Wow! What's the chance that im looking at pergola builds for my house. I found your video and realized that I was next door helping clean Patties pool with my father in law Omar, the day you were starting this project. I remember seeing you out there. Small world!! The little garage and tower gave it away. Looks great btw. Og tx!
Nice job Dude, diy saved you a ton of cash and you got the satisfaction of your own labor. Those pergola builders want to get rich of one project. I had two quotes from "pros"..one for 1400 the other for 1200....did it myself for less than 250.
Thanks so much! Great video! I am thinking of tackling a couple of homefront projects and this really helped me plan. I have never done any of this kind of improvement. Please keep putting out videos! I love everything about how you film them!
It looks flat in the video but it is sloped. We did the lowest allowable slope per code in our area. It drops 6in from the house to the end of the patio. It's flashed well and we have had no leaks.
Yes nice video the same question. When you have a patio cover you need a pitch 1/2” fall per foot. This looks like there is no fall not even 1/4” per foot. So when it rains the water will go back towards the house. Also why didn’t you include the wrap around your posts with the nice mason work.?
I was just about to ask why he didn't slope it a little bit? Idk where this is as usual nobody tells the state it is. I'm in lower Michigan and no way would this pass code.
It looks awesome. How is it holding 3 years after? Where I live the county would not let me get that close to the soffit, go figure. But I'm building something similar, just half of that size.
Question for you. With your screw pattern on the tin roof and the fact you did this vertically from the house do you end up with leakage or damage to your rafters? I have seen a couple types of tin roofing where when done this way they aren’t as wide and overlap the previous panels screws to avoid this or obviously if done horizontally from bottom to top and a slight over hang from the natural roof you end up with no leakage. Just wondering if you used any type of caulking or sealant? Looks great and that back yard is going to be even more amazing when that tree you planted really grows in! Beautiful country
This is the first video I have watched of yours and will most likely watch more. You did a great job Pal. I do wonder though weather or not your are going to extend that another 20ft, after all there are no widows to the left, and talking about the wind slamming into the door you might want to make the first 20ft screened in for the seating area and 20ft open. You know your Wife is going to want furniture out there at some stage, seating for bar b ques etc etc. Then your going to have to build a table with the ice tray in the center of it, and then the wood covered cooler trolley for those cold drinks with family and friends.. Just a couple of wild thoughts for you.. Well done..
This is a really good video.... I've been watching videos to make a porch... but yours definitely is one of the best! And the incredible thing, you made it yourself... You gave me a better idea to make one like this to my house... Thank you for this nice video...
How did you secure the cross beam to your posts? Around 6:55 it shows you drilling the holes but can you explain what you used to secure them together?
It’s great and all, but I’d like to know what boards you’re using, how you attach them to each etc the details would be really great for us greenhorns Great video tho 👍🏽
very beautiful!!!!!!!!! I want to do the stone wraps as well but im so intimidated. Also I noticed your neighbors started a pergola after you guys started. You're inspiring people everywhere.
Hi. Great job on the porch. I would have liked to see the new slab pour and the surrounds you put in around the posts. But, I still enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. I would of loved it, if you would of shown what you were doing in more detail and explanation. More for my knowledge. The patio came out real good.
Hello beautiful beautiful job. How big are your post? How far are they apart? And how big is the beam going across? I want to do something like this for my patio thanks.
What did you do flashing-wise on the transition from the roof of the house to the porch sheets? It seems like I can see something at 13:41 but would like to know what you did for reference?
Thanks! Definitely don't want it towards the house. I made the pitch the lowest possible that the building code in our areas allows. It drops 6 inches from the house to the end of the patio.
Good job just probably should have put some type of flashing were it meets the house facia. You could potentially get a leak and wood rot. But looks good.
I didn't get a chance to record it but we did put 6in flashing where the patio roof meets the house. Definitely want to prevent any water damage for sure.
Hello nice work man Have u had any kind of warp or cracks on the wood since built?? i want to have one built but they want to use cedar and that is pretty high price,, i told them to just use regular wood but they dont recomend it,, what lkind of wood did u use let me know thankyou
We used standard pine. Cedar would definitely be best but prices are crazy. No warping or cracking. We sealed the wood with 3 coats of ReadySeal. It has held up really well.
Great job, simple and clean and cozy. Gives me inspiration that I can build one in my backyard as well. I have a spot in mind. That board that was out on the home where the rafters sit. What did that rest on? thanks
Great job, it is very modest from you to say "We built". 😄
I’m really enjoying this extension of porch to stop the rain from damaging. I need to do the same. Great 👍 Job!!!
this video should have alot more views. Solid simple way to build a porch i have been looking for
Is that ledger board held up with cabinet screws? Pretty sure you need either lag screws or lag bolts to hold that up.

