first of all all the match ups where terrible decks anyway, the player had 2 master peace 3 dinomight and 3 into the void 1 chicken game. The thing that won most duels was erupt.master peace is fine at 1 while diagram is limited. If a deck requires to have 10+ draw spells and rely on 1 monster that can be outed its pathetic, there are many factors that won him the tournament and master peace isn't even what did the job.

Im fairly experienced in playing true draco. everyone needs to remember that A) the player was utilizing other currently limited/banned cards B) the player ONLY had to win 4 matches. Anyone sufficiently lucky with a CURRENT draco build could have walked with it. (especially when one of them was yata lock...) c) he opened really well but never had to contend with a dragoon going second D) Bird up although a competent deck... barrier statue lock pretty much does NOTHING against true draco. it's a very favored match up the true draco pilot was very clever with his deck choices and I don't want to diminish his victory. he earned it. but there was allot more that went into it then just "lol summon masterpeace".

As a general rule I avoid videos about whole decks because of how varied decks can be, and how much time it takes to explain a deck for a top 10. BUTT one on FTK's might work since I could just ignore the intricacies of the decks and just explain the combos themselves that lead to the FTK's.
I love how you showed us the combo with Performage Plushfire, it makes it way easier to understand why the card is so powerful as opposed to having to follow the combo mentally

The fact that a lot of cards that are banned dont have hard once per turns makes me question why they ban them instead of just putting hard once per turns on them
Because TCG bans purely to sell cards. If a card is selling very well, and makes them money, they don't want to ban it. OCG actually uses the banlist to balance things, but TCG doesnt.
I don't know if you're already planning this, but it would also be interesting to do a series about cards that were previously banned! Go into the meta at the time that made them overpowered and how long it was unfair, then the story of how the meta changed for it to be unbanned.
Masterpeace could definitely come to one. he's a going first boss monster that needs a good Floodgate and his currently limited field spell to contend with a Dragoon. It would definitely bolster the deck IMMENSELY. But at one with all it's other hits, it would be fine (though admittedly frustrating for players who hate true draco). also for anyone who recommends that I watch MBT's tourney on the issue, the true draco pilot was using a plethora of other cards at his disposal through his modified ban list to give him an edge such as chicken game and into the void. in addition 2 of his matches heavily favored his deck (yata lock and Bird-up, with barrier statue essentially doing nothing besides preventing him from using true kings return). he only had to win 4 matches. His video on the subject is endlessly entertaining. But that's what it was... entertainment. 4 matches is an incredibly small sample size to judge (especially when during his PREVIOUS mbt banlist tourney, TD immediately fizzled with only one MP). Lastly for anyone who feels like discussing the possibility of MP in Eldlich... you'd be running a one of 2950 boss monster thats immune to traps and MAYBE monsters whilst cutting off your own engine to use his TAEGETED DESTRUCTION effect. It might see some fringe use... but other playsers much more skilled in Eldlich than I could probably tell you that they wouldn't run it. FINAL FINAL NOTE: Congratulations to Maverick for his win at that event. I don't mean to diminish his accomplishment and his victory there was most definitely earned. I just feel like there was significantly more that factored into his victory then just "lol masterpeace". His use of other limited/banned cards was clever in addition to his matchup knowledge against Bird-up definitely contributed greatly to his success.
Would also kind of make sense lore-wise. A monster's effects are magical feats or skills of which it is capable, so each execution should be taxing, one way or another, limiting how often in quick succession it can do this. Actually, for some effects it'd make sense that the limit wouldn't necessarily be one time per turn but a couple of times. How often a monster can activate its effect (or a player spells and traps) could be a whole new game mechanic, with various new support cards increasing that number for one turn or longer.
@@xCorvus7x This kinda fits with the whole XYZ mechanic. It would make more sense and have more impact to see these cards that can activate effects multiple times a turn, but at the cost of material. Exceeding the normal limits, so to say.
The main reason that Master Piece was so powerful apart of his effect is the fact that True Draco can use most of the good floodgates since they can remove them for tribute summon. And with master piece are much better.

