- A quick video of how-to take down the Ocelot Unit without any weapons, kills, or alerts.
I paused at the ladder and the guard in the grass because sometimes Big Boss will cough and give away his position, which calls for some improvisation.
There was no real need for camos during any of this, except for when you're laying down near the guard in the grass I used my last smoke grenade on. He'll always see you if you don't have Treebark and Splitter on. So take care there. I just like to change camos :]

The good old days when cqc was 90% aggressively throwing people to the ground.
Which, if the games were more realistic, could kill them, depending on the surface.

All the time I've played this game. I never really use smoke grenades, but I sure will do from now on :)
For a spetsnaz unit, the ocelots are really incompetent.
It's metal gear. You are as competent as the plot calls for, which is usually never.
It's all a computer simulation. Not meant to be competent.

I just got here from watching a montage of DSP fucking up over and over.
This was extremely refreshing.
utlizing the smoke grenades reminds me of their own dirty tricks and smoke bombs to dissapear and reapear to do quick takedown technique CQC rocks!
Nicely done, although the sneaking behind them is not a must. You can run up to them and grab them before they go into alert

I wish i was playing the remasters. Instead i had to stick to original, that camera is the worst part of the game.
You probably never played original Snake Eater. That had top down camera only - quite hard to get used to, especially during boss fights.
just get the subsistence edition.
No,you could get the MGS 3 subsistance, its was released to PS2 too.
The camera in the original works greatly for battle moments such as the shagohod.

Actually, you can't. Not the Ocelots. They're in "Searching" mode so they will alert instantly when they turn around.

I'm curious, since I'm fairly new to playing Snake Eater, while sneaking behind an enemy, does holding circle (on PS3 controller) grab them automatically? After grabbing them you press square to throw them to the ground like you did, right?
Nah you can only press circle when you're in range to grab them. You can only do a body slam when you're moving, and by pressing circle when you can grab them, then rotate the left stick a half-circle around. When you're holding a guard hostage, you can only drop them quickly, but it won't KO them, by releasing and pressing circle quickly, and rotating the left stick a half-circle.

@@enzomorales1 yo noqueaba primero a todos los de afuera, luego la cosa era quitarse de encima a los 4 q andan diciendo Move!! xd lo q hacia era tirarlos un barril explosivo q lamentablemente mataba a 2, ya luego a los 2 me los bajaba con CQC.. en si no es tan difícil pero primero tienes q hacer un reconocimiento del lugar para saber q lugares puedes usar para escapar sin q te vean

I believe it only works on a cold, I've never tried it with smoke grenade gas.
But either way I'm pretty sure there is no cold medicine before this point in the game anyway.

Instead of hiding behind the lockers with a smoke g, I recommend hiding under the bed and using 2 stun grenades.

@@enzomorales1 Whenever I emulate the game, it's always pixelated, and slow. Your version seems to be running perfectly, as if it was playing on a ps2 or ps3, but better.

How do i grab someone (that isnt dead) and make him speak?
Grab a nearby enemy by pressing the (circle) button without moving the left analog stick. Snake will hold the enemy in a choke-hold from behind. If you hold the (circle) button down too hard, Snake will strangle the enemy to death. So hold the (circle) button in a light manner. While holding an enemy press the (L3) button to interrogate the enemy by threatening them with his knife.

@@tdtvii No amount of attention will help you realise you still have the tranq. When the bloody microphone is in your inventory but the tranq isn't, you kinda just assume that snake dropped it or gets it after this fight.
