Just came across your channel, really enjoy your mellow, no drama style. Being a dectorist, I appreciate seeing the reality of the hobby and not just a hyped up production. Good hunting.
I stumbled purely by accident upon one of your videos last night. I've now watched several of your videos as well as a few of Metal Detecting NYC's videos. I think I now have the bug to buy a Detector and have narrowed it down to either the Nokta Legend Pro or the Equinox 700. I wish I still lived in Oceanside, CA as I would have untold beach detecting opportunities, but I now reside in Avondale, AZ and the soil out here is pretty hard. Still, a move may be in my future as I'm retiring in the next year or two. If I do get into this hobby, it will largely be due to my stumbling across your fine month old channel . . . THANK YOU ! I was very surprised to see you dig up two rings and the silver pendant all within probably an hour of each other, simply amazing.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback❤️ You can’t go wrong with either detector. I’m a Minelab user so you can guess what my recommendation would be. If you watch more of my videos you’ll see that multiple find days like this one are not so common. You really have to put time in, learn your machine. Then there’s the luck factor, you won’t find something if you don’t walk over it. Pretty crazy hobby both skill and luck 😁
I live close by. Started going there in 70. That’s before it was a nude beach. Got out of the army in 76 and came home to find out things had changed😃. There were nude beaches in Santa Barbara in 71, Free beach being one of them. You had to cross the farmers field to get to it. Good surfing. The central coast is beautiful and if you get the chance, do it!. 🙂
11:20 Close. That's actually a knife sharpener. They make one in the same style that is for scissors, so it could also be that, but a knife sharpener is far more likely on the beach.

Here in Auckland, New Zealand, fishing from the shore is very wind-dependent. There are few places you can comfortably fish when the wind is from the West, which it often is. I had a mate who was Japanese, visiting for an extended stay, and EVERY day he used to get up with the dawn, and go fishing for a few hours, or fish the rising tide at dusk. One day he rang and said "Tony, I caught four fish !" and I said "Wait one minute, where could you have fished today with this wind?, there is nowhere !". "Nudie beach !" he said. :) I don't think it had occurred to anyone else to go fish there, you never see people fishing. But he is Japanese, he just didn't worry about fishing without clothes, they are not body conscious. :)

Avila Beach and Pirate's Cove. Been years since I was at Avila and about 4 decades since my mom took me to Pirate's Cove to run around naked for an afternoon (I was pretty much a toddler). Were those houses always there overlooking the cove?
I thought this was the Pirates Cove next to Zuma Beach. You can see the entrance for it on almost every beach commercial and many movies are filmed on it because of the great lighting they get for it. Have only seen one movie filmed on Pirates Cove from the early 80s and it was a horror movie.
