The first time Steve Coleman made my brain positively explode due to the composed rhythms and I was waiting for the next musician to do the same! By mistake I came across your music in 2008 and in 2011 we met at the Gărâna jazz festival where I saw you live in a torrential mountain summer rain and we made a fantastic friendship!Love and hugs!
I have followed Nik and Ronin for years - Some of the best music of the last 20 years for sure, one of the best bands on the planet. This documentary series is going to be fantastic if Episode 1 is anything to go by.
@@nikbaertsch On episode 4 now, it really is a fantastic watch. It is very well made and fascinating how your explanations unwrap and bring the Moduls to life. Currently finding the conundra perplexing 🙂
@@DavidMarshall32 thank you. Julian Phillips, the director, is a real dedicated listener with an own view on the context. He is also a passionate amateur drummer. The idea of drummer‘s mind is behind all. 😉 The conundra are a bit tricky but solvable, I hope 😬 They were co-created by Dan Schmidt from the US.
So many years waited to watch you live until I had the fortune here at Mexico City. Now I'm thankful to know somebody put into images the moving and artful music you're able to create.
I became mesmerized by how you use rhythm in your piano playing. I am always listening and trying to figure the time you play and it is always a challenge. Your playing and music have become inspirational in my own music. I am so grateful.
@@colacnarcis1814 Jon Hassell is a master - we at least met when playing with both bands at the same evening at the Berlin Jazzfestival. Great person and player. 👌🏻🎶 Check our shows with guest Matthieu Michel, a fantastic flugelhorn player too…
This is fantastic! I'm so glad to see all this incredible effort coming together to make something so beautiful.
Some of the most original and exciting music I've heard in years. Love all their releases.
Agree!
Thank you for your support and interest, check the new album SPIN. We look forward to your feedback. 🙏🏻🎶

Thank you, cycles, interlocking, polyrhythms and polymeters with counterpoint make the dramaturgy tasty! 😉🌀♾️🎶🙌🏻
Took me some time to get into his music but then it suddenly clicked - Now I absolutely love it.

Wonderful! The visuals add another layer of art that is so compelling that without it, it feels like music elsewhere is missing a visual element.
true, the visual team made such a creative job! 🙏🏻🌌🌀
Thank you for the great compositions, I regularly play along with the cajon!
cool! It‘s enriching to hear, that the music inspires you to play yourself. 🙏🏻🫵🏻🥁🙌🏻
Génial

Beautifully filmed. Great to hear the thoughts on modul 58😀
cool feedback! All tracks have a new idea in it, rhythmically, dramaturgically, formally 🤝🏻🙌🏻
i remember the first time I listen Holon..so beautiful
cool, Holon is still a clear statement and a very coherent album. Thank you for your long term listening! 👂🏻
Amazing ❤ groove holds us all together 🔥 the polyrhythm of life 🙏
very true! Groove is common property - we all share it within. The resonance of the universe. 🌌♾️🎶😉🙌🏻

Danke Nik! Fantastisch! 🙏 Jetzt muss ich bitte ganz bald die Stücke hören, die deine Frau als "too nerdy" bezeichnet. Könnten was für mich sein. ;-)
Haha, die sind noch eingelagert. Sue meinte aber oft einfach Teile, ich versuche dann jeweils, diese zu klären. More to come…😉
Great lesson, thank you!

4 little 7 in a big 7. 😂 I will never understand this but i can certainly feel it and it’s wonderfully brilliant! ❤
👍🏻 it‘s like this: ……. ……. ……. ……. = 28x „.“ = 4x7 or 7x4 so equal to 7/4 😉
Oh, now I understand. 😀 I think ……. 😂 I think I am better off feeling. 😂

How would've been a collaboration between them and Jon Hassell, i wonder...