Well, making the destruction effect not spell speed 2 would do wonders for Master Peace. Alternatively making it so you had to banish a spell to destroy a spell or trap for a trap would also make it fall in line

@@fauzant453 just have the effect say: "It's level becomes equal to the Level/Rank/Link Rating of the tributed monster." there are already cards that use levels and ranks interchangeably, and it's not too outlandish to do the same thing with Link Ratings.
I love these videos. I have never played Yu-Gi-Oh! competitively nor plan to. I play for fun with my friends. The ban list has always confused me. This series has shown me how overpowered cards are when used creatively in a competition.
There's that one duel in Arc-V where Dennis uses Plushfire. He Special Summons it to his opponent's field using some other card, and doesn't use Plushfire's floating effect. That's one way to nerf it ;)
In all honesty.. given how absolutely ridiculous boss monsters are today... Master Peace could be released from the Banlist. He would feel right at home with the likes of Very Fun Dragon or Red-Eyes Dragoon or many other boss Monsters.
I swear some cards like Master Peace, Denlong the first Yang Zing, and Thunder Dragon Colossus could come off the banlist and they wouldn't be that big of a deal but Konami keeps them there on principle. Which baffles me considering how broken Dragoon is and it's unlimited.
A yugituber called MBT YGO did a banlist tournament where he made a theoretical banlist, releasing Master Peace and like 50+ other cards. The winner of the tournament was a True Draco deck playing 2 copies of Master Peace lmfao. Since you're iffy on the topic I suppose there's your answer lol
How to fix these cards with Errata's: 1) Hard once per turn, and either ditch the summon from the deck part or put on some heavy restrictions (like it's effects are negated and it is banished when it leaves the field). 2) ... this one is hard, as the "busted" part is kinda the main reason to play it, it copies effects... maybe a restriction that puts a delay on when the copied effect comes in? Or make it so that the copied effect wears off after a while? I still think they should have kept the anime effect on Independent Nightingale. None of these issues would have came up if they did. 3) I'd take away the quickey status of the pop effect.... that way it can't be used on your opponent's turn for disruption. That should make it more manageable. Oh and make it hard OPT too. 4) HARD! ONCE! PER! TURN!........ that is all. 5) Again... Just give it a HOPT..... it won't be as detrimental as it was for #4, but it's abusability would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down.

