Never underestimate a 4-door sedan.
Credit where credit is due, this is an excellent review. He talks about all the highlights without being obnoxious, and cuts to thrilling exhaust runs in the right moments. I do agree with him that the R8 is a relatively tame car, I had a 2014 Suzuka Grey V10 and the car was pretty sedate most the time unless you wring it out to 5000+ revs with the sport mode on, otherwise you can barely hear the exhaust. I’m eyeballing the RS7 for my next daily driver, it’s an R8 for the whole family 😂. Heck, it even has more trunk space than my wife’s GLC (25 ft3 vs 20 ft3)

Fireman said it was caused by faulty wiring. Hopefully as there prices have climbed, they have spent more time on making them last longer.
If you have never driven one? You should! Had a 12 A7 and it was a blast. Drove an Rs7 one time and fell in love. Nothing like walking away from just bout anything on the street🤣
I'd get a used RS7 over a new hellcat. Even with better tires 600hp+ on a single axle is a lot to ask from a tire on the street. 600hp to 4 is much more manageable. Plus you can drive them in the snow without issue. My only gripe with the RS7 is the infotainment. He kind of glossed over it here. Granted I've only been in one of the earlier years so I don't know about the face-lift ones but infotainment on it was atrocious. Volume knob to the right of the shifter instead of on the dash like every other car. It was slow, graphics looked like windows 95, menus on menus to get to simple functions. I wouldn't like it on a 20k car much less a 100k+ car. Not a huge deal on a weekend car but if you're dailying it would be annoying to me. Hopefully they fixed it.

Well the RS's are somewhat special. I owned an S8 and loved it, how I could play cat and mouse with a 911 on the Autobahn and they couldn't shake me off :). For me the RS7 or 6 are the perfect understatement / sleepers for the road. I really enjoy your content and the way you're presenting the matter. What always turned me off by owning a German car here in the US, was the wait time for parts, especially when you own a rather rare car, took my shop always 2 weeks.... :(
@@CRatcliffe That's what my plan is. I'm saying if someone in the one percent. Who has change to throw at one brand new so they could brag to their friends who got one first. Wouldn't care about depreciation value. They'll probably trade it in the second something goes wrong with it kind of money.

My story. I had an 06 magnum R/T as my daily driver. Paid it off, lowered it on Eibach springs and SWAY BARS (if you have a magnum at least put sway bars on it) it was a ripper but I still could be beat by most anything that had boost and a tune. Looked into getting a Challenger SRT, couldn't afford a hellcat but a n/a 392 i thought would be a good step up, maybe buy my first new car. Halloween morning 2018, a dodge caravan doesn't like that I am slowing down while coming to a clogged traffic junction, passes me on the shoulder and cut in front of me and he has to brake so I rear end him, I'm thinking I am going to be at fault pull it off to the side and the dodge caravan leaves the scene. My Magnum is totaled so I get 8k (CAD) for it and I start looking for something that can be a daily but also fun as I was going to keep the Magnum for a daily and maybe get a Challenger for weekends and dates and shie. I get on kijiji (like craigslist but less sketchy, I think gumtree is kind of similiar) and put in minimum year 2010 V8 and Manual transmission. I get a bunch of challengers and then one Audi S5 4.2 manual, I had to at least test drive it. I test drove it and maybe it was just me getting behind a powerful car with a manual transmission (I have an 89 golf cabriolet that will one day be my racecar project and drove a like 06 hyundai rs for a bit) but man it felt like it didn't matter what gear I picked it would just pull, my mind was made up so I bought it. Straight exhaust pipe on Audi rs7 is music 🎶
Been a fan of your content for many years. I hope to thank you in the future. If I don't have to destroy this entire reality
I wish the insurance wasn’t so ridiculous for an RS7 😭😭 Still love my A7 tho lol
I know right. I wanted an rs3 so bad but had to settle for an a3 instead. Either way, it’s a great platform to build on
Anything Audi is really nice especially yours
@@nyeoncolors6949 Thanks and you can find some slightly used ones for a really big discount and an insane value for your money
luv my stg 2 A7 with EPL engine and trans tune! 12.0 1/4mile..3.8 0-60..the 3.0 supercharged engine is near bulletproof
Love these, love the turbo set up on them, very interesting
Audi gang!!! Audi are so amazing and people sleep on them.
The engine in rs7 is totally different from urus
Urus got newer v8 which is same one in c8 rs6
Bro just about everything is better than a hell cat.
This is just like on another level.
Hellcats were a good "shock" back in 2015 but now they're just whatever. If I had a choice, I'd even get a GT500 over a Challenger Hellcat
@ 9:49 , I thought this was going to be his last video! 🤣 BLIND HILL
Dam that things fast.
I have an A4, working toward an RS3 and I am dreaming of an RS7.
hi David. nice vid. liked b4 watching b/c i knew it was going to be good
This is my dream car they are amazing
Rs5 has always been a dream of mine. But the dogs would choose the Rs6. Off topic tho I think the volvo S90 wagon looks the best.
Always been my dream car since I first saw one
More refined for sure. Audi has some great cars out there
Great video as always! If I can buy any car right now to be my all around vehicle I would take an RS6 Avant all day! Just saw my first one out in the wild a few days ago. Made me smile like no other!
U need to drive an ur quattro, the foundation for all modern audis and a beautiful turbo I5 😍
Great review ! U grinned every time u romped on 3Rd gear ! The perfect car !
I want one of those so bad my friend has one pearl white with the red interior that car is so perfect!!!!! ❤️💪🏾
Those seats are actually Recaros. Almost all of the Audi s and rs models use recaros
Wow really? Didn't know that
Well the RS's are somewhat special. :(
The thing that kills me is depreciation on both of them but the RS7 is much much worse if you compare it to the original price.
I have thought about that too.,
However.
If I had legit RS7 money, I wouldn't care about depreciation value.
Sad but true
@@scotty8254 but why buy a new one knowing in 2-4 years it'll be worth just over 50% of what I paid. Id rather buy a used one at that point.
@@CRatcliffe
That's what my plan is.
I'm saying if someone in the one percent. Who has change to throw at one brand new so they could brag to their friends who got one first. Wouldn't care about depreciation value. They'll probably trade it in the second something goes wrong with it kind of money.

I'm personally shooting for a S5 sportback 2018. A couple more years and it will be a steal!
It's also going to be 10 times more expensive to repair than a hellcat
I bought one of these last year and it’s such a fun car to drive.
Drives me nuts. I bought an S8 which is basically just a slightly heavier RS7, but now I want an RS7.
Of course for some reason they're like double the price of an S8. 😆
Now I feel like a peasant
Thanks David
“Okay. HEHUH! It just does the thing.” 😂😂
Ultimate Audi .That drivetrain in a RS4.
I have had the pleasure of driving one of those myself, incredible cars indeed.
A coworker told me the same thing, his R8 never scared him but the RS7 was nuts
My brother has a 2014 s6 v8tt and loves that thing to death.
You sir jjst made him want to upgrade :)))))
I'm a passionate VW Group Hater, but this I like!
And that really says it: "It just does the thing". I'm on Audi #7 and looking for an RS6 Avant next year to be #8.
RS7 literally the 4dr goat and it holds is value well for a reason.
Favorite sounding would be the Audi Sport Quattro.
what year is this
One of my favorite audis
