house, and shows what was addition and what was original.
If you’re still here, you might want to visit the house where the Allman brothers began. 2844 Riverside Avenue. They don’t do tours, but it is cool to check out the plaque, and the neighborhood is all charm.
That plaque at the house is incorrect. The plane did not run out of fuel, the engines malfunctioned and had a mechanical failure and as they were going down the pilots dumped the remaining fuel in the tanks to avoid a fire.
Summer 76' we wore out both "one for the road" by skynard and "Frampton comes alive" . Every day, multiple times, day and night. In fact, in my middle school, we put a copy of both in a time capsule that the kids dig up just a couple of years ago. Not sure how they listened to em. Do the schools even have record players any more? Ha ha.
I went to all three nights when they recorded thier live album, One more from the road". Best three shows I ever saw them do. The Outlaws opened for them all 3 nights. The show's were at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.
I also have my 3 ticket stubs from those 3 nights and yes sir it was awesome. The Outlaws did a 15 minute of Green Grass and High Tides as thier encore. The Fox Theatre was wild when Skynyrd hit the stage.
Thanks for the video. Holly is awesome!
You bet!
RIP Gary Rossington 🙏
The timing of this video!
This is a badass setup 😎 🎱!!!!!
Cool, huh ?

You can rent the Van Zant house and sleep in the bedroom where Ronnie slept.
That's what she said !
@@OCDHIFiGuy lmao jerk
Who is Gary lol.
Sponge Bob’s snail
Why is this house going to shit? As of today Feb 2024 ? Is it still Air Bb ? I Don't see how?
The pool table room was once a car port. Not a very well researched video.
Lol. This is so low on my "fact checking" radar it's imperceptible. They rode horse and buggies for all I care...