God bless you brother. Enjoy your videos and hope you post new ones up.
Blessings.
Beautiful, you did a excellent job on the patio. I am starting one soon and I learned a lot. Thank You
The algorithm sent you my way. You look like a guy I used to work with. Great video! Love your style man. Keep up the good work!
Nice scenic view from a new favorite area of your home. Great job on the work and video. God Bless.
What a great porch, I’d love to build one exactly like this for our home. Thanks for the great tutorial video!
Sorry to break up the motivation but he made it look too easy!!
Nice job Dude, diy saved you a ton of cash and you got the satisfaction of your own labor. Those pergola builders want to get rich of one project.
I had two quotes from "pros"..one for 1400 the other for 1200....did it myself for less than 250.
What is sized of the quote?
Thanks for all info is very good job and helpful good luck for your next project
So we’ll done. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much! Great video! I am thinking of tackling a couple of homefront projects and this really helped me plan. I have never done any of this kind of improvement. Please keep putting out videos! I love everything about how you film them!
You should be proud! Thanks for sharing! I am working towards a home with some land. Motivating!!
Exactly what I want from my house the size of the posts are awesome
Great video just in time for my next project in about a week or so.
Love how this turned out!
Great job, thanks for share wit us. Beatitud patio.
Yea, great job! Especially doing it by yourself!!
Amazing. Missed to show us the pillar stone work.
Thanks! I have a separate video just for the stone work: th-cam.com/video/xHeKIUtT2XM/w-d-xo.html
Lovely. I would have liked to see you doing the stonework on the posts too.
That is Awesome! Love it! Going to have my husband watch this video. Hopefully he'll get inspired. I've been wanting one. We also live in Texas 😊
I love it. But how are you going to keep the rain from getting in at the ledger board, since the roof looks relatively flat?
I was wondering the same.
It looks flat in the video but it is sloped. We did the lowest allowable slope per code in our area. It drops 6in from the house to the end of the patio. It's flashed well and we have had no leaks.

Hahaha very true

I have to thank you i copy your idea but i did XL patio Roof just like your thanks for inspire me to get it done 🎉
Absolutely beautiful!!! You did a great job!!!! Hope you and your family are making great memories there! God bless.

Beautiful job! Thanks for sharing the video. I love the design and the stain is perfect!
This is a really good video.... I've been watching videos to make a porch... but yours definitely is one of the best! And the incredible thing, you made it yourself...
You gave me a better idea to make one like this to my house...
Thank you for this nice video...
So you put the metal roof against the fascia but did you do anything else to keep water from going behind the metal roof?
Only one who bright this up. Your supposed to flash that or something

