I have watched numerous videos on a lot of subjects and can honestly say this is one of the best I've seen. No unnecessary chit chat, just direct and to the point. Thank you for not showing every nail installed and board cut. Drives me crazy. Excellent job. Thank you.
Sweet flashing. Most underrated aspect of a project like this.
Thanks! I appreciate that. I really really didn't want to discover years from now that it had been secretly leaking the whole time.
I watched what seems like every video on TH-cam of patio covers being built preparing to build my own, and I must say you did one heck of a job explaining what you were doing and why you were doing it. Fantastic content you put together
Thank you!
Nice job ,, did you need a city permit to build it ?
So far this is the only patio cover with an Inside Corner that I can find. I appreciate the parts of it that you added to this video.
Excellent job, it looks great. You will have a lot of satisfaction sitting underneath this patio with a cold drink on a hot day.
Thanks!
Wow, just wow!! I need a man like you in my life! Great job. Thank you.
Perfect ! Beautiful Porch !
Looks great! In the future, be sure to use a grommet in the knock outs on those metal boxes for the lights. It secures and protects the wires, while also closing that hole in the box to help keep debris out over time.
Loved your video! Very detailed oriented!!! Thank you for sharing!
Well that's one heck of a one man job! Fantastic! It's beautiful too. 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks!
Fabulous outdoor space plus the added value to your home.
It turned out to be a really comfortable space and we love it. Thank you.
It looks amazing. You gave me so many tips I will use to build my covered patio this summer. Thanks so much!
Thanks!
Great video just what I needed to see 👍🏼
Love those candles lights. Love installed them in our kitchen, pantry, and living room. They're easy! Nice work on that project!!
Thanks!
Beautiful patio.
What a great job you did there. BRAAAAVOOO!!!!
Thank you!
I have watched a ton of these and I haven’t seen anyone explain the flashing and the cutting into your siding like you did. I am planning to duplicate your efforts at my house. Thanks for the great video .
Thanks!
Beautiful job ❤
That was an excellent video. Very nice job on building and also filming and editing . This is one of the best I have seen. Thank you for putting it out.
Thank you!
Excellent narration and explanation thru each step. Very easy to follow along…and it looks wonderful. The most interesting part was the roof flashing. That was extremely educational!
Thanks!

Man looks like it was constructed with the house! Doesn’t look like an Add On. The way you closed in the eaves was very easy and looked awesome!!! R&R is a great instructor/builder!! Overall fantastic job now enjoy!!! I’m guessing you will do your shed next!! 👍🏽
This is exactly the video I was looking for! Hoping to do a do a much smaller version next spring!

One bite at a time. It did seem overwhelming at times though. Thank you!
Great video. Nice to see regular person taking on a project like this. The pro's make videos and make it look so easy, but their pros. Great job sir. I'm trying to get the nerve to do a similar project.
Thank you for saying that. It was very scary getting started but step by step it got more comfortable and completed.
Fantastic job sir you have my respect! Excellent job by a a man with excellent personality ! God bless

You are an ANIMAL!! Look at YOU go as a solo project!! I remember having the gumption 20 years ago to install a 7-zone irrigation system on my 1/2 acre lot… not today… too physical for me now. CONGRATS 🎉 Great job.
Wow, thank you!
This is so AWESOME! I am going to be doing a similar project soon
Thanks!

I've been doing my own DIY patio cover, and this gave great steps for finishing/trimming and running electrical and is almost exactly what I'm looking for. Awesome work!

