    Excellent choice for a weekend warrior. As a professional detailer and certified installer of Ceramic Pro, I commend Griot’s for making it clear that while this product is a good option, it will not outperform a professional coating. Top notch, honest marketing.

    People have often claimed true Ceramic coatings have killed the sealant and wax industry. But it didn't. What's really killing it, are these dang easy to use hybrid Ceramic spray waxes. What used to take at least 30 minutes to an hour doing a full wax, takes about 10 minutes now. Glad to see Griots get in the game as I really enjoy their other products.

    So I bought the G9 orbital and this product makes me rethink that purchase. How do I utilize my G9 orbital when I have a product like this? I have 2 brand new cars basically so no paint correction is really needed and polishing may come in a year or two. In the mean time, should I wash the car, clay bar, then do the orbital g9 with wax (griots poly wax)? Next time I wash the car, should I use this product as a drying aid? How often should I do it? That's what I was aiming for initially but I'm unsure.

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your G9 can be used for annual paint corrections, decontamination, or if you wanted to use our new Ceramic All-in-One Wax, which features the same protection as Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax with added correction ability. We'd actually suggest using Ceramic Speed Shine as a drying aid instead of this product. If you apply a base layer of Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, one layer or two, or polish with Ceramic All-in-One, you can easily get a year of protection out of it before needed to reapply.

    Love this product! I completed two applications with 20 hours between on my 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS and 2014 Porsche Cayman. You do need to spray in moderation and use several dry towels nearly immediately to prevent streaks. I was most impressed with the results on 44-year old paint. Awesome product. Out of curiosity, what does a traditional spray wax on top of 3-1 do? Any adverse reactions? Thank you!

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's what we love to hear! And there shouldn't be any adverse reaction, however with a super hydrophobic protectant, like Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, it’s not particularly beneficial to put another coat of a different wax on top as you’ll sacrifice the hydrophobic properties.

    This is my go-to protection on all our vehicles. IMO it is much easier to spray a microfiber towel or applicator, apply it directly to the paint in a criscross motion and then buff off with a quality microfiber towel. It makes much less of a mess and you don't risk missing droplets here and there that stick onto your trim.

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not entirely necessary, however we do recommend stripping the wax currently on your car prior to applying the Ceramic 3-in-1 to maximize the protection. If the base layer, in this case the Mothers Brazilian Carbauba, provides less protection than the 9-12 months Ceramic 3-in-1 provides then you won't get the full duration of protection.

    I encountered alot of smudge and streaking on the first and also second attempt of use. Now a month after and third try with a different version of towels still getting same results. Might need to reach out to c.s.

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Jay R, you'll want to apply another coat to get rid of the streaking. Streaking with the Ceramic 3-in-1 can happen for a couple reasons. Most common is over application, you want to mist it on a panel such as the hood. Use a nice thick microfiber towel such as our PFM detailing towels or Microfiber Edgeless towels. Wipe the hood or panel, then use a separate, dry towel for buffing to ensure no streaks. One other thing is you want at least 4 towels per vehicle, switching them out before the towel becomes to saturated and always using a second towel for buffing. Ceramic is a very rich formula once that towel starts to feel saturated you want to switch it out with a fresh one.

    Can you apply the Ceramic 3-1 wax with an orbital polisher and then buff it off with a microfiber towel

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax is formulated for hand application only. And you can put a different wax as a base layer, however it's not always beneficial. When applying multiple layers of wax or sealant, always assess the protection and aesthetic properties of each. The extent of the protection will only last as long as your bottom layer provides, so you’ll want to use the more durable product as your bottom layer and allow it to cure for 12-24 hours. Your top layer will determine the gloss, shine, and hydrophobic properties, so if you’re using a super hydrophobic protectant, like Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, it’s not particularly beneficial to put another coat of a different wax on top as you’ll sacrifice the hydrophobic properties.

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can apply a traditional wax over Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, however it wouldn't be necessary. Ceramic 3-in-1 is our most hydrophobic protection and applying another product on top of it may reduce the hydrophobicity that Ceramic 3-in-1 produces. Ceramic 3-in-1 is more durable that traditional waxes and sealants. With this in mind and also taking into account the increased gloss and hydrophobicity of the Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, you would benefit more from an additional coat of Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax. We recommend waiting 24 hours prior to applying a second coat.

    I have a 2013 BMW 335i in the dark BMW metallic blue. Had the car 1 year old and since it had 16K miles. It now has about 78K miles. Thus far I have once a year been hand washing the car with soft water (my hose bib comes thru the central water softener at home). I then clay bar the car using the quick detailer spray and Meguiar's clay from Wal-Mart. I then apply Griot's Garage 10916 Liquid Gloss Poly Wax by hand with a soft foam application pad and then buff to a shine with an orbital buffer that has a micro fiber pad again purchased from WalMart. The car has light scratches and water marks. Which of the Boss creams should I use to remove these light scratches and water marks? I am contemplating switching to the Griot 3in1 ceramic spray. I would like to remove the light scratches and water marks prior to applying the ceramic spray. I also currently use the Griot Spray On Wax after washing the car each time. Please advise on what step I should take to remove the swirls and water marks and any fine scratches before applying the 3in1 ceramic wax. Thanks.

    I just bought this to try out, Normally use the blue speed shine which is great. Ceramic wax came out horrible even with prepping the paint and removing residue with 50/50 alcohol, Streaks all over the place that didn’t want to buff off. I have a black car so it shows up a lot very disappointed as every other product I’ve used has worked great. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll want to apply another coat to get rid of the streaking. Streaking with the ceramic 3 in 1 can happen for a couple reasons.

    So I currently have Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant on my car and have recently fell in love with Griots products (just bought G15/G8polishers/pads/towels/and ordering G9 soon.)
    Having said that, would you say that 3-in-1 would react/work well with the existing WG product.

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Technically you can apply the Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax over your current layer of the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant. That being said, it looks like that particular sealant last about 6 months on average, compared to the 9-12 months of Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax. With that, the base layer determines protection durability, so if you keep that sealant on the car, your protection, even with a new layer of our ceramic, is only go to last as long as what is left of that 6 months, not the full length of our ceramic. If you're ok with that, you can apply right over it, but if you want the full 9-12 months of protection we'd suggest stripping the old sealant off first.

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax is a wax and intended to be used after paint correction. And while the polishing process allows the paint to shine, the wax is what ultimately makes it pop.

    • @GriotsGarage
      @GriotsGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can apply Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax over another protectant such as One-Step Sealant. However whenever you're layering waxes, keep in mind that your top coat is only as durable as your base layer. Ceramic 3-in-1 is more durable that sealant. With this in mind and also taking into account the increased gloss and hydrophobicity of the Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax, you would benefit more from an additional coat of Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax.

    I went to my local Advanced Auto Store this afternoon. I picked up my first bottle of Griot’s Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax. I washed and dried my Black Mustang. Waited to get the car in good afternoon shade and car surface is cool to touch. I watched the how to apply video and read the instructions. This wax streaks like crazy. I’m using a clean microfiber applicator and drying after a light spray with a fresh microfiber cloth. I tried the “spray it again and wipe dry” tip to try to remove the streaks. Probably will not buy this again for my black painted vehicle. Tried it. Streaking. I had to use a Quick Detailer spray to smoothen out the mess. I will try it tomorrow on my white vehicle.
