Thank you to Mark Cerny and the PlayStation team for being so open about your hardware and software design process. I really enjoy these keynotes and I hope to see them for future hardware releases as well!
AAAAAA i was wondering why there was no Technical Seminar on PS5 PRO this time . happy that we eventually get deep dive into technical ps5 pro hardware with Mark Cerny ASMR .THANK YOUUU SO MUCH
I don't think Cerney is name dropping DF as recognition, but more as an acknowledgement that that they are a popular resource for gamers online...not necessarily that what they say is correct or that they should be used as a resource. It would be the equivalent of name dropping Angry Joe or IGN because they have millions of subscribers not because what they say has any sort of merit or value.
@@corey_massey I mean no because he used the quote to communicate a point he was making. That's more than an acknowledgement that it exists. That's an endorsement of their ability to communicate accurately

DF like any video game outlet is media and they have a bit more technical knowledge than the average games media but in no way is Mark Cerney endorsing them in the way they are used online as the authority on games and quality.

@@Arelius_02 True. Also FSR and similar upscaling suffers in motion far more than even the poor implementations of PSSR. Something similar to DLSS quality is clearly the goal - one that'll likely be reached once devs get to grips with it
Especially because RAM isn't getting cheaper or faster like it used to. There was a 16x increase of RAM from PS3 to PS4 while also jumping 2 generations. There was only a 2x increase of RAM from PS4 to PS5. Yet the resolution increased 4x.

Let’s be honest, this should have been released before the system came out, it doesn’t help its problems, $700 with no stand or disk drive and minimal performance improvements in most games, but it would have shown the system in a better light than what they decided to do which was show to show games and point out details that the average gamer would run past in most situations, I still think the Pro isn’t worth it for most people and that it should have come with the disk drive and stand in the box, but this presentation made the Pro make a little more sense