The problem with Masterpeace is that it's a brick most of the time. Most lists only ran it at 1 or 2. It's very easy to search for in True Draco. The only reason to run it at 3 would be in possibly Eldlich hybrids where you're running 5 copies of the card if you REALLY want it, but that still brings up a ton of consistency problems. Dragonic Diagram limit hurts the deck waaaaay more than not having Masterpeace.
As a True Draco Player I say free my boy Masterpeace! On a serious note, I gave some thought to him being unbanned in comparison to the current meta and I say it's honestly 50/50 for me. He is actually more of a issue than Dragoon seeing he can get immunity but when I consider how fragile the True Draco deck can be with just one Diagram, and some other crazy cards out there right now, I say he can come back as it would definitely help to have an actual boss monster in the deck. Either way, I'm having a lot of fun with the deck without him and honestly, I would either like to see him back at one with one Diagram or him staying banned and having Diagram unlimited.
Another option for Neptune could be that it also copies the level of the monster tributed to bring it out. But it would still leave the door open to future abuse. But it would at least make it so that it's never any better than the Lyralusce monster at level 1
You can even go an extra plus one while milling 3 cards to your GY by using Akashic Magician’s secondary effect while it’s co-linked to Firewall Dragon. It’s all sorts of madness.
I always wondered if the reason Konami stopped releasing the Performage cards was related to Plushfire’s banning. Sucks to have 2/3rd of the archetype still locked into anime-only territory. 😭
A short term fix for Tyrant Neptune would be to change it to “can only be tribute summoned using reptile monsters”, which would mean it couldn’t work with Lyrilusc anymore. Long term a broken Reptile monster might come out, so it’d need something for that, maybe take out the 1 tribute clause.
Another way to fix Grinder Golem would be to make it so that instead of it being a Special Summon to the opponent's side of the field, make it a Normal Summon, like with Sphere Mode, and only summon its tokens on its Normal Summon. This would give it a psuedo-hard once per turn if you didn't have a way of multiple normal summoning.
For Master Peace. * Errata it's Quick Effect to be a Hard Once Per Turn. * Errata it's Summon effect to it only gaining immunity to 1 type out of the cards used to Tribute Summon it. These two changes would make it safe to come off the list. Hell you can put it to 3 at that point, it's no longer problematic. And it's able to function as intended in a balanced way.
I think I have an idea for what they could do with the tyrant neptune. They could change it's effect while keeping the spirit of it by keeping it's ATK buff effect, but having it equip one of the cards tributed for it as an equip spell, and then having it's immunity and effect copying revolve around that monster now equipped to it, so to out neptune you wouldn't have to target the card itself, just the monster now equiped to it.
I find the idea of Tyrant Neptune pretty cool. I think they should make Tyrant Neptune be like an end game boss. When Tyrant Neptune is summoned it cannot attack the turn it is summoned or inflect effect damage. The player controlling the monster cannot activate any other card effects (except for Tyrant Neptune's) or summon other monsters. When Tyrant Neptune leaves the field the controlling player loses the duel. In that way the opponent at least has a chance to try to counter and if successful the opponent wins the duel.
6:00 Back in that day I bought everything needed to play Tyrant neptune with zoodiacs and brilliant fusion. They banned Tyrant so fast that I couldn't play it ;-; At least ocg players were able to use it for a bit
I guess crusadia might still be able to make decent use of a once per turn grinder golem since they can special summon to zone Acashic Magician point to. Basically giving them a free link 2 to extend their plays and returning grinder golem to be used for link plays next turn without really needing their normal summon in the first place. Probably won't be all that broken but worth noting considering how splashable the crusadia engine and cards like parallel exceed are
Well, if that list was done now you bet Bridge of Salvation would reach top 5 at worst. It's completely useless on the field but it's GY effect is ridiculously good.
That could get gross too. It could stop your opponent from summoning the Link monster they need for their combo by making a link monster with the tokens it gives you and plonking that in the right zone on the opposite Extra Monster Zone.
Top 10 Yugioh Cards that deserves their own searchers, now that Armed Dragon has a searcher for "White Veil" (Probably not the best card to search but Lore I guess) I think we could make searchers for specific cards specially if the card has potential, personally if they make a searcher for Metalmorph with the chance to activate it in the same turn I think we could have another card for OTK potential like they did it with "Double or Nothing" and if I know Konami, as long as is not direct support for Control decks, it might be busted.
So, a different way to balance the Tyrant Neptune is locking it to Reptiles, or to restrict it further, to Water Reptiles, so that you only have to balance it around the Type. Also, for that other card you mentioned in the video with Tyrant Neptune, you can do something similar to this change to balance it, as well, like restricting it to Dark Plants.
For Master Peace, if I summoned it with, say, tributing some continuous spell (let's say Card Trader, since it's the only one I can think of at the moment) and a trap monster (like Stronghold the Moving Fortress), would it be immune to everything? Or would it only be immune to spells and traps?
@@tdawgmaster1729 It also depends on the trap monster, some aren't considered traps when on the field (like, I think, the Paleozoic ones) so with those it should be immune to spell and monsters instead of traps, I think.
The Tyrant Neptune: you can only copy the effect of monsters with a level equal higher than this card (1 tribute), and if its summoned with monsters with a lower level than this card (2 tributes) it only gets the stats
Out of all the monster on banlist who do u think is the most broken one meaning it's the most powerful card on the banlist also firewall doesn't count since it got errata and is coming off also it has to be on the banlist now no cards that were on their b4 ones now except firewall.
Pendulum as a whole, for the most part, was a mistake and Konami recognizes that but refuses to really reconcile it, they just kind of bandaided it with the master rule 4 and 5 limitations. We'll most likely see more broken pendulum stuff in the future too because it's so easy to accidentally make them busted.
I manage to beat Master Peace with current Virtual World 2-1 It just casual game with my friend, so I'd say yes its "pretty" fit in this meta. But multiple copy could be bad, maybe limit to 1 or if it need errata remove the pop effect. Let it play like BLS

So many issues could have been fixed if effects were by DEFAULT once per turn.
We could also cut down on card text that way, too.
And you'll murder reknown cheaters like Infernities from ever becoming viable ever again.

