The "stupid reason" is that Paladin always had many minionbuffs. If it would cost 2 mana we would have a Paladin Miracle deck with Leeroy + Blessing of might + 2 x Blessed Champion for 36 dmg without Emperor Thaurissan.

I just want to mention that there is a 2 2/3 card with battlecry "deal 1 damage to a random enemy" that sees play. A 2 mana 2/2 with deal 1 damage to whoever you want is a perfectly viable card.

I mean, your "blessed champion" IS different from Windfury in that giving a minion windfury still means it has to take twice as much damage unless attacking either a 0 attack minion, or face. I think a 2 mana double a minion's attack would actually see a lot of play, especially in shaman, because giving a unit both windfury and 2x attack would be 2 big steps to an OTK archetype.
Roque Moreno Aguilar it's considered one of the best cards in Arena for any Rogue deck but hey you tried also 2/2 for 2 that deals one damage is pretty much Flame Juggler except you lose 1 HP and remove the random element so y'know aggro decks would love it
Pompous Thespian isn't a strictly better card. I mean, I use Grunt as a way to bait a cabal shadow priest. Once it's taken I play my Flamewaker and LOLGG. Can't do that bluff if I play the Thespian Kripp. Wrecked
Its a win more card, the only time you would be able to play this are in situations where you were probably going to win anyways, its less versatile, its dmg is less consistent because its based on the minion you have if you have a totem golem only and top deck it its only 2 mana deal 3 dmg unless they have a taunt where as if that was a lava burst or lighting bolt you could win the game even if they have taunt. If you have doomhammer and top deck the newly 2 mana rock biter it would be 6 additional dmg where as the windfury card would be useless in that situation.
3 mana 2/4 windfury actually doesn't sound horrible... Most of the problem with the native windfury cards is that they just die easily when cast on-curve and never get to benefit from the ability that's making them more expensive. Giving one extra toughness might actually mean it survives till the next turn and you can actually do something with it.
Honestly, blessed champion + windfury +faceless on a charge minion like wolfrider, alongside maybe some rockbiters would be a pretty good otk deck. (I actually play a variation of this without blessed chapion right now. it's great ;) )

I dunno, I think Ironforge Hunter and the upgraded Thrallmar Farseer would be great cards in arena. Storm Rager would also serve as a 3 mana Salty Dog, it would prevent the opponent from slamming a big threat on the board because it would die to its high atk and is less easily removed than the ice rager. I think sarcasm is good to send a message, but you can't just come up with 3 examples that are fitting (windfury harpy, archmage and nightblade), and then fill in the rest of the video with either viable or complete joke cards: the good ol' Warsong Commander joke, the pokemon joke (that card is basically an uprooted AoW so no new design) and a Harambe joke (3 mana 2/4 taunt also already exists); and after all that you create a stupid card that has no reason to exist in either of the two classes it originates from. You want Blizzard to modify existing cards so as to have all cards be playable at any level? That would be unreasonable simply because in any competitive game there's archetypes and power shifts that form a meta which helps define the game itself. Would you ever bring a Beedrill or Seaking to the Pokemon League against the Elite Four? Didn't think so. Furthermore I think some cards are there just for lore reasons, (to be collected) monsters and characters that exist in the Warcraft universe, and were thus printed, but not made to be played. Because that's the target of the game, not professional streamers or youtubers, but the playerbase which pays money for expansions/adventures/skins and to get on par with older card sets the hardcore alpha testers already own several copies of.
A 3 Mana 5-3 see no play? I can see that for Constructed, but a 5-3 for 3 is pretty good in Arena. It's a better Shady Dealer if you have 0 pirates. It's not great, mind you, but it's definetly gonna be better than some picks in arena.

That is, instead of establishing a normalization point for stat value and effect value, they just release new stuff with higher numbers than the old content. This was my biggest problem when they introduced the standard format. The got rid of decent cards from expansions, but immortalized absolute trash cards like silverback patriarch. It makes no sense in a card to that last forever to have bad cards in it that are designed to be replaced as you open card packs.

In case you're wondering. 1) I could use a 3 mana 2/4 windfury in some fun decks. 2) Double atk for 2 mana seems pretty OP. 3) Dayblade would be good as 4 mana 4/4 deal 4 damage to face, but your version is fair, if you think that 3 damage worth something like 1 mana. Its a profit.
Love the video! I was thinking about this very thing regarding Dalaran Mage. He used to be a 2/4 with spell damage +1, then was nerfed to a 1/4. My friends and I all agree that even if he was pushed back up to 2/4, he still wouldn't be played. Then we realized there are a TON of these cards. Kinda not cool, especially since they could change ANY of them at ANY time.
Harambe also needed the battlecry "take control of an ememy minon with mana cost of 1 or less", and the deathrattle "return the controled creature back to the owner".

