Lilo and Stitch is the Disney franchise that gets rather crazy after the first film with multiple tv shows which had episodes that makes it look like the writers have way too much fun and creative Freedom on them
Truthfully, this series is more on brand than the anime was. First off, Ai is adorable, and she stands out on her own as a drummer. The aunt wanting to take her away instead of a big tough guy actually makes a bit more sense in the sense that it's more of a local family situation rather than something beaurocratic. But it's Stitch losing his memories that makes it all work. He didn't leave because he and Lilo had a falling out, that's the one thing about the anime I legit don't like, he simply doesn't remember her and has the ability to do so once he completes this journey. Of course, there's also the interest of chinese culture, one episode even discussing the red thread of fate, which can drum up a little interest. Granted, there's much about China I simply don't like, but I can put those biases aside for something cute and a decent time killer.
"This is very odd." "What?" "626 was made to star in Hawaii. Yet, 626 has traveled to various countries, making cartoons in other regions. What can such a thing bring to table. Agent Pleakly? Will there be other interpretations of famous cartoons in other regions? Only time will tell..." - Jumba, maybe. Honestly, I had no idea that China had a Lilo and Stitch series, but I'm glad one of my favorite content creators has discovered it. Thank you for bringing this to light.
@@theothervault That is ‘cause you’re awesome and you always bring amazing things to the table. So, I thank you. And I’ll do my best to leave fun comments around!
Doesn't make sense they don't upload that kind of stuff to Disney+ that is the kind of reason people sign up to find things they've never seen or able to get anywhere else
Agreed! I guess it could be some kind of exclusivity agreement, but realisticlly I think it's just Disney wanting to keep Lilo & Stitch a packed deal in the West.
This franchise definitely wasn't over after Stitch & Ai. Sure, the franchise hasn't gotten a new animated series since then, but it still continued through various book series (Stitch & the Samurai manga, Agent Stitch and now a new comic book Lilo & Stitch series by Dynamite) and pretty soon the upcoming live-action remake. Honestly, it would be really cool if the franchise got some sort of animated revival movie in the veins as Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus, Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. There's still so much potential with this franchise, like seeing how Stitch, Lilo and the rest of the Ohana have grown since Leroy & Stitch, exploring more of outer space than ever before, especially when it comes to the other experiments such as introducing new ones or further develop the already existing ones or even have other evil genius alien scientists create their own experiments. What do you guys think?
I'll be happy with a revival movie of Lilo and Stitch if Disney is prepared to bring back the popularity to the franchise that wasn't just in Japan and China
@@Mr.Feather130 Well if Disney isn’t going to give the rest of the franchise and most of it’s non-Stitch or Angel characters/experiments that true attention that they deserve. Then hopefully the fanbase can do something about it. I know I am, considering that I’m still thinking of doing a dedicated fan site to the whole franchise (with the crown jewel of it being a in-depth multi-page history of the franchise), although I’ve been procrastinating on it’s progress for a good chunk of the time, but I’m still thinking of getting it released at some point.
Why the Hell do they not offer those Series on Disney+? I think they would probably be quite popular. Also love how one of the Alien Species are just giant green and blue Platypi with Rhino Feet😆
At the end of Leroy and Stitch, Gantu was hired back as a captain in the Galactic Federation’s Armada again, along with 625/Reuben, giving him a happy ending after being stuck being talked down to and mistreated by Hamsterviel for two movies and the entire series at that point; but in the Stitch! anime, the two of them are working for Hamsterviel again (I think the anime either said he got fired again or they didn’t address it and completely ignored Gantu’s happy ending in Leroy and Stitch). And Stitch and Ai has him working for the Federation again. Considering that Stitch did do missions for the Federation in the anime, I think it would have been nice if he and Gantu worked together on them, having the two long-time foes teaming up. Also, at 20:00, Stitch is in water which has been established as Stitch’s weakness since the first movie.
To me, Ai's biggest issue is that she's just Lilo 2.0 made in China. Which, at this point, might as well the story be about Lilo going to China to learn its culture. And as far as I know, Ai's life before Stitch has VERY low stakes. Sure, she would have to leave her hometown that she loves, but compared to Agent Bubbles, aunt Daiyu is nowhere as distant, if a bit snobbish, to her. The fact Ai's cousin has a happy life implies there's almost nothing to lose if Ai HAS to move to the city. She'd get the support she needs for the future. In fact, her life doesn't even suck that much. Her Mertle, Meiying, is more obligatory in her behavior than downright cruel. If anything, Ai's story is rehashed from Lilo without understanding why Lilo's worked. If anything, at least with Yuna, you can easily differentiate her from Lilo. When it comes to the experiments. Even though they're based on Chinese myths, they feel so detached from the experiments we know and love. Compare the Naughty Creatures to the anime-introduced experiments, and the differences are night and day. They look way too complex and overdesigned compared to the ones we know before.
Apologies for this but "If I had a nickel for everytime they made a culturally specific tv show starring Stitch, I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but its weird it happened twice."
If you think this is crazy, there's also an officially licensed manga by Hiroto Wada where Stitch travels back in time to feudal Japan and teams up with a no-nonsense samurai. Seriously.
I was just going to make a comment about how Jake long was featured on the original Lilo and stitch series and the dragons in this are completely different. Alternate reality I guess?
I remember about quite years ago, I was getting ready to leave the house and disney XD was on and suddenly I saw stitch and an episode I had no recollection on, it turned out for a few days they where running all of My friend stitch here in the USA and I was confused on where this even came from
Wait. Hold up. Wait.. what? I knew, there was an japanese version, but a Chinese one? Dunno, I want to watch that now real badly :D I mean.. there are dragons!
Now all we need is a card game based stitch show I mean think about that will make numbers and millions of dollars and of course it will be Easy for them to do since they already have stitches cousins who they could make into cards and plus we can finally get our blue eyes ultimate stitch dragon lol
So... Stitch met a girl with her older sister AND their a social worker? Wow that's so original! It's basically the first movie but in China instead of Hawaii... and like the series with all the experiments capture but they are replaced with Chillins. At least, there's aliens disguised as humans and dragons; that's a bit interresting. Not enough to make me curious about the show. Also, who THE HECK though adding dragons making love was a good idea? It's not cute, it's weird 🤢
