The power is very useable though and it can take another 150 hp. 700-750 is perfect for that car stage 2 tune. There is a new 2021 tuned rs7 pushing like 950 hp did 364kph on the autobahn which is about 225mph and he only maxed out 7th gear it would have kept going. That’s how I would want it.
@@yammmit yeah I agree but you've missed the point completely. If this is over powered under 3 seconds would be even more over powered. In a way whether this car was slower or faster it never would have had a chance at the 10.

A retractable infotainment screen is Doug's wet dream
mine too, I hate with every fibre of my being having this humongous Ipad tablet monstrosity in the middle of a nice flowing dashboard.....I especially hate the bolt on ones that many are putting on the backs of the front seats.
Atrocious from a design perspective....
I absolutely hate the retractable ones. The screen doesn't have to impact the flowing dashboard UNLESS YOU MAKE IT THIS HUGE BILLBOARD ON TOP OF IT. I'm never going to have the infotainment screen down unless I have a very good full digital dash like the Audi ones, and even then I figure I would be fine controlling many of the features that would be placed in that middle portion of the interior from a screen anyway. I would only want a couple dials for climate control functions that are used the most often.
well, it's funny because everything that is on that screen can be controlled by your phone so the screen is 100% unnecessary. In fact, most of the things on the screen aren't necessary just more things to F up....
This is a perfect example of something that is commonplace and very simple and easy and reliable to do, that they made it more complex than it has to be:
Power windows on a 2004 F150. They aren't just analog buttons that send power to the motors +/- or -/+. They are IC's that are connected to the ECM and if your battery goes dead, it takes a while before the computer learns that hey, you DO in fact want to roll your windows down....
Or that one car that Doug reviewed where the 2 middle louvers in the dash were controlled via the touch screen. Do you realize the complexity to get that to happen? The louvers require a servo motor to go up and down and another to go left and right. 2 motors, with either IC's attached OR a separate digital connection to the ECU....or you can move your hand down 2 inches and adjust them....and it's not like ALL are done that way, just the two in the middle.
I will guarantee this: on 8 year old cars with all these electronics? Number 1 issue won't be a bad tranny or engine. It will be bugs in the electronics and will cost you 1,000s to find and you may not ever find it.....
Want an example? Look up superspeedersrob and his video on selling his used McLaren. He sold it to a guy, 2 weeks later a $300 electronic part went on the suspension system and destroyed numerous other parts...total bill? $50,000.00.........

well, the beauty about one that folds away is: you can have it right in front, or I can fold it out of sight....best of both worlds.
But all this "see what we can do" just reminds me of that super duper net connected $400 thermostat my gas company gave me for free.....awesome right? Well, awesome until I got an email from them to change the password on it immediately because their server got hacked, and that means they got my password, which gave them access to MY network, which gave them access to all my financial information....THROUGH MY FUCKING THERMOSTAT!!

Doug, I know this is 4 years later, but just incase no one else has commented, the "tow" button for the air ride has NOTHING to do with towing something. But it does however have everything to do with the vehicle BEING towed. If you don't disable to air suspension and your tow truck driver ratchets the vehicle tight to the flatbed, your suspension will mistake that for too much weight inside and will attempt to level the car off. But, since it's chained down, it will not raise the ride height. What it will do is either blow up the air pump, the air shocks, or BOTH. Just thought you should know.

I appreciate you're not really a sound system kinda guy, but it would be great if you could include a quick demo of the audio in action and hear your feedback - Some of the cars you feature have amazing sound systems (this RS7's B&O included) and i'm sure they would sound fantastic.

To unlock rear door simply pull the door handle to open door, if child lock isn't engaged then the door will unlock itself

Yeah most of the VW/Audi line do this - in Toureg models it unlocks automatically when you want to exit, OR you can double pull it to unlock as well.

And ashtray in front is something like a cup that you can put in cupholder. Its modular, you have that in volkswagens.

Eric Majeski the rod bearings are a thing on it. However I dont believe you need to panic as much as people think unless you’re racing the car often. Also the throttle actuator is a thing too lol.

multiple wild card buttons.... buttons 1-10 on the BMW idrive system dating back to 2009 and probably earlier. They are capacity touch, programmable buttons and they're so great.
You touch your finger to one of the buttons and on the idrive screen a message will pop out from the top telling you what that button will do. The button has a sensor to know your finger it on it but not pressing it in.
Press the button and it will do the thing it say it will do.
Press and hold the button and it will reprogram that button to do whatever it is you're currently doing in the idrive system.
It's a killer feature.
12:31 if you insert your key on the rear door and turn off the child lock the black button changes similar to the touchpad and has a little open lock then rear passenger can unlock the car

@Doug DeMuro at 12:21 the rear lock buttons work quite diffrent and are common in the EU when u lock the door you push the button. when you want to unlock the door you pull the handle. when you want to open the door you pull the handle again. so pull 2 times and a locked door opens.

Ground clearance is big factor here. In snow Dacia Duster would be probably better than your BMW and your friends A6
I got stock suspension with eibach pro kit springs, so its pretty low, he has orginal audi suspension.

My friend has same.year jet black and it's sweet. These cars are so wide and heavy and handle like it's in a track so tight . So fast they are amazing. Style and power. 700plus his has with some tune and chip. Wild
Doug - Audi’s CPO is one of the best in the business with 2yrs past any remaining factory or 100k miles. Combine that with audi care at 899 for 20-30-40-50k services and it’s really a no brainer at 7x,xxx thousand. Also that CPO stays with the car so there are some used non audi dealership sold cars with the cpo on them.
I must admit I’m slightly biased as I’ve had a c7 s6 c7.5 s7 and now have a c7.5 RS7. Combined I’ve put over 150k miles on this generation c platform in every power level (420, 450, 560, and 605hp guise too) and various transmissions. It really is one fantastic value.

18:07 at one point the A7 did come as a FWD car. The interesting thing is that the Quattro A7 is a RWD based AWD with 60% to the rear via an LSD. It can send 85% to the rest and 70% to the front.

Alex Just Technically the RS7 does compete with the M5 and E63 in addition to the CLS 63 and M6 because the A6 does not come in RS spec in the United States. The most we get is the S6 which technically competes with the models beneath the M5 and E63.

Great video, as always. Actually there is a way to unlock back doors from inside. You lock them by using the button and onlock by pulling the handle once and the second time is to open the door.

To unlock the rear doors (just like my Tiguan and I assume many other VW and Audi), use the handle once to unlock, and once more to open.

@@thai-anhnguyen5527 ended up paying $60k for 2016 38k miles. Sold for $55k about 1 year later and had just normal oil. The car did come with sport and winter wheels (sold sport for $3k) so overall was close to free to drive. The v8 super reliable, I'm actually getting a V8 R8 early next year for that reason. I have an RS5 Sportback that replaced the RS7 but even from 2016 the tech (assuming prestige) pretty comparable to 2018-2019 models.

I hope you got extended warranty. My steering module broke after owning the car for 3 months, didnt even have 50k miles on it. Repair 4930$ . I am still happy with the car though even though it is just A7

Love the used review with the “bargain” angle. That said, for much of us $70k is not inexpensive, even at 1/2 sticker. One could perhaps make a better argument for the used RS5. I got a used 2015 in early 2020, limited sports edition, $87k sticker, for $35k. Would like to see a D review of the last RS5 with the NA V8. FWIW I love mine.
