Because her devotion was to Mrs. Harrison. And seeing Mr. Harrison dead and that "new woman" that she hated for taking Mrs. Harrison's place, she was happy to see justice done, although a rather perverted justice. The part I didn't get was when The Whistler said that the page from the diary could have saved Mr. Harrison's neck, I don't see how it could have. They had the bottle analyzed; it contained poison; and the page from the diary showed that Mrs Harrison witnessing him coming into her room and doing something with that bottle.

If you were going to get that bottle analyzed, wouldn't you go: "Oh, I'm not taking any chances, there could be poison in anything I'm going to consume here." The letter would have proved that she didn't drink the poison. Saving his neck might mean that he wouldn't receive the death penalty since he did not directly cause her death. The stress of it all caused her to relapse, not the poison. But since he strangled the new wife, the letter would do him no good in that case. just my analysis of a movie.
