Highly informative and useful virtual tour. Though it provides a quick glimpse of its glorious past, it nevertheless provides viewers a brief but ample background of the Baluarte's importance and significance in the colonial history of our country. Intramuros and other parts of Manila like Binodo and Escotla need to be restored the best it can. I'm not saying you need to restore everything the way it was, I know it's hard but it pains me that people not just foreginers but locals just say to people who visit, "skip Manila, worst city ever".
I am probably a bit biased and defend Manila as an okay city, but it definitely isn't great compared to others and the terrible poverty and just dirtiness is unacceptable. I don't know what these leaders want but please just Manila an exciting city again. I personally want some restoration but if they just want to be like Tokyo they can do that but just make the city nice and fix the basics from poverty and the terrible traffic. Even if you fix the traffic and get the poor to better housing, it can even be that big a difference. Serisouly we have great nature and people but I just hate seeing people trash the cities in this country. Do people think it's okay to just be a joke to other people? Of course be proud, but seriously, I get kind of pissed seeing other people even say other SEA countries even have better cities. No disrespect but we have to stop this complacent attitude and wanting to be mediocre. This is from top to bottom.
Like I said I personally would love if Manila tried to restore as much as colonial history if possible. I am all in for modernization which is what most of the city should be, but it deserves to have more respect to its history. I also believe any pre-colonial history or architecture would also be a good way to improve the city. The government has all the power to do this everywhere. They build countless malls and condos which look terrible, I just don't get why they can't do anything that means something. It is just dissapointing.

Dapat gawin cobblestones ang entire central bloc ng intramuros, from manila cathedral to other end. Tas isara exclusively for pedestrians and perhaps calesas gaya sa vigan

I think Malacanang should be inside the walled city.
Palacio del Gobernador (now houses the Comelec), the building facing the restored Ayuntamiento building (now the Bureau of Treasury), was the official "residence" of the Philippine state leaders in the past. Malacanang Palace was only a "secondary, summer residence" back then until it was chosen as the official residence and replaced Palacio del Gobernador when it was destroyed by the 1863 earthquake. The old palace in Intramuros was never restored and became an empty lot since 1863 up until the Japanese destroyed Intramuros in WW2. It was only rebuilt in the 1970s, but far from its original design.

What is damaging to the reputation of intramuros based on the bloggers I watch who goes there are those opportunistic pedicab riders and calesa drivers who are very persistent to the point that it irritates the foreign visitor and they get charged exorbitant prices, even I as a pinoy fell victim to this. Can you not standardize this service like provide a station of a booth there where people can pay fix fees with posted prices you know like the gondola ride in Venice Grand Canal Mall.