I think a 6 mana 4/6 windfury could see some very limited play. a 6 mana 4/7 windfury would probably create actual, very niche paladin buff decks with the 5 mana 4/6 buff copy guy.
Kripp honestly you have no idea about card balancing. Tell me how many other cards exist that are better than a 2 mana 3/2 taunt especially in an aggro meta? And by better I mean flat out better, not better if used in unison with something else. Because there is none other strictly better than it outside the 3/4 totem and alexstraza's champion, both of which are 2 mana class cards.
With your logic, the only 3/2's that are better than the rest are ones that 1) Give taunt, 2) Have charge, 3) Deal direct damage, 4) Summon/are summoned by other minions Essentially, you're saying Huge Toad > Wild Pyromancer.

It is impossible for every card to have synergies with one another because then the game would be a top deck fiesta(even more than it is now). There is a reason real card games like MtG have never "rewritten" or "re-released" a card, and it's not impossible because they are not digital, I can tell you examples of physical card games that have done it, like Pokemon TCG or YGO.
If a card is better than every other card in a void but still never played then its still a bad card. If you have a card that is strictly better than another card then you have a useless card.

I remember being told that Spider Tank is like the base-line of stats for mana, and then anything you add on top or take away will effect the mana cost. 3 3/4 baseline, add taunt? 3 2/4? 4 4/4?
I also have one card from the future that I can share with you: Alcaline Maw. It's a 4 Mana 4/2, whenever another minion takes damage, destroy it. Pretty extreme that you can make a 7mana card cost 4 and it's still not being played :D

we got a 2m 3/2 combo: deal 1 dmg and it sees no play.
That card isnt an outright battlecry though its a combo which makes it worse to play on turn two.
I always thought that they'd eventually add Elemental as a tribe to justify the Ragers, support the Earth and Fire, and then add Storm and others.

This was my biggest problem when they introduced the standard format. The got rid of decent cards from expansions, but immortalized absolute trash cards like silverback patriarch. It makes no sense in a card to that last forever to have bad cards in it that are designed to be replaced as you open card packs.

2 mana double a minion's attack, gives you a 10-mana 24 damage Leeroy. That wouldn't just be played, it would be the end-all, be-all of combo decks.
In case you're wondering.
1) I could use a 3 mana 2/4 windfury in some fun decks.
2) Double atk for 2 mana seems pretty OP.
3) Dayblade would be good as 4 mana 4/4 deal 4 damage to face, but your version is fair, if you think that 3 damage worth something like 1 mana. Its a profit.

Love the video! I was thinking about this very thing regarding Dalaran Mage. He used to be a 2/4 with spell damage +1, then was nerfed to a 1/4. My friends and I all agree that even if he was pushed back up to 2/4, he still wouldn't be played. Then we realized there are a TON of these cards. Kinda not cool, especially since they could change ANY of them at ANY time.
Harambe also needed the battlecry "take control of an ememy minon with mana cost of 1 or less", and the deathrattle "return the controled creature back to the owner".

I think a 6 mana 4/6 windfury could see some very limited play. a 6 mana 4/7 windfury would probably create actual, very niche paladin buff decks with the 5 mana 4/6 buff copy guy.
Kripp honestly you have no idea about card balancing. Tell me how many other cards exist that are better than a 2 mana 3/2 taunt especially in an aggro meta? And by better I mean flat out better, not better if used in unison with something else. Because there is none other strictly better than it outside the 3/4 totem and alexstraza's champion, both of which are 2 mana class cards.
With your logic, the only 3/2's that are better than the rest are ones that 1) Give taunt, 2) Have charge, 3) Deal direct damage, 4) Summon/are summoned by other minions
Essentially, you're saying Huge Toad > Wild Pyromancer.
zyrohnmng I am not arguing that you should use Pompous Thespian in ranked, ofc Wild Pyro is better because of synergies, but you cannot say a card is bad simply because it has no synergies. It is impossible for every card to have synergies with one another because then the game would be a top deck fiesta(even more than it is now).
There is a reason real card games like MtG have never "rewritten" or "re-released" a card, and it's not impossible because they are not digital, I can tell you examples of physical card games that have done it, like Pokemon TCG or YGO.
If a card is better than every other card in a void but still never played then its still a bad card. If you have a card that is strictly better than another card then you have a useless card.

I remember being told that Spider Tank is like the base-line of stats for mana, and then anything you add on top or take away will effect the mana cost. 3 3/4 baseline, add taunt? 3 2/4? 4 4/4?
I also have one card from the future that I can share with you: Alcaline Maw. It's a 4 Mana 4/2, whenever another minion takes damage, destroy it. Pretty extreme that you can make a 7mana card cost 4 and it's still not being played :D
