$40,000+ for a Golf? Seriously?
It comes with air-conditioning at that price
@@Quantumexists2.0-bx1ke wrong. Sonnyball, YOUS can’t get no go kart for 30. Add dang tax. YOUS done irked me nerve. Son, add mo tax.
Welcome to 2024. Practically every modern German car is gonna be over 40k.
£38,900 is almost $50,000 US, actually.
@@Matt_10203 Not only German cars. All cars are a lot more expensive now.
I'm keeping my Mk 7 2.0 Tdi Tech. That new 8.5 will be North of 45k with extras.
Imagine yourself going to play golf while driving your golf near the gulf of Mexico.
…and the previous car was made in Mexico for the US market….
@@WinkelHoof The US deserves nothing better.
Nice to see VW has kept the movable load floor in the boot. You can drop the floor down for higher items. Even the Mk7 could fit a pretty large TV in it.
“So well balanced”
…
“I’m understeering like crazy here”
This is what passes for journalism these days, ladies and gents.
This makes me miss the Focus ST and Fiesta ST. Those were actually fun cars to drive unlike the GTI
Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling!
Wow you give me hope
Am 49..am From norway…
Please how's that possible, I'm curious
Please how do i go about it, am still a newbie on investment trading and how can I make profit?
Don’t be confuse buying the dip in a bear market, with guaranteed future returns. Just because that company is down 60%+ from ATH does NOT make it a sound long-term investment. Make sure you’re investing in great companies. kudos to Sonia
The rims give off the energy of the OG mk5 gti rims🔥🔥🔥
WHY ARE THERE COMMENTS ALR R U EVEN WATCHING!!???
R U EVEN EDUCATION?
You need to be watching less and going to school more.
The new upgrades made the Golf 8,5 much better.
First mod on the updated mk8 has to be wheels. 😂😅
I love the wheels, remind me of MK5.
Man I wish USA got the Clubsport! But the price difference between the Golf R and the GTI in the US is much more substantial than $4K. The GTI Autobahn is about $40K and R about $47K.
I recently picked up a 2001 Alfonso di Credenza . If you have the means, I definitely suggest you pick one up.
Come on Matt, get us a circuit where you can do proper laps in those new cars. 😃
The circuit is at Mendig in Germany and a very good circuit
Am I the only one that misses the two door? Keep in mind a two door typically weighs 200 lbs lighter, thus would be faster, and a slightly shorter wheelbase would make it more toss able around turns.
Here in the States, the 8.5 marks the death of the third pedal 😢
Meh. Manuals don't have many buyers here in America.
Thanks for this awesome review Cawow and Matt! Insightful with great delivery! Keep up the work 😊
Sad to see that THIS will be the last petrol GTI 😢 For me the MK 7/7.5 was perfect!
Correct me if I’m wrong but I could have sworn if you put the car in sport transmission (toggling the D to S) then it will hold gears
The golf 8,5 gti starts at 62k euros in the netherlands... they've lost their mind.. a second hand c7 rs6 is cheaper, is faster and most certainly better looking..
Lol. Much cheaper in America.
Hi I just want to say thanks a lot for this videos you are my favorite
You might need some more pressure in the tires when doing the quick steering test!!
The MK8 absolutely had the configurable gauges just like the 8.5.
Not offering a manual is a crime
