Honestly can't get nearly enough of this stuff. The animations of time are brilliant and allow my admittedly simple mind to move slightly beyond, "Wow! That's cool!", to something closer to, "Ah, I see!". I'm very much looking forward to the next installment. Thanks Nik!
Thanks for posting this Maestro Baertsch! I was trying to remember how I got into Nik's music - Ithink it was 5-6 years ago - ECM had taken their catalogue off the streaming services, and they finally brought it back. When this happened, I was just browsing around, listening to ECM artists I had been listening to for literally decades, since ECM started in the '70s.- John Abercrombie, Oregon, Gary Burton, Steve Swallow, Pat Metheny, etc. Then I came across one of Nik's records, and was amazed. Here was some interesting jazz - but it wasn't jazz, it was something else, like Steve Reich, Philip Glass, Terry Riley, and 1980's King Crimson. I listened to all of NIk's music I could find at the time, and have done so since. It is always rewarding, and the new album "Spin" is no exception. I eagerly await all of Nik's creations!
Thank you. Top feedback, also to hear about the great artists we listened to. SPIИ is really a statement of the NOW of the band. We are very happy about the direct sound and playfulness of the band in the studio. Stay inspired! 🙏🏻🌀🎶
Interesting observation: What Lisa Rammstein does in Modul 29_14 is mostly Baguazhang and a bit of Chen Style Tai Chi, instead of dance. But I guess it’s “dancified”.