That would only fix the current problem it presents. It doesn't future proof it against other broken cards Konami well eventually spit out.

@@fauzant453 just have the effect say: "It's level becomes equal to the Level/Rank/Link Rating of the tributed monster." there are already cards that use levels and ranks interchangeably, and it's not too outlandish to do the same thing with Link Ratings.

I love these videos. I have never played Yu-Gi-Oh! competitively nor plan to. I play for fun with my friends. The ban list has always confused me. This series has shown me how overpowered cards are when used creatively in a competition.
There's that one duel in Arc-V where Dennis uses Plushfire. He Special Summons it to his opponent's field using some other card, and doesn't use Plushfire's floating effect.
That's one way to nerf it ;)

Master Peace can be immune to everything if you tribute it with all three types of cards: monsters, spells and traps.

In all honesty.. given how absolutely ridiculous boss monsters are today... Master Peace could be released from the Banlist. He would feel right at home with the likes of Very Fun Dragon or Red-Eyes Dragoon or many other boss Monsters.
I swear some cards like Master Peace, Denlong the first Yang Zing, and Thunder Dragon Colossus could come off the banlist and they wouldn't be that big of a deal but Konami keeps them there on principle. Which baffles me considering how broken Dragoon is and it's unlimited.
A yugituber called MBT YGO did a banlist tournament where he made a theoretical banlist, releasing Master Peace and like 50+ other cards.
The winner of the tournament was a True Draco deck playing 2 copies of Master Peace lmfao.

How to fix these cards with Errata's:
1) Hard once per turn, and either ditch the summon from the deck part or put on some heavy restrictions (like it's effects are negated and it is banished when it leaves the field).
2) ... this one is hard, as the "busted" part is kinda the main reason to play it, it copies effects... maybe a restriction that puts a delay on when the copied effect comes in? Or make it so that the copied effect wears off after a while?
I still think they should have kept the anime effect on Independent Nightingale. None of these issues would have came up if they did.
3) I'd take away the quickey status of the pop effect.... that way it can't be used on your opponent's turn for disruption. That should make it more manageable. Oh and make it hard OPT too.
4) HARD! ONCE! PER! TURN!........ that is all.
5) Again... Just give it a HOPT..... it won't be as detrimental as it was for #4, but it's abusability would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down.

I feel masterpiece at one would be perfectly fine. Two or three would be such a pain.
The problem with Masterpeace is that it's a brick most of the time. Most lists only ran it at 1 or 2. It's very easy to search for in True Draco.
The only reason to run it at 3 would be in possibly Eldlich hybrids where you're running 5 copies of the card if you REALLY want it, but that still brings up a ton of consistency problems.
Dragonic Diagram limit hurts the deck waaaaay more than not having Masterpeace.

On a serious note, I gave some thought to him being unbanned in comparison to the current meta and I say it's honestly 50/50 for me. He is actually more of a issue than Dragoon seeing he can get immunity but when I consider how fragile the True Draco deck can be with just one Diagram, and some other crazy cards out there right now, I say he can come back as it would definitely help to have an actual boss monster in the deck.
Either way, I'm having a lot of fun with the deck without him and honestly, I would either like to see him back at one with one Diagram or him staying banned and having Diagram unlimited.

Another option for Neptune could be that it also copies the level of the monster tributed to bring it out. But it would still leave the door open to future abuse. But it would at least make it so that it's never any better than the Lyralusce monster at level 1
You can even go an extra plus one while milling 3 cards to your GY by using Akashic Magician’s secondary effect while it’s co-linked to Firewall Dragon. It’s all sorts of madness.

