    It’s crazy how this isn’t even about “emasculating” a man. It’s just about respecting someone’s boundaries and being a decent human being. Most of these are 100% emotional abuse!

    • @karlaotte6787
      @karlaotte6787 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      Yeah, I feel like these don't have much to do with harming someone's masculinity (except the father or other person helping one), but like basic respect for a partner. That's so sad 💕

    • @TenderNoodle
      @TenderNoodle ปีที่แล้ว +34

      Yeah most of these seem like intentionally toxic behaviours and not really “emasculating”

    • @vanillepuddingsonnenschein4727
      @vanillepuddingsonnenschein4727 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      Yes and this makes the term "emasculating" kinda misogynistic because that means that respecting someones boundaries is something only men deserve.

    • @yvonnes7412
      @yvonnes7412 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Yeah and men do some of these as well. You can see the clear boundaries being crossed. So a woman may say that she feels the man doesn’t love her, while the man calls it “emasculating.” Either way, it’s crossing boundaries and damaging relationships.
      Not gonna hide it, I might feel the same, for example if my husband asked someone else for help with something I can do. But I think this one is a little different for men because they like to be helpful for respect (it’s like someone is trusting them so it’s a form of respect).
      **Watch out here guys, women like to help for love… so if you don’t praise her for her cooking, etc, she might be hurt … this counts for your mom/sisters too

    Most of these are very messed up!
    However I gotta say, I distinctly remember when I was a kid my mom asking my dad to fix things around the house. He wouldn't fix them for weeks or months, so she'd eventually get fed up and do them herself, and then my dad would get annoyed at her and say "I was getting around to it!" from the couch 😁
    I don't think it's unreasonable to be expected to do things in a somewhat timely fashion. But all the other things are pretty mean to do or say to someone.

She also told me to stop mansplaning one time, and since I do not know what that is I looked it up and I was like are you for real?! But I try to keep my cool and ignore it.
    Here is the most absolute biggest one that hurt me, she worked at a university in the Veterans department, and she berated me because other veterans with PTSD went to college, and constantly asked why I couldn’t! The money thing hit me.
    I had 10hr shifts at the job I had when I was with my daughters mother. Got called for a sixth day, and the rest of the week I came in two hours early to do extra work. So I worked 70hr.
    Id come home, exhausted and just wanting to cool down and sit for the first time all day. She said to me "think about how this affects our daughter".
    She was right. I knew it then, because I wanted to spend all the time I could with her. But she would also over spend on groceries(and somehow, we still didn't have any food), I still paid for her brand new car while I have an 8yr old car, and she wanted to buy all sorts of useless things we didn't need.
    I really want to sit down with her and get this closure, but I know it would end up heated, and it would cause problems. I feel so used and unappreciated still. I bent over backwards just to make sure she had a warm place to sleep and a full belly, yet I was told her mother was more of a father than I was.

      So why stay with her? Does she want to be married? Does she know you will NEVER marry her? Being fair and honest is for both of you. As long as you are honest and forthcoming with your boundaries and intentions, it’s all good.

    • @chriscristah9178

      Did you share with her to let her know these are reasons you’re breaking up with her?
      OR did you let her know if she doesn’t make a change???
      this is a deal breaker?
      Healthy Break ups with a clean break should not be a surprise but to provide the lessons and clarity for both to move on.
      If there’s too much hurt and trust is broken... you’re right about ending it.
      Successful marriages have a ratio where the good outweighs the bad.
      Her apology says a lot about her... and if she makes changes even more about her good character.
      As for you? Marriage is about forgiveness and giving your partner equal value with mutual understanding and respect as you grow together learning better to love one another more and more over the years.
      The Bible speaks of
      1) submitting to one another.
      2) Wives respect your husbands.
      3) Husbands live with your wife in an understanding way AND love her like Jesus.
      4) Practicing grace and forgiveness to grow in love more and more.
      5) Even after marriage, you both belongs to Jesus more than you do to one another and are still required to follow Him together and individually.
      6) Praying daily together and for one another:
      verbally together.
      7) Bringing out the best in one another and believing or trusting one another.
      You don’t want to stand in Heaven before Jesus (in the end) and He says you that, “you kept your wife from following Him and fulfilling His purpose for her in the earth because you demanded her worship and lordship.”
      In Marriage, the goal of communication IS mutual understanding, not superiority.
      Clearly you’re not ready for marriage anyway unless you grasp the biblical basics I just pointed out and
      1 Corinthians 13

    That work one hits hard.
    Dad worked 3 jobs to keep our family afloat while mum just splurged. He’d come home, do yard work or the housework that wasn’t given to us kids as chores. He’d get maybe half an hour to relax on a Facebook game, 3 or 4 hours sleep and then he’d be off to work again. Mum cooked dinner maybe once or twice a week, every other night it was takeout or dad doing to cooking.
    Then she’d complain to him about never doing anything with her, not doing enough etc.
    It feels shit looking back, because I wish I was a little more mature and took up some of the slack around the house to help dad. I was so naive back then I actually thought mum was in the right because dad never did spend any time with us.
    He eventually broke down and left, and it was my first time ever seeing him cry. 19 years (my older brother was 18) of no joy in life, nothing but hardship and degradation.
    I can’t hate mum as a mother, but as a partner she was the absolute worst.

      @@gracec1665 Meh. Its not really in the eye of the beholder. Thats a cliche that makes no real sense since there are most definitely objective beauty standards. And yes, the comment you responded to is true generally speaking. In fact, its true for most women generally speaking. Women are coddled and catered to from the moment they're born. God forbid if you tell a woman she looks fat when she actually looks fat....thats considered rude and often just plain mean so better not say it huh. And heres an example...i recently saw a vid where a girl was trying to buy lemons...in an arts and craft store. When her bf asked her why she wanted them she said to make lemon water. He then pointed out they were fake lemons and she proceeded to look confused and pouty and just was plain dumb. Many of the comments from guys were talking about how cute she reacted bc she was a very pretty girl. One even said something like "I can only hope to find a girl as cute as her." I then asked him if her stupidity mattered and his response was "it only adds to her cuteness." So yeah, that girl has never had to develop any type of critical thinking skills and she gets a pass on being dumber than a box of rocks bc shes pretty. Blond air, blue eyes and nice body apparently means you can act like a reta*d and thats ok😂
