    When I was a teenager I played a metal baritone, but that didn't keep me from playing it in bath. It was very funny to pour a few litres of water down the bell, then forcefully playing the instrument. The air would escape in big, loud bubbles, and make a sound of some drowning dinosaur/elephant. Possibly I can relive this experience with a plastic jHorn.

    Yo! That's previous band teacher! He's a very cool teacher by the way. Sometimes he would let us play hacky sack, but all of us sucked because we didn't play until we came to his class. He'd also play music and sometimes he'd let me play the piano because I was the responsible one out of all of the kids because I was in the 7th grade and the others were in 6th. I ended up in the 6th grade band because of a mix up that never got fixed.

    Ben, I'm Samantha M. (6th grade) Grandma! I just enjoyed a bunch of your videos trying to decide between the jSax and the jHorn. She heard you talking and came in and said OMG! That's my teacher! I so enjoyed your videos,...Love the Lion Sleeps Tonight! Sam is going to help me learn to play the jHorn. I really like the sound when you use the lower mouth piece. I love the French Horn a lot, but have never played one. Any way, thank you for making these awesome videos! They are wonderful. I hope I get to meet you one day.

    I have one, and I can barely get decent notes out of it. That's largely down to me though as I've never played a brass instrument before. The little booklet tells me I should get an E with all keys down. I get a Bb ish

    still looking for a silent 'ish solution. just read that the flugehorn bell is bigger than the trumpet, so wondering if the flugel silent brass mute would fit? if not, i think i'll reluctantly give up & learn the trombone!! 😐

    • @NuvoInstrumental
      @NuvoInstrumental  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, thanks for your interest in the jHorn! We tried a trombone mute (Denis Wick) and it was too large for the jHorn. A trumpet mute is too small. Something in the middle, such as an alto trombone mute, may fit better, however we have not tried one. We will ask around and get back to you. Thank you!

    The clicking is killing me. I love it otherwise. I'm afraid it would drive me crazy. Also as a former trumpet, would I start with baritone music? What is best to re-learn or begin learning? I'm president of a band booster club and would consider recommending these to the school with more information...

    • @VioletMidnightProductions

      The clicking got to me too...wish they had a trumpet one.

    • @NuvoInstrumental

      Hi Michael, yes baritone / tuba music would be perfect when you use cup #1 (Low Brass). We also suggest students to start out with cup #1 and #2 (Middle Brass), especially early on when learning to play low notes. Students who prefer the cup #3 (High Brass) would learn trumpet fingerings. The jHorn is a great instrument that kick-starts students ability to learn buzzing at an early age. NUVO also publishes a music program called WindStars. There is a Student Book for each instrument (jHorn, jSax, jFlute and Clarinéo) and a Teacher Book that guides the teacher and can be easily integrated into school curriculum. Earlier this year we also add Teacher Training to help music teachers who have less experience with woodwind and brasswind. Check it out below: th-cam.com/video/waWjzWtSi8g/w-d-xo.html
