😅George Jones is and will always be loved by his friends Earl Peanutt and Charlene Montgomery. We miss him so much. Hard to believe he's not here anymore. We talk to his children often and they loved their dad so dad so dearly. Jeffrey recently lost a son, the only grandchild George had that was named after him. It was so sad. Pray for Jeffrey and Sue, they are so sad and have gone through so much. Losing His bad was terrible, now his son. That's a lot to cope with.
I seen George Jones last concert. The man sounded better close to dying than today's singers sound perfectly healthy. RIP Mr. Jones. No one will ever fill your shoes sir!
My wife and I was at his final show. I actually said it before the show even happened and even after that I felt this might be his last. His health was rapidly declining and I knew it would be soon. What a memorable night it was.
Rest in peace, George. You found a sound, and you laid it down. So many of us aspiring vocalists will grow better because of your work. Hats off Mr no-show. You always show up for me.....Patches.
I loved his music so much, he was truly unique. I could just kick my own behind for never seeing him in concert, I just thought he would be around forever. Rest In Sweet Peace. We miss you down here George.
Great stuff guys! Loved George Jones since I was a teenager in high school and now I am over 65. You mentioned the music will live on forever and that is true. I admired George because he messed up and he owned it, he never tried to hide or mislead fans. He spoke the truth even when he wasn't proud of it. Their will never be another one like him! RIP GJ, GP
I had the good fortune to see The Possom at a honky tonk in Texas... What better place to see him. The dance floor was filled with Jones fans dancin' to some of the best country music you could ever hope to hear. A concert I'll never forget...
George Jones was one of the best singers and performers ever! I’m so thankful I got to see him play with my family. My Daddy was a huge fan and great singer too, I lbelieve thiey are sanging in the heavenly choir now. Prayers for Mrs. Jones. You could tell they were so in love!
George was born in Saratoga, Tx, in the same county i live, and was born and raised. I rember as a kid, standing on the side of the road, at a homecoming parage for the local football team, and seeing a tour bus go by, and remember it saying NO SHOW on the front of it, i didnt know what it meant, but was told that was George Jones bus!! He had a concert that night in Beaumont, Tx with fellow hometown singer Mark Chessnutt. And just for further info, Clay Walker and Tracy Byrd are from the local area too.
i was so glad i got to see him live around the late 90's/early 2000's. it was him, Kitty Wells, and Johnny Wright, and it was one of the best concerts i've been to!
I had tickets to the show at the Fox, the concert after the last he played. He was a no show, but I know he showed up in heaven. God bless the best singer that will ever grace this earth.
I never got to see George in concert but I've listened to him since 1980 I was 12...nobody could sing like him..never be anyone like him ever again..who's gonna fill their shoes..nobody can..ever..love you George Jones sadly missed😢
It's very hard to narrow it down to just one but I'd have to say he was the greatest voice of all time in country music. What's that, how do you spell country? That's easy, J-O-N-E-S.
I saw Jones twice in WV. First time I got locked up in the Boone county jail on the way home for, uh, well,……being drunk! Second time was in Beckley, made it home without blue lights in my rear view lol. I’m glad Jones found the Lord in his latter years, I too made the commitment to the Lord. Hope I get to see him one day in glory.
Saw Ole Possum twice in 1992 & 1997. It was a great honour to see my idol. Both were amazing shows. Thank you for your music and the memories George. R.I.P
My Mom & I were fortunate enough to see George Jones and Alan Jackson together many years ago at the Erie County Fair. Mom took the show in stride but I on the other hand, had an absolute ball!! You are truly missed, Possum!
Maybe you are somewhat right about George feeling guilty about missing some of his concerts back in the day. I was excited to see him here in Athens County Ohio, where he was scheduled to play many years ago and didn’t make it. I certainly never held it against him. How many of us back in our younger days, skipped work or school to do other things. People need to remember that our pleasure was his work. I couldn’t even imagine how many millions of miles that he traveled. And the hundreds of hours standing under those hot lights singing his music. I think all those things together just made him the guy that we all loved.Thank you George Jones.
When associated talents was doing George’s gigs I worked there and met him a couple times !Him and Nancy were two of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met celebrity wise! I’m the type of person to put my head down and keep walking to not be all star struck, Nancy would force me to talk to her ! There will never be another George! Hope to catch a concert when I join the pearly gates !!
We’ve all covered Jones’ tunes. His songs helped fill setlists around the world. There is only 1 George Jones. Many people have tried to emulate him,but he’ll NEVER be duplicated. I actually go to church with a man that very much resembles George and sings like him.He met Nancy and George’s sister. There was going to be a movie with my friend but someone bought the movie rights before it was finished. We all miss you George,& Thank you for telling it like it is.
George Jones is the greatest country singer. Country music died when George died. I don't like or listen to today's country music. I like classic old country music. RIP George 🙏✝️❤️
The Legendary George Jones has always been my absolute favor male country artist of all time, and will remain so all of my days. May you rest in peace George. Btw, my daddy is up there with you and he was your number one fan. Maybe you two can sit, pick, and sing together sometime. Love you always 💙
Alan Jackson shook my hand in concert at his concert when his jukebox blew up and he started singing don't rock the jukebox I wanna hear some Jones. I bought one of his t-shirts when I got at the concert and put it over a sweat shrit I had on of George Jones and I put Alan's t shrit in my Chin and showed him George Jones he came over to the end of the stage and shook my hand . Back then you didn't have to be seated. And there's more but I'm not putting the rest on here . Its good too. Alan was one nice man that night too me and my son. What he did for my son after the concert was awesome 👌 👏 . I thank him soo much as a mom would he made my son night and Alan was his favorite singer too . Tks Alan for everything you did and you don't even kn . But you will one day . ❤I will get to tell you . I believe this 🫶👌👏🫶🫶Blessings man 🙏🙏🙏
I saw George, Conway Twitty, Vince Gill and Dan Seals in Ogden, UT in March 1992. The tickets were $19.50 each lol. Imagine what that combo would bring in these days!
In March 2013 seen last time I knew he in bad shape told my friend Jones done. He was my hero seen him 16 times not one bad show. He sang tender years that night looking for me sitting far away didn't get back stage that night I wish been back there. Miss him alot.
Makes me wonder why George didn’t spend his last days with his family and children, he sounded so fragile & weak at the last concert. God Bless him, we still miss him. I only wish he would have seen his children in his last days. I think maybe his relationship with his children was strained. Sadly he didn’t get to be with his children.
George Jones was my 2nd most Favorite entertainer Ever right behind Conway Twitty.I love both of their music and I love performing it so I’m doing my part to keep their memories ALIVE for future & current Fans of CLASSIC COUNTRY MUSIC.May they both Rest In Peace!👍👏❤️🎙🙏
l agree with you, indeed George Jones is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul
His drinking was out of control and should have been his demise.. had it not been for his strong constitution. George did quit the bottle ..the drugs, they weren't what got him in the end..He was a smoker and that contributed to his respiratory failure in his last years..I believe.
I didn’t think it was just “old no show”. I knew he was dying. I’ve worked with the elderly and I don’t claim to know everything but I know when they’re in there last days and most of them know it too and so did he and every one around him. He shouldn’t have even tried to tour in his condition. There may be a lot of factors involved in the reason he went on tour but I don’t want to “stir the pot” so I’ll be quiet
Got to see Goerge at the Tache Palace Casino in Lemoore ,Ca.He had a website at the time where you could ask questions via email,i put on there Going to see The Possum now if i can get me an auotograph on my old guitar, his wife Nancy answered and said just go up to that bus knock on the door and Tell Goerge Nancy said Sign that guitar,i could tell even then he wasn't feeling great, little weak on some notes and seemed to get winded easy, but who the hell cares i went to see the best country singer ever and i did and bought a t-shirt while there, that has his picture on Front on the back it says I saw No Show Jones at THE TACHE PALACE IN LEMOORE,Ca.with a list of other concerts he was supposed to hit on tour.Yes and he signed my old guitar,i keep the T-shirt in the case with the guitar,i always carry a clear spray paint to seal the autographs,Merle Haggard Ben Haggard,Noel Haggard,Lorretta Lynn, her daughter Patsy,Willie Nelson,Buck Owens,Bonnie Owens,John McQuen and his son,Nitty Gritty Dirt Band,John Lived in Visalia,Ca. for awhile where i live.Marty Stuart and the fabulous Superlatives all signed my old guitar at Buck Owens Chrystal Palace,in Bakersfield, I live about 60 miles north of Bakersfield.Of Course iceing on the cake is Goerge Jones!