I always wondered if the reason Konami stopped releasing the Performage cards was related to Plushfire’s banning. Sucks to have 2/3rd of the archetype still locked into anime-only territory. 😭
A short term fix for Tyrant Neptune would be to change it to “can only be tribute summoned using reptile monsters”, which would mean it couldn’t work with Lyrilusc anymore. Long term a broken Reptile monster might come out, so it’d need something for that, maybe take out the 1 tribute clause.
Another way to fix Grinder Golem would be to make it so that instead of it being a Special Summon to the opponent's side of the field, make it a Normal Summon, like with Sphere Mode, and only summon its tokens on its Normal Summon. This would give it a psuedo-hard once per turn if you didn't have a way of multiple normal summoning.
For Master Peace.
* Errata it's Quick Effect to be a Hard Once Per Turn.
* Errata it's Summon effect to it only gaining immunity to 1 type out of the cards used to Tribute Summon it.
These two changes would make it safe to come off the list. Hell you can put it to 3 at that point, it's no longer problematic. And it's able to function as intended in a balanced way.
I think I have an idea for what they could do with the tyrant neptune.
They could change it's effect while keeping the spirit of it by keeping it's ATK buff effect, but having it equip one of the cards tributed for it as an equip spell, and then having it's immunity and effect copying revolve around that monster now equipped to it, so to out neptune you wouldn't have to target the card itself, just the monster now equiped to it.
I find the idea of Tyrant Neptune pretty cool. I think they should make Tyrant Neptune be like an end game boss.
When Tyrant Neptune is summoned it cannot attack the turn it is summoned or inflect effect damage. The player controlling the monster cannot activate any other card effects (except for Tyrant Neptune's) or summon other monsters. When Tyrant Neptune leaves the field the controlling player loses the duel.
In that way the opponent at least has a chance to try to counter and if successful the opponent wins the duel.

I guess crusadia might still be able to make decent use of a once per turn grinder golem since they can special summon to zone Acashic Magician point to. Basically giving them a free link 2 to extend their plays and returning grinder golem to be used for link plays next turn without really needing their normal summon in the first place. Probably won't be all that broken but worth noting considering how splashable the crusadia engine and cards like parallel exceed are

That could get gross too. It could stop your opponent from summoning the Link monster they need for their combo by making a link monster with the tokens it gives you and plonking that in the right zone on the opposite Extra Monster Zone.

Top 10 Yugioh Cards that deserves their own searchers, now that Armed Dragon has a searcher for "White Veil" (Probably not the best card to search but Lore I guess) I think we could make searchers for specific cards specially if the card has potential, personally if they make a searcher for Metalmorph with the chance to activate it in the same turn I think we could have another card for OTK potential like they did it with "Double or Nothing" and if I know Konami, as long as is not direct support for Control decks, it might be busted.
Shoutouts to MBT trying to explain to us how master peace can come back and then proving the opposite.

So, a different way to balance the Tyrant Neptune is locking it to Reptiles, or to restrict it further, to Water Reptiles, so that you only have to balance it around the Type. Also, for that other card you mentioned in the video with Tyrant Neptune, you can do something similar to this change to balance it, as well, like restricting it to Dark Plants.
For Master Peace, if I summoned it with, say, tributing some continuous spell (let's say Card Trader, since it's the only one I can think of at the moment) and a trap monster (like Stronghold the Moving Fortress), would it be immune to everything? Or would it only be immune to spells and traps?

@@tdawgmaster1729 It also depends on the trap monster, some aren't considered traps when on the field (like, I think, the Paleozoic ones) so with those it should be immune to spell and monsters instead of traps, I think.

Pendulum as a whole, for the most part, was a mistake and Konami recognizes that but refuses to really reconcile it, they just kind of bandaided it with the master rule 4 and 5 limitations. We'll most likely see more broken pendulum stuff in the future too because it's so easy to accidentally make them busted.
