    This is actually a great video for a new-to-sharpening saw owner, I like this system bc it takes a lot of variables out, versus a more advanced hand filing. Great job Wools👍🏻
    If your watching this, file your rakers(depth gauges) in conjunction to its tooth and don’t worry if you need more or less off of each raker. *File raker per each tooth* you’ll never be able to file rakers with the same number of swipes as the chain ages.

      Brilliant comment buddy , deserved to be pinned to the top

      @@WoolysWorld I hope I explained that ok. People will think they need to take the same number of swipes on all the rakers, but the raker height is adjust according to the counterpart tooth, not the rest of the rakers.

    9.45pm. Jan 31st. After watching various videos, this is the most sensible one by far. Thank you so much. I'm a Cabinet Maker tradesman and have always sharpened my own saws but now I've learnt something. Thank you so much pal.

    If it is sharp thats all that matters to me! Seems like most of the discussion is on what method is being used and less focused on how sharp the chain is when done. I like to hand file when I have time but sometimes I just wanna get out and get cutting!

    Once the grinding stones wore out on mine I replaced them with diamond coated steel bits. They are reasonably price and last way longer

    There are so many things wrong in this video it's scary - for some topics it's hard to find videos on TH-cam from professionals who actually know what they're doing

    Why do you grind straight across after you sharpen your tooth and take away the sharpness

    • @WoolysWorld
      @WoolysWorld  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the tooth, if I go straight across it's to put a curve in the tooth
