  • It doesn't always work out! In this episode we start metal detecting at a new site. After digging for treasure we realize that this old home site is just not that old. Time to explore and look for clues to hopefully find an older spot so we can save some history. We find an old road hoping it leads us to treasure. There is a downed tree and I can see that some treasure has grown into it. Then I almost step on a rattlesnake. We decide to leave and hunt an old site that we never quite finished. Am I glad we did! I was using my Minelab Equinox 800 and Dinwiddie had his Equinox 900. We are both using our mini coils. We find they help us snipe coins, relics, tokens, jewelry and other treasure that is being masked by nails, tin and other trash.

The comments are promising that with the hard work and swinging your coil for days, you're sure to find gold and silver 🤤 Nice thought but, is that a guarantee? When you find zilch after spending weeks with only frustration and empty holes 😞.... Those treasures are very appreciated, but I believe they shouldn't be the only thing that motivates... Being out and about far away from the hustle and Bustle and be Blessed with recreational enjoyment, with peace and quiet... Thanks for sharing...

Wow is it still that cold there that the rattler was inactive? Already hitting the 90s here in north central Florida. My daughter and I call those rattlers a "nope rope". Nice hunt but please be careful and watch out for Gunter. That was a big bone he had, his treasure find.

I think our high so far is low 70s. That day it was like 40s. One time Gunner found a deer skull and spent the day muching it. Lol

Those "V" nickels were a scammers dream...A beer was a nickel and someone who was not above being a thief, would have some "V" nickels plated with a little bit of gold... The nickel was a very good resemblance to the 5$ gold piece... You get yourself a beer and keep from saying anything to anyone.... Many bar keepers would give you the change for a 5$ minus that nickel. ...Even if they would catch it and give you no change, they couldn't have you jailed for counterfeits...

It would be amazing to find one. I'm unaware of one ever being dug.

That dial is from a key wound wall clock. Centered around the hand post.
