      Depends on the age. I notice that people 30s and up tend to wear Adidas more, because one thing that Nike has lowered itself to these days that has really turned me off personally from their brand is putting out so many shoes in so many bright, non-matching colors and weird colorways. That SCREAMS, "Hey, look...these shoes are for KIDS!!! We hope they buy them because the wacky colors catch their young, go against the norm eyes!!!" That REALLY narrows down the number of Nikes I have to chose from, even if I love the design of a specific shoe. For example, I LOVE the design of the Nike Ja Morants, but as a person older than 25, most of the colorways are so loud and weird that I LITERALLY couldn't wear them with anything expect maybe a pair of blue jeans and a plain white t-shirt, and I don't want to have to restrict myself to that multiple times a week just so my Ja's get enough wear to make me feel like I'm getting my money's worth. So Adidas---while still being stylish and innovate---is much more practical from that aspect as well when it comes to different options with color combinations.

Btw, each pairs aren't the "good" ones, I got both pairs at local shoe store for 150 bucks on a new year sale. For some reason, my nike degrade more compared to my adidas. Nike switched to a squeakier rubber material for their running shoes; they obviously won't squeak when you're outside, but as soon as you go indoors, you can't help but make a lot of noise. Happened with my last pair of Alvords & switched to Pegasus with no improvement. You take the Yeezys out the picture, what is ruining Nike is the resellers. And this concept of making only a small amount of shoes. They effed up basketball bc they stopped the hyper dunk collection. There signature athletes are really not getting exposure. I’m glad!

    • @loapsneakers
      @loapsneakers  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Whether reselling is good or bad for a brand I have no clue. I think the brands get a lot of exposure from it and it creates unmistakable a hype. Also it makes it more fun to collect if the brands release smaller batches.
      Reselling dates back for over 20 years, only the market was less transparent around that time. We used to bid on Ebay all day long.
      Imo stockx gave easy access to everyone and his mother to become a reseller and that caused an increase that led to the situation of peasants starting to resell not giving a damn about sneakers.

    • @jaybar33
      @jaybar33 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@loapsneakersI’m showing my age here, lol! I remember when reselling was for a small market. Reselling was for hard to find sneakers. Now, these scum bags are buying up general releases. So you can’t even enjoy a regular shoe. Nike didn’t care bc it guarantees that there inventory is bought up. Sneakers was a culture, where it allowed people to express themselves. Now, it’s an idiotic money grab that has pushed real sneaker lovers away!

    • @loapsneakers
      @loapsneakers  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah definitely. I must admit that I am making a living from reselling. As a sneakerhead I am extremely happy that I am able to do that. With this channel we want to give something back to the community and capture sneaker stories for the future generation.
      I also need to acknowledge that you are right. At some point all GR's that looked good were bought up by the resellers as if it were specials. That certainly changed a lot.
      Now it seems to get back to the old days, with exclusives only. Not sure whether its because of the brands increasing stock numbers or that they hype reached a lot of non-sneakerheads that are losing interest. But as long as I am able to practice my hobby I am happy with that.@@jaybar33

I can't buy a $60 pair of Adidas and they will look and perform like they are WAY more expensive than $60, but if I buy a $60 pair of Nikes, they are going to look and feel like I only paid $60 for them. Also, Nike's quality has declined so much in recent years that even if you buy a nice looking pair of Nikes that cost $200, there's a good chance that they will be uncomfortable, have quality control issues, and start wearing down quickly. Welp Adidas is just cheaper, more slick, as comfortable as Nike (tho they cant compete with Air chamber, but the Nike Air chamber is not durable at all, it brakes or collapses, while Adidas Cloud foam is just fine..), this is the main reason why... Also the color scheme of most Nike shoes are just nasty and ugly, i see many ppl wear Nike, yet most of these shoes are so ugly, dumb colors, too many colors, or even the shape of it is ugly... Meanwhile Adidas has way better color schemes, that are slick, and just look good. And when u add to that the lower price, i will never consider Nike, as they are way too overpriced, why should i pay 50% of the shoe price, just for the brand, no thanks...

Once adidas and kanye jumped over the jumpman, nike came in with full force getting virgil abloh to design a full collection of sneakers, jerry lorenzo to create the nike fear of god collection, travis scott to release his take on air jordans, drake/ovo at the time was working with jordan brand, sean witherspoon dropped his take on the air max, and while maintaining collaborations with brands like supreme, undefeated, stussy, and clot. Nike and their marketing team does know how to generate hype and now that kanye and adidas are cutting ties, even when adidas recruited beyoncé, bad bunny, pharrell, jeremy scott, and jerry lorenzo… it’s not even on the same level or even close to the impact of kanye
