- Messing around with the guards in this game is so much fun, from tricking them to straight up murdering each other to causing them extreme levels of confusion by doing questionable things while wearing the disguise. Lots of other funny things you can do as well, I've compiled it all into this one video.

I used to spend SO MUCH time messing with the guards on Shell 1 Core, using Claymores, Books, C4, Stuns, Chaff... It was so fun. I was like 5 years old and the game had just came out and I could never have enough of playing it. To this day, I finished the game like 10000x, I know every line of codec and cutscenes, but I keep finding new mechanics and fun stuff to do, like in this video. MGS2 is legendary. My fav game of all time

Metal Gear is not so much of a stealth game as it is a "guard trolling simulation" in which stealth is needed to meet that goal.
Def a stealth game.

I like how, at the beginning, the guards look directly at Raiden after kicking their comrade off the bridge. It's like they had a sense that Raiden was there and blamed him lol

It's funny how AI in mgs2 is just as dumb as people in real life.
I use to spend hours doing random bs with the guards rather than actually play the game lol. My favorite is in the tanker where Metal Gear RAY is. Do CQC on the Marines and they all fall like bowling pins lol.
Same. I used to spend a long time figuring out all of the interactions / behaviours depending on what part of guards you shoot. Kinda dark for the age I was but I had a lot of fun

Playing bowling with them is a lot of fun, "with them" in this case meaning using them as the pins 😂

Even if you make the guards kill one another, would the game register that as the player killing a guard?
I wonder if when guards kick other guards in water if its consider as a kill in the final score.
Nah it doesn't. In fact you can kick guards over railings into the water yourself as well without it counting as a kill. It's a little strange how it works, the game considers some kills as "indirect" and doesn't count them. It's even more lenient in MGS3 where you can use explosive drums to "indirectly" kill enemies lol

I only played the phantom pain but I need to know... Why are they kicking their allies?..
If a guard finds another guard asleep and wakes them up, that puts the guards in the area into a certain kind of "mode" where they think that their comrades are messing with them and if they proceed to come across any allies with their hands up, they'll kick them and knock them out. And given that fact you can get pretty creative and have the guards literally kill each other 😂
They kick them to wake up sleeping/KO'd guards or to snap them out of distracted states like being held up and perving on magazines.

Not that it makes any difference to me, but why the hell would anyone only play Phantom Pain...
@@Steambull1 It was more available until very recently. It was the only one, before the Master Collection to make it to all platforms since MGS2 Substance.
How do you get stealth???
By collecting dog tags. You need 50% of all dog tags to unlock the stealth camo, so for the Tanker chapter that's 76 dog tags and for Plant it's 121. You need to play through the game a few times to be able to collect enough. There are dog tags on all difficulty levels except European Extreme. I'd recommend playing on Very Easy, Easy and Normal if you want to get the stealth camo as fast as possible.
Edit: should also add that they need to be collected on the same save file, so always pick New Game+ instead of New Game
I always found it weird that in situations like 00:36 they always look at you regardless of distance and stealth camo or not. Cheating ai?
Normally they do that when you shoot a guard and another guard sees it happen, so they take out their binoculars and look into the direction where the shot came from, which makes sense. But in that case they're acting as if the player shot the guard even though it was their own comrade who knocked him out, which is totally cheating 😂
Why kill enemies yourself when the backup unit does it for you

At around 1:15-1:25 is that an actual voice clip from the game? Or did you insert those cries for help? I have NEVER heard that happen before, and honestly don't even understand the context in which it occurs...Who's supposed to be crying for help?

I inserted those sounds because those M9 bullets got thrown onto the conveyor belt and couldn't be reached

4:03, what difficulty is this on? On Extreme, and I believe Hard as well, if they see you with anything other than the AK74U, it immediately goes into alert mode. They don't ask "What's with that weapon?"
I believe this is on easy difficulty. In normal difficulty, it also immediately goes into alert mode.
Does it really do that on normal or higher? Very nice detail, sadly l don't remember messing up to try this
