Somber, they were just so great and live on through their beautiful music. God Bless the. Rescuers for their courage and nice video!!! Long live Lynyrd Skynyrd!
During our trip to Mississippi, hubby & I drove to their monument as we've always wanted to give our respects to an infamous band that were as simple as their infamous songs!
I doubt you’ll see my comment. I happened upon your video late. I love the beauty and poetry of your video work. The piano was so spot on and beautiful. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
Thank you, that means a lot. I'm no professional, just make videos for myself. Always wanted to go to the Skynyrd Monument. Got up one morning and drove 14 hours and finally got there. Have a blessed day!
had the landing gear not been put down, perhaps, possibly they may have cleared the heavy woods, but that doesnt mean they wouldnt have crashed. yes ther was a field but not much of one with no navigation in a panic scenario. would take atleast 2 city blocks clearence to make a real difference imo for the aproximate speed etc & thats if the pilot could be positioned right etc. just a tragic loss .
@@keithsexton1263 I am pretty sure that they are the only ones from the on stage pre crash band still Alive. Unless you are referring to roadies, and security people. In that case I am only referring to the on stage band members. IE, Artimus and Leslie.
I never thought about a drone, good idea. They said when Mote owned the place, he made a place to go back there because so many people asked him where it was, he would just point, and let them find it. Many people think the monument is real close to the actual site, but it's a way back where you went. I think the tree it ended up resting around is still there; a lot of people have signed it. One was the next day after the wreck. Nice video, thanks for sharing it...
Thank you so much! Going to the crash site has been on my bucket list for decades. I drove from northern Indiana 14 hours to fly my drone for 15 minutes. It was worth it!
they were going to baton rouge Louisiana for a concert I was going to see them again I had backstage pass at Nicholas state in Louisiana I partied will them backstage
I c where your comeing from I had a new 340 dodge swinger I dint take long rain hell on those back roads and main stream mounties loved chasing us in those days rip l.s and company
Some Southern Rock has country influence or Charlie Daniels Marshall Tucker and even some of the Allman Brothers but Lynyrd Skynyrd was about as rock as you get... very influenced by the blues
I agree! The film that Artemis made is a big, huge lie. It is nothing but “the Artimus Pyle show!“. Gene Odom is the one that you want to believe he is a good man with integrity!
Love Lynyrd Skynyrd Band Member Grave ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

LYNYRD SKYNYRD. The greatest band ever to walk on stage. Barefoot or shod. Fly on freebird.
I was there early this last spring. Its a real nice place
I just set on the bench and let my mine wonder off
Been there too & felt the same..

They ran out of Fuel. The pilot was caught off guard. They came in at an angle yet the trees made them drag and Nose Dive
Artimus and Leslie are the last living members of the pre crash band.
I guess the other survivors don't matter

@@keithsexton1263hahahahahha they really don't matter
Thank you for posting this. It never occured to me that their might be a monument. This would make for a good day trip. Thank you.
I drove 14 hours from my home, and it was worth it. Thank you for the comment.

Love the music, great job on the piano whoever it is. A different way of viewing the crash site. And hauntingly tragic and profound.
Was there Saturday and Sunday. Had a great time celebrating their lives but mourning the loss.
I was there last June from France. Peaceful, elegant, fitting.
Unvergessen 😢❤
Long live Skynyrd
So sad& tragic 😥 🇺🇲🎵
they were going to baton rouge Louisiana for a concert I was going to see them again I had backstage pass at Nicholas state in Louisiana I partied will them backstage

October 15 1977. Miami Hollywood Sportatourium.
I was 14 when the plane crash happened, so I never got to see the original band.
List of fuel what a bunch of idiots, but in those days it was simple living, girls An beer
I wish I had a 1970 Dodge Challenger and I could drive down these roads. That's all I want.
Sounds like a reasonable want.
I c where your comeing from I had a new 340 dodge swinger I dint take long rain hell on those back roads and main stream mounties loved chasing us in those days rip l.s and company
RIP ❤🙏
Country rock group is he fuckin serious

Is thrre going to an annual gathering at the site this year, 2024?
If the bloody drunk hadnt panicked and dumped the fuel..... RIP
Pilot prolly did not dump the fuel. Do your research dude. TH-cam and listen to Gene Odom they most likely have the story correct.
I agree! The film that Artemis made is a big, huge lie. It is nothing but “the Artimus Pyle show!“. Gene Odom is the one that you want to believe he is a good man with integrity!
Could listen to that piona forever.
I wonder were there plane is today ? What’s left it that is.. ?
I’ve got drone footage of the actual area and took the flight path to the ground
Very cool. It was so peaceful when I was there. Got there at sunrise and spent an hour by myself.