He did more than 11 songs I might add. This list is incomplete. He was on stage for the best part of 2-3 hours
I wasn’t lucky enough to see George , but I’ll be listening to that god given voice for the rest of my life, RIP Possum 🤠🎶
Yes sir I will too
I had tickets to the show at the Fox, the concert after the last he played. He was a no show, but I know he showed up in heaven. God bless the best singer that will ever grace this earth.

I still cover that song.

Tennessee Whiskey and Walk Through this world with me was on there I’m just about certain.
George said he would perform as long as we wanted to see him. We wanted to see him right up to his last seconds on earth.
I love all the old Yorkshire songs. I don't need your rock and chair who's gonna build their shoes. He stopped loving her today. The grand Is tour
U was definitely one of the best All times in country music and also u and ur family have hole lot to be very proud ❤ ya George Jones 👍🙏
Awesome 👌
I was camping at the KOA campground in Nashville Tennessee when I turned on the radio and heard he was in the hospital 🥺
There will never be another.
George jones was a true legend in his time
I thought I heard that Vince Gill wrote that song after his brothers death. That's probably why he crys.
It's downright disturbing to see how many famous musicians play their last concert in Knoxville Tennessee. It's real. 😢
I so glad I live in the same town his son lives we talk about George a lot his son said his dad had the greatest singer ever
Makes me wonder why George didn’t spend his last days with his family and children, he sounded so fragile & weak at the last concert. God Bless him, we still miss him. His drinking was out of control and should have been his demise.. had it not been for his strong constitution. George did quit the bottle ..the drugs, they weren't what got him in the end..He was a smoker and that contributed to his respiratory failure in his last years..I believe.
You’re 100% right. He had COPD from smoking and it eventually killed his lungs. Sad! Otherwise I believe he’s still be singing.
George said Merle was his favorite singer
Maybe ya don’t want to cancel because then you’re conceding
But postponing says I’m gonna beat this and be back .
