Good movie with suspense and surprises that held my interest all the way through. I was very surprised by the ending. Great writing, great story. Well acted.
I've never seen a Richard Dix movie before- he made 101- , but I couldn't help notice the man was sick. He died less than 2 years later from chronic Alcoholism, and when I looked him up he looked much different in his early films. The 'narrator' made me want to stop right away, but I finished it. In the space of an hour or so, our hero gets knocked out 4 times, and gets framed for DUI and 2 murders. It's THAT kind of movie-lol TY!
Well, that’s interesting, I didn’t know that about Richard Dix’s chronic alcohol addiction. I’ve watched him in a number of the Whistler movies, and always kind of thought he sounded like he was slurring his words, like someone that’s drunk. Maybe he was drinking on the job!
@@noneyabizniss1765 I have an advantage when it comes to seeing people that are sick and/or addicted- I did Ultrasound for over 20 years. Many patients from the ER still had Alcohol in their systems the next day and longer. One 'lady' named Margie (Nacogdoches,TX) was a huge Diabetic and her BAC was 3.+ at least twice. The Doctor said she was close to 4 one night and still telling dirty jokes when she should have been dead. Dix probably never drew a completely sober breath most of his life.
@@miketemple7686 I've had some patients with Livers the size of a Volley Ball that looked like every waking minute was was torture. Alcohol is one unforgiving monster.

I never actually cared for Richard Dix. I thought he was a mediocre actor at best & NOT good looking, at all. Someone earlier stated he made 101 movies &/or TV shows. That surprises me!! I had no idea there were so many. This episode was pretty good, despite Dix, & the ending is a complete surprise!! The kid, Tommy, added A LOT to this film!! ❤❤

Another enjoyable film. Thank you.
Very good movie and good performance by Richard dix. Thank you for providing this interesting film!!
Really a very good suspense movie. All the Whistler tales are wonderful.
This was quite enjoyable.... thanks for the upload 🦁🌵🌻

Rather like "The Fugitive", only this movie came first.

That explains a lot. I thought his acting was lethargic. He looks tired most of the time.

There was absolutely no need for "the whistler" appearing in this film.
It was a Richard Dix series.
Who do you think the hitchhiker was?
That narrator was a bit harsh. Great movie and thank you for showing it!!😊
Kind of like "A Quinn-Martin production". If you don't know, you'll have to use the Google machine.
@@kevino4846 I remember the name, but still had to look it up because those productions were so long ago. I am a real oldie goldie😊
@@kathleenmckeithen118 I think it was on shows like Canon or Barnaby Jones. The deep-voiced guy would say that at the beginning.

It’s amazing how immoderate alcohol consumption ‘ages’ a person. I guess because it’s technically a ‘poison’.
A 4 leaf clover,a rabbits foot , and a full house won’t save this guy.

@@arieswaters Thank you, Herr Volks.
Gr8 story/plot. Agree, Whistler irrelevant. Enjoyed the suspense.
The whole plot comes from the Whistler interjecting himself into someone's life, if only briefly.
$30 a week? He's over paying him.
Yeahhhh, we win.
If you like 1940's mysteries, listen to my fun mystery story!
I always found Richard Dicks, a little wooden and his acting very wooden like a 1930s style
"Dix*
There's a joke in there somewhere🤭
Lame 👎👎👎 bad writing ✍️
"Tommy" was the best actor in the film.