Great video tho 👍🏽
Great Job, you should be very proud.
Good job jimmy…perhaps you should have flashed the ledger board with Z flash
Great video. Very helpful thank you. I only have 12’ to work with x 16’ wide.
That's a good size slab to work on.
Outstanding Hermano, It's great watching you do great work on the homestead, nothing feels better or more satisfying. congratulations
very beautiful!!!!!!!!! I want to do the stone wraps as well but im so intimidated. Also I noticed your neighbors started a pergola after you guys started. You're inspiring people everywhere.
How did you do the stone wrap around? That came out great!
Whole thing looks excellent
yes! would've been nice to see that
Click on his profile name and you’ll see the other videos he created. One of them is a video on the stone wrap around.
Bro that came out INCREDIBLE. Especially the stone wraps around the columns. Nice work!
Excellent job
That came out great. I’m wondering however, how the rain skirts off that roof looking so level?
Hi. Great job on the porch. I would have liked to see the new slab pour and the surrounds you put in around the posts. But, I still enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing.
Nice project, wished you included the column rock build details. Beautiful job.
Agreed, that would make for another awesome video.
He has a great video on that too
Wow! This is so Awesome! We enjoyed how you did from start to finish!!!! We are proud of you mijo! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽💕💕💕👒
Great video. I would of loved it, if you would of shown what you were doing in more detail and explanation. More for my knowledge. The patio came out real good.
Thank you! Great idea. I may do some future videos with more explanation.
Hello beautiful beautiful job. How big are your post? How far are they apart? And how big is the beam going across? I want to do something like this for my patio thanks.
This is a great video. Loved it
But i would like to know how much you spend on this project? Thank you
Total cost was about $2K. We bought all the lumber before the prices skyrocketed and we had the stones leftover from our build.
Wow!!! Awesome work bro!!!
Amazing work a video on how you bbuild those column wraps?
Thanks! I have a separate video just for the stone work: th-cam.com/video/xHeKIUtT2XM/w-d-xo.html
Great job my friend. You seem to be a very organized person. Loved the hat and the beautiful Pup!!
Looks great .. Good job
Great job.
Can you post all the post sizes you used in the project?
Thanks! For the posts we used 4x6x10 and for the beam we used 4x6x12. These are what are allowable, per code, in our area.
Fantastic and interesting, cutaway shots to everyday life/scenery were a great touch
Thank you for creating a video that visualizes what I hope to have in my mind! And the “how to steps” were essential. Thank you again!
Next project should be the flashing from the house to the metal roof and the gable trim
I was wondering that too.
Turned out beautiful !! Thanks for sharing !!
Nice do you have content on how you did the brick around the pillars
Rain sprouted concrete. Awesome.
Fantastic work... G'day from down under!!
who wouldnt want to work outside w a view like that
Video on how you did those block bases around your poles
He did post another video for it.
I have another video that details the stone work. Check out my channel.
Amazing
just wondering about rain run off. would it be better to have a slight incline so water runs away from the house? does it even matter?
What did you do flashing-wise on the transition from the roof of the house to the porch sheets? It seems like I can see something at 13:41 but would like to know what you did for reference?
Did you angle the roof so the water didn't run back towards the house, or have you not found that to be an issue? Thank you!
Looks great, tell me how to do the bottom part that holds the poles
Right. It looks like it almost slopes back towards the house. That could cause a lot of destruction later. I like the look though. Good luck.
Thanks! Definitely don't want it towards the house. I made the pitch the lowest possible that the building code in our areas allows. It drops 6 inches from the house to the end of the patio.
My wife has a honey to do list. This project is on it. Thank you.!!!
Good job just probably should have put some type of flashing were it meets the house facia. You could potentially get a leak and wood rot. But looks good.
I didn't get a chance to record it but we did put 6in flashing where the patio roof meets the house. Definitely want to prevent any water damage for sure.
beautiful job dude! i hope i can do this at my new house. total newb but we shall see lol
Great Job!
You are one cool person best of luck. 👍🏻🇨🇦
very beautiful I have a brick home how can i attach a ledger board to brick?
Would of liked to see you brick around the posts and the bits at the top of the posts
I have a separate video where I detail the stone work on the posts. Check it out on my channel.

Awesome!!! Truly enjoyed this DIY video!
Is there any angle on that patio. Just wondering because on camera things don't always look the same as in real life. Thanks.
Great job, simple and clean and cozy. Gives me inspiration that I can build one in my backyard as well. I have a spot in mind. That board that was out on the home where the rafters sit. What did that rest on? thanks
Fantastic Job, Is there a possible way for you to share the cost breakdown of the project ??
