  • NUVO instruments are pre-band instruments perfect for elementary schools but can also act as fun, casual, practice, or even travel instruments for people of all ages.
    Soprano Recorder: www.nuvoinstrumental.com/prod...
    Standard recorder with colorful options.
    Recorder+: www.nuvoinstrumental.com/prod...
    A recorder with silicone keys make it easier to play than a standard recorder so students start early and progress fast!
    Toot: www.nuvoinstrumental.com/prod...
    A mini-flute with recorder fingerings to help teach flute embouchure and positioning at an early age.
    Dood: www.nuvoinstrumental.com/prod...
    A mini-clarinet with recorder fingerings to help teach fundamental single reed embouchure at an early age.
    jSax: www.nuvoinstrumental.com/prod...
    This mini-saxophone teaches single reed embouchure. Students can progress on to saxophone or clarinet when they are ready.
    jFlute / Student Flute: www.nuvoinstrumental.com/prod...
    The jFlute is a great starter flute. It is lightweight and shorter making the reach more accessible for young learners. The Student Flute features a straight headjoint and full C foot.
    Clarinéo: www.nuvoinstrumental.com/prod...
    The Clarinéo is pitched in C which means the finger stretches are shorter and the tone holes are smaller. It uses standard clarinet fingerings which allow learners to transition to B-flat clarinet easily.
    jHorn: www.nuvoinstrumental.com/prod...
    Compact and lightweight starter “brass” instrument with three mouthpiece cup sizes to experience high, middle and low brass embouchures before transitioning to traditional brass. The jHorn can be pitched in the key of B-flat or C (both sets of tubes included).
    WindStars Music Curriculum: nuvo-windstars.com
    Designed by music educators to integrate NUVO instruments into any music classroom. Teacher and student books are available for each level. The WindStars website offers free downloadable content such as backing tracks, print music and teaching videos with a free account.

    I played trumpet for 7 years and had to give it up to keep up with engineering studies. Now I'm picking up music again and I'm wondering if I should get a jhorn. It looks like a neat little thing that could help me re-learn.

    • @WindStarsEducation
      @WindStarsEducation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The jHorn is a fun instrument for adults and comes with three mouthpiece cups for high, middle and low brass. You could use the high brass mouthpiece or a metal trumpet mouthpiece as most are compatible with the jHorn. The jHorn not an exact substitute for the trumpet of course but it would be a fun way to get back into playing!

    I have a friend with dyspraxia and I know they have an interest in music. Are these nuvo instruments something I could point them towards? They particularly have interest in the flute, but I don't know anything about that instrument at all. Is one of them more suited to someone with a motor disorder like that? They are an adult, if a bit of a small one.

    • @WindStarsEducation
      @WindStarsEducation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The jFlute is shorter; the donut headjoint brings the flute in closer to the body than a traditional straight flute. All NUVO instruments are incredibly lightweight so many people find it easier to play and less straining on their arms and hands. Each situation is different but I would recommend looking into the jFlute: www.nuvoinstrumental.com/products/flute/

      @WindStarsEducation  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jz7532 Some, yes! We have personally tested the Yamaha 4C soprano saxophone mouthpiece and it does fit. It might at first seem like it doesn’t because it doesn’t cover both o-rings but it still seals and the tip is at the same place as the tip of the Nuvo mouthpiece. I know some people have tried Jody Jazz soprano saxophone mouthpieces as well but I don't know which exact models will work so you might have to do some trial and error.
