    I am on my 16 th week after non surgical treatment.i m walking on 3 cm heel shoes. I have a small lump non paining on my healed tendon. While walking i am limping and pelvic groin area pains. Is it normal in week 16-19?

    Hello and thanks for the videos. I have a question for you. I operated on a total rupture of the tendon, around 4-6 cm. Now I'm in the 11th week and I've already done 20 physiotherapy sessions with propioceptive exercises and I've been driving the car for 2 weeks. What I lack is the strength to lift my heel and stand on tiptoe only with the operated leg. In fact, even when walking, I limp because when I shift my weight forward, I can't push with my toes to lift the heel of my back foot.
    The question is: Is this problem an anomaly or is it still too early to recover the strength needed to lift the heel?
    I hope I made myself clear.

      11 weeks is very early in terms of rehab. It take up to a year post this type of injury. If you’ve had 20 sessions I’m sure your physio can answer those questions for you.

      I am at Week 10-11. I am walking with a limp still. I also am not strong enough to roll to the balls of my feet when pushing off my repaired achilles. Hence the limp.

      Greetings bro... I wanted to ask the same question as you 😆 I've got the same diagnosis as you explane... probably this is that period to walk trough I'm on the same level as you. I've made surgery almost 12 week ago.I'm going to the gym and doing exercises for the legs complete It is slow recovery but will gonna make it. 💪🤙 1:28 1:28

    Did you do the iastm graston technique ?

      Nope. No real benefit in my opinion. If it feels good, crack on. Won’t strengthen a tendon though.

      Always consult a professional such as orthopaedic surgeon for those types of questions. You won’t get your answer on TH-cam unfortunately

      Every situation is different and some take a little longer. Would find an experienced physio/pt or speak to your consultant if you have any concerns

      depends on many factors and not a one size fits all. Usually something daily light weights for older/less active patients with the odd harder heavier day with view to eventual 2-3 weekly heavier weighted days on calf raises when able. When treating more active patients/pro/semi-pro sports may be able to get on heavier weighted calf raises x 3 weekly a lot sooner.

      Early days then. First few months all about protecting it and allowing to heal! All the best with recovery