Great video. I learned a lot
great job. very nice looking porch. my son and I rebuilt the original porch that had a hip roof on his 90 year old house from the foundation up. at some point the original porch was torn down and replaced with an 8'x10' uncovered deck. we wanted to restore the original look to the house. wish this video was available last summer when we built it. it turned out great, though, despite our inexperience and never having dealt with a hip roof before. we've gotten tons of positive comments from people in town who remembered what the house used to look like before we restored the outside. we had originally gotten 4 of those LED lights but that was way too bright. We pared it down to 2 and that was plenty. very easy to install, too. we went with vinyl soffit and we built the soffit level instead of keeping the angle of the roof. It took us 3 months as well, working when we could. we finished the shingles the day before we got 3" of snow at the end of October. glad it's done now! that was a huge undertaking for us.
Impressive! That's awesome. I was shocked at the light output from the cans. We mainly just use the fan lights or string lights really. Good call on using vinyl. Should last and last.
What a great video! Thank you!
Thanks!
Good job fella. Looks great
Thanks!

Thank you!

Good job 👏
Great looking job👍🏾😎
Thanks 👍
An awesome woodworking skills. Congratulations .......
Thank you!
Houses in US are so easy to work with. In Europe everything is either brick or cement, even interior walls. Love that you can do something like this and it just takes some wood and nails.
thanks for the video and detailing your steps in building this beautiful patio cover.. my main challenge is cutting the sidings and installing the ledger board, I wish you have shown the type of nails/screws used for ledger board... I love the way you used the flashes around the ledgers and the side rafter ...
Great job 💯
Thanks!
beautiful!
Thank you!
Damn good job
Thanks!
Fantastic job my friend..I'm planning to do one on my own with a bit of help..but thank you.
Awesome video! I know how you feel. I do everything by myself. I would use metal roofing instead of shingles but that is all I would do different.
Thanks!
Well done. It looks great. I was thinking of doing something similar but do not know lot about rafters. Your video is encouraging. Thanks for the great tips.
Thank you! There are some really great rafter videos out there (mine's not one of them, haha) they really get into the how and why and what not. You got this!
good looking project
Thank you!
Awesome video
Thanks!
What can I say I’m jealous 😊
Thanks
This job you did turned out amazing! Super talented. I own a home built by Western Home's. I would like to build a patio like you just did. I think it would be cool to do that around the entire back of the house and the sides. However, to do so myself would not be possible! I will just continue to admire others work on TH-cam.
Thank you!
Nice work!
Thank you!
WOW ! Such a beautiful job and you did this yourself. This is exactly what my wife and I want but I had a brain hemorrhage and a stroke several years ago. Having trouble finding a reliable and trustworthy contractor.
God Bless and stay safe
Choosing the right contractor can be tougher than building yourself for sure. Sorry you are unable to do it yourself. I would suggest looking at the contractor's references, lots and lots of references. Read all of the reviews! It is too easy these days with social media to gauge the skill and service of a company. I'd also advise to not pay much, if any, down or upfront. Good ones are out there, just keep looking and trust your instincts and the reviews.
Great job enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing what materials to look for and the tools that you used.
Thank you!
Good job bro! Nice work
Appreciate it!
Enjoyed the video
Thank you!
wow awesome work i wish i had half ur skills lol
So dope
Thank you!
Paint those awesome columns. Then you’re done. Lol. Looks great
Very nice! Was surprised by the cost, was well worth it.
Thanks!
I watched alot of videos your far by one of the best!!!
Thank you!
@justaddwood what's the strips call when you use to cover the gaps?
I used lattice strips
@@justaddwood Wood or plastic?
I went with wood but I saw plastic was available also
Please come do for me. Very good job! Love it.
Honestly, 5k for a project this big was quite cheap!
Impressive work!
Thanks
I’d recommend venting for that roof section. Nice work.
Thanks
Smart dude 😅
Exactly what I want
Do it!
This was a spectacular job. Thank you for showing us all the particulars involved in completing this project. I’d like to know how you identify the studs under the house wrap to attach the ledger board. Thanks
Lots of guessing! Well, a little guessing, then once you find one, you'll generally find another about 16" over. So I would find one, then measure out a few, then find another just to verify I was still lining up with them. I tried a screw where I thought a stud was and if it wasn't there the screw would just spin freely
Wow I am so impressed! You made that look so good and easy. Wanna come do my patio cover???😅
